How this business is getting away with conning…read moreinnocent people out of their hard earned money, myself included as a single person working every hour as an NHS worker who was one of many who worked all through Covid lockdown's so I could still pay my mortgage and bills!! Told I would get my washing machine no later than 5 days and knowing how desperately I needed i, especially for uniforms.I was promised a top of the range machine with full warranty free delivery and installation, I was rung on the day that it was on way to me within the next hour or two so I had to arrange for someone to be there for him. i arrived as it was being installed, stressed and not fully concentrating as his son showed me how to use it before giving me a receipt saying that was the warranty!!!! After realising that the machine although looked new was actually a refurbished machine I rang numerous times and also texted Trev to ask him to call me back. This was on the 5th June 2023 still waiting for a callback from this PERSON TREV!! This is called ROBBERY!! looks like I'll have to go down the legal path to get my money back that this business falsely stole from myself unless the despicable man has any form of conscience!!!!!!!!!! I much prefer this location to the Currys in Manchester Arndale nearby, as not only is it larger, showcasing a larger selection of products from TVs to coffee machines, from printers to laptops, from smartwatches to Amazon Echo and other home devices, it serves a one-shop tech shop. The store had a good number of staff working, who seemed to let customers browse, friendly but not intrusive... an approach I like, but is sadly not always common with Currys, in some stores the staff are worse than car salesmen, but they've got it right here. I do find the prices in certain areas to be a tad more expensive than the competition, but you can often get some pretty good deals here on most items. The store interior may feel like any Currys, not the most beautiful store in the world or the most modern, but it's easy to follow with a good selection of tech. 4*

There's a strange smell as you walk around here. I don't know what aquariums are supposed to smell…read morelike but it smelt of incense or something funny in here. As you walk down to the store, it's quite a strange feeling being faced with these tanks and the fish swimming about. It's a dark space to illuminate all the fishes and their colourful tanks. Can you believe you can get coffee tables with your fish swimming in them? Well you can in here. Cold water fish and tropical fish are catered for in here, no discrimination that's for sure. There are a few printed off, funny looking pictures to guide your decision. Overall the shop may look a little old and tattered but the fish don't seem to go without.

It's just a few streets away and actually has a far bigger selection of fish. However, what Hilton Aqua Emporium is really good for is designer tanks. If you want a fish tank with a difference, then it's definitely worth a look in here. For instance, they have fish tank coffee tables. So you have a coffee table. But it's got fish in it. But you can still put your cup of tea on it. Or your feet on it whilst you watch TV. Kind of weird, kind of cool. Totally unnecessary.

So there I was, wandering round the Northern Quarter looking for something new, and POOF it…read moreappeared! In a shadowy doorway near Leo's gross Fish Bar, is a little staircase, lined with cool music posters and a couple of outfits on hangers. To be honest, I didn't hold out much hope as I descended the stairs. The sign above the door isn't the best (though it gets kudos for being simple) and, let's face it, vintage shops are ten-a-penny nowadays, and Manchester's NQ selection is already so good, it'd be hard to live up to that. But, I am glad to report, Bratt's does it admirably. Located in a cellar, basically, Bratt's takes advantage of the exposed brick work and low ceilings, and the arched alcoves in the wall are used as features; one of them houses much of the homewares selection (more on that later) and the other has been curtained off as a fitting room, which is almost too cool for words. It's the best fitting room I've seen since Rags to Bitches' silky tent. In terms of stock, Bratt's has really got it. Endless racks of good quality, well-cared-for vintage merchandise line the tardis-like cellar, organised, by style and material. So you'll find all the cricket jumpers together, offset by a great collection of retro trackie-tops and a bunch of good-looking furs (faux, or no? I dunno.) There's a multitude of jolly good womenswear, from all eras and epochs, and a seriously decent selection of knitwear. There's also a fantastic array of upcycled dresses and skirts by Love Me Again. I love upcycling, and you should too! The homewares, though mainly concentrated in one area, are scattered round the shelves. The awesomeness is too much to list, and I'm sure it's changed since last week, but expect to see vintage telephones, Atari consoles, the odd coffee table and some very nice mirrors. The perfect addition to any bijous dwelling, and the sort of thing I yearn for, but cannot have, in my modernist gaff. Sigh. Anyway, if you've got a kitsch aesthetic going on, you could do a lot worse than to pop to Bratt's for a vintage milk jug. (£3!) Not only is the stock great, the people here are fab too. The manager was more than happy to have a wee chat about the place, and told me that originally he'd planned to open a bar there. Thank God he didn't; this vintage shop is far too good to miss out on. As well as Mr Bratt (j'assume) there's a lovely female shop assistant who wafted around being the epitome of vintaahhhge styyyyle, dahhhhling, making it look totally effortless. She's hard to hate, though, because she's so damn lovely. Considering the instant awesomeness of Bratt's, only two weeks after opening, I think this place is one that will go quickly from hidden gem to firm fave, and rightly so.
