This was the fourth place in Hatton Gardens that we had visited that day as we were trying to find someone who could fix the very unique custom engagement ring I commissioned from a family friend in the States. The other three places we went didn't seem right to us either a bit pushy on selling their own ring, not having their own workshop, or not understanding what we wanted the ring to look like. It was clear after speaking with Chris for only a few minutes that we were in good hands. It was clear that he is a craftsman who takes the highest pride in his work and was exactly the person we were hoping to find to fix the ring. Chris didn't pull a fee quote out of the air, we saw him carefully consider the elements of the project as he wrote out the cost of the gold and his labour estimate. Unknown to him, this was 1/3 less than the other shops had quoted. Because we are complete novices when it comes to custom jewelry, we did not explain ourselves as well as we could have. We picked up the ring from Chris and while it was beautiful, it was still not exactly as we envisioned. Apprehensively, we went back to see if it were possible to make any adjustments. Chris put our worries aside and took the ring back to change. When it was finished the ring was exactly what we wanted. Chris and the team did an amazing job and didn't charge anything extra for the re-work, though he easily could have. Could not ask for better service and cannot recommend enough. This is someone who is doing a job they love, doing it well, while keeping the customer in mind at all time.

Their prices seemed very competitive compared to other UK based retailers, although I didn't feel comfortable about buying something so expensive from a company I'd never heard of. I gave them a call and explained what I wanted to buy, and they gave me all the details about the diamond certification, postage and timeframes. After that I found a diamond and setting that matched my budget and placed the order. After about 10 days from the inital order confirmation, I received an email to say my order was in the workshop, and a couple of days after that was emailed to either arrange delivery or visit their store in Hatton Gardens, London to view the diamond. I felt going to their store defeated the point of shopping online, so opted for the ring to be posted to me, and it arrived the next day. I was impressed with the diamond itself, especially how much it sparkled, the wooden box it came with, and the GIA certificate and insurance valuation. More importantly, my girlfriend (now fiancé) was even more impressed! Definitely recommended if you're looking for a good diamond without the hassle of going to a jeweller.

My engagement ring is nearly 100 years old and we decided it would be nice to have equally seasoned wedding bands, which are surprisingly hard to find in the old ornate hand engraved styles. Until we found Andrew R Ullmann's shop. When we arrived, the store was busy, but the owners were adept at multitasking handing us trays upon trays of stunning wedding bands they saved from being melted down. Eventually, as we were narrowing our selection, they helped us navigate what rings could be sized and which shouldn't be. We found a ring for each of us that suits us. They were able to size both rings. When we sized Mark's ring they needed to add some engraving so the pattern was not incomplete. They did this in a days time as they knew we were traveling back to the states the next day. Their workmanship was exquisite and you can't tell where there work ends and the original beings. They are also the kindest most helpful group we have ever encountered in the jewelry field. We highly recommend them and will certainly be back.

I randomly was looking for a place to fix it near here and they happened to be open at 8am, or maybe they weren't open, but they let me in. I was so grateful. They fixed my bracelet in about 2 days for £20. It was worth it to me since it's a family heirloom. Andrew, I presume, and his son were both very nice and helpful. Glad to have found a trustworthy place to do repairs! The actual stock looked gorgeous, too.

We first went in to look for an engagement ring and were served by Mr Graham, the owner of the shop. He was so charming and so knowledgeable, I felt so special. Needless to say I am now wearing the most beautiful, unique ring that I simply adore. I feel like we paid a really fair price and am confident that that my ring is very good quality. i have been buying watches and jewellery from this shop for over six years now and have found them…read morevery reliable ..so much so I have even invested in a few diamond pieces from them. The shop assistants are very friendly and have a ready smile on while serving. The only drawback is that there are very little new items added on and whenever I go the same old stuff seems to be on display. one can also grab a good bargain on their frequent half-priced sales . The only item you won't find are belly-button rings and nose-studsnot sure if that is for health and safety reasons though.
