Of course the quiet factor depends on the time of day - I haven't managed to perfect my knowledge of exactly when lap pools are at their busiest, but I've never had to share a lane with more than one person here. There's not much in the way of kid's entertainment except for a small paddle pool, but if you're kid free and enjoy a comparably peaceful lap swim this is a great place to go.

Sadly, even if they offered a huge discount off their exorbitant prices, I wouldn't have signed up to stay on. The facilities are so tired and old. The change room is supposed to be nice but it's not. I used to go home to shower. I did once try the toiletries they supplied - they refilled shampoo bottles with cheap and nasty shampoo that completely dried out my hair. Breakfast is a non-event. Other Fernwoods have 'standards' - I don't know why this one does not. I'm now happily running for fitness as there are no other female only gyms in the area. I'd rather work out on my own than waste money or time at Fernwood Sunnybank. Very sad.

I have been a member of this gym for 10 years and finally could no longer justify the paying for a…read moregym that does not deliver anything a gym should. the shower facilities are tired and dirty. they are rarely cleaned and the tiles are growing mould, showerheads are broken and a shower door was replaced by a curtain and never fixed. the leased equipment has now all gone and what is left is old, tired or broken. the 4 treadmills are the originals from 10 years ago. Weights, fitballs, benches and other equipment have gone missing. there are now so few members attending in the mornings that there are no classes. this used be a vibrant and busy gym. it is now on its last legs. look for another gym that is busy, friendly and with up to date equipment
