Victory also has wonderful children's, teen and young adults ministries, meaningful community outreach, including a food pantry that blesses HUNDREDS of families, and great member fellowship. The congregation is a representation of the surrounding area. Any race, ethnicity or nationality you see around town, you will probably see here, so please don't think this church is segregated, as many tend to be. We even have a great non-hearing community, and ASL at every service! If you watch online, you will be blown away when you attend in person and see what you're missing. The camera simply can not capture the love, the passion, the sound, the beauty of this historic sanctuary, and the presence of The Spirit of God that stirs throughout the building! UPDATE: This is now my beloved church home. I already know so many of our members, and have formed true friendships with ladies I now consider sisters. You must come visit and please stop in at the cafe before and/or after service for a cup of coffee, a snack, and big family vibes! You will lose count of all the warm smiles and greetings you receive. And we are a fervently praying family. You will never feel like we're putting on a show, or ticking boxes off a checklist. It only takes one conversation for him to remember you. They ask that you come broken so God can repair you, don't wait until you are perfect to seek him. This man delivers the word of God every time. The church is open EVERYDAY so what ever you are facing you do not have to face it alone. Come see for yourself, I promise that you will feel the presence of the Lord. This ministry is there to reach every age group! I visited Bethany for a pre-Women's Day service recently where a guest preacher, that I follow on…read moreIG, was preaching. My 16yo daughter commented that we should visit one day for Sunday service, as it is less than ten miles from home. I expected there to be an offering, but in the beginning of the service, they had two baskets. Bishop Evans said one was for the guest preacher, and the other for the ministry. He then said we needed to put the same amount in each basket. Umm, say what now? I've never heard a pastor tell the congregation how to give! I had a $10 bill and a $5 bill. I put the former in the basket for the guest, since she was the reason I was there, and nothing in the other. The guest preacher was awesome, but when she was done, SHE announced another offering for herself! Needles to say, I did not give. I mean, I thought that's what the earlier offering was for! Then, Bishop Evans says "if you didn't sow a seed, you should have", and words to the effect that your blessings are dependent on your giving. I was outdone! And to top it all off, there was no altar call. I guess they were too concerned with folks's money than their souls. Even my daughter said, after we left, that therein lies the reason a lot of people don't go to church, especially mega churches - because they think they're all about the money. I'm thankful that at my home church, Enon Tabernacle Baptist Church, we pray for those who want to give but can't. I was disappointed in my experience at Bethany. So much so, that Jesus Christ himself would have to be preaching before I would visit again!

I've been here for weddings, funerals, celebrations, girl scout things. It's definitely Vinelands most beautiful church. It has a huge parking lot and is easy to locate at the heart of downtown. If I was Catholic and getting married, this is definitely where I'd want my pictures taken, especially if you have a big wedding party.

It is however a strong, loving congregation. Members are quick to notice visitors and introduce themselves to try and make them feel more at home, and simply get to know them more. Pastor Joe has been there for, I think, 13 years or so now. This church places a big emphasis on Discipleship, which I think is great because I could always grow in my knowledge and application of how to better spread God's Word. I've been attending Lakes my whole life as my parents have been going there since they were kids, and my fathers parents were charter members. Lakes youth ministry meets on Sunday's at 6, and will often times incorporate outreach ministries like going to Faces of Change in Camden, NJ, to help hand out food, drink, and clothes to homeless or less fortunate. Along with our few discipleship groups, a young couple started Shine Ministries which is an outreach program to give back as they often times will hand out food in Camden, spend time with children at the Ronald McDonald House, technologically educate men and women in retirement homes, and many others great ways to give back and show Christ's love. I've had nothing but great experiences at Lakes. If you're looking for a church where you can go and slip through the cracks, this may not be for you.
