They were extremely inconsiderate toward my mother--who is 92 years old and in poor health who arrived on time for her scheduled appointment with the podiatrist, Dr Yu. The staff member, G Yu was very insensitive toward my mom. I tried to explain to G Yu that my mother had an open wound on her back and was in pain; despite having arrived punctually for her scheduled appointment, she was left waiting for over an hour and was the last patient to be seen. I was attempting to kindly intercede on behalf of my mother, who suffers from dementia and cannot speak for herself. G Yu completely disregarded my concerns and in retaliation she told me not to bring my mother back again. G. Yu appears to be the person in charge of the facility--the one who initiated the despicable act of patient abandonment--since the doctor simply complied when she asked him to discharge my mother and hand over her discharge papers. They are clearly in violation of ACA and HIPAA. I would like to remind this family medicine practice that they are not in China. We are in the United States of America, and people here have the right to be treated with respect and fairly. They advertise this website that does not exist: www.advancedmedicalfootcare.org. I don't think they perform enough hours of therapy to see the persons stamina and if they are truly safe to be home alone. Also my sister lives alone and developed a very severe speech impediment and social work was really not helpful in facilitating fmla or Aflac documentation they needed for my sister to get financial support. The social worker would say one thing ( in email) and then say she never said it. I kept telling her and the head of social worker the forms where in her bag and each time I said it , it was like i had never told them before. I wish I had chosen another facility for my sister. Room was decent, food was not good. Better to look at a different rehab where maybe the communication and support is better. The social worker kept telling me it's the family's responsibility but before she went there the admissions director assured me social worker would help with these forms since I am very far away. What I felt was that social worker really wasn't trying to help as she was supposed to and the forms she finally did fill out several weeks later were not done correctly.
