Every time after meeting Janet, I feel he is not only more confident about writing but happier about who he is. There are so many things I am navigating as a parent and I definitely want to focus on what's most important. I met Janet before our 504plan meeting and her insight as a parent and a former teacher really helps me to focus on what's most important. She also coaches my son to speak up for himself. It's always good when you have an experienced and understanding partner at your side practically and mentally. The positive relationships she built with my son has been beyond a writing tutor but as his asset to success other areas in elementary school years.

She has taken the anxiety out of writing, teaching him that it doesn't need to be perfect, and helping him learn to organize and develop his thoughts on the page. This is our kid who couldn't write more than 2 sentences two years ago and who couldn't write without panicking. Those blockers that previously held him back aren't showing up at all now, and he has only ever seen his work with Janet as a fun part of his week. It never felt like "tutoring" at all.

Both instructors are highly qualified.. Furthermore, the customer service is phenomenal, professional and responds to my questions and concerns if any arraise promptly ( which is very important to me) .. That said, I would like to personally thank Ashley in Customer service who always goes above and beyond with helping me.. The customer service and highly qualified instructor's that are provided by Juni are the reason I would not hesitate to sign my kids to this great company. Thank you Juni!

During that time, they still charged us $275.00 for the month of August! Yet we had ZERO lessons that month. Every time i ask when we will get a tutor, i get told that they can't locate any. What sort of company is this? When we first joined JUNI, a year ago, we were assigned a tutor fairly quickly. But then we dropped him because he would cancel at the last minute about 1 out of every 4 classes. That was ridiculous! The only reason i went back to JUNI in August was because my son enjoys their course. However. it's definitely time for us to find another source of coding classes. BUYER BEWARE

She has critiqued my school essays, advised me on my SAT skills, and collaborated to form several fantastic college applications. The college applications were especially of note; while However, I must emphasize that Ms. Denise's expertise extends beyond merely tutoring: we have discussed and studied topics as foreign to me as philosophy. While not overtly connected to standard academics, I have found these niche subjects as bolstering my literary and argumentative expertise (and my school grades of course). In short, if you wish to truly expand and challenge your English mastery, Ms. Denise is certainly an apt choice.

As it turns out, our son is actually quite good at math but had lost the confidence to perform well. Julian worked closely with him and helped build his confidence in his academic abilities. Julian was also instrumental in our son doing well on the high school entrance exams (ISEE and HSPT) resulting in many excellent choices for highschool. We have been so impressed with Julian, his ability to connect with his students and find the best study tools, techniques and methods that work for the specific individual. Our son stayed with Julian through highschool and had periodic sessions for classes or subject matter that he found challenging. He also worked with Julian on college entrance exams and did very well on his ACT. We are grateful for the academic support that Julian provided to our son over the years who is now thriving and doing well at a prominent UC.

This business has so much potential but falls short on several counts:…read more 1. The mentors aren't kept up to date, even after this is pointed out to them. We were excited to read several of the bios, particularly of Stanford students, only to be told none of them are available, they used to work at Breakout Mentors but no longer do. There seems to be a bit of bait and switch, since other mentors that were offered to us were not Stanford students. 2. We finally agreed to accept a different mentor and agreed and reconfirmed the day and time with the mentor multiple times. At the appointed day and time our son was visibly excited and couldn't wait to get started. Then we waited. And waited. I could see disappointment creep into my son's eyes. We encouraged our son to email the mentor directly, which he did, but no answer. Then I emailed the mentor. No answer. Finally, about half an hour after the session was supposed to begin, we called the mentor and he answered, sounding as though he just woke up. He did get online quickly, but the late start meant that we had to cancel our son's next appointment and take a loss on that lesson. 3. We asked for a partial refund of this lesson, since even though the full time was given it started half an hour late (and probably would have been even later had we not called) but unbelievably, Breakout Mentors' response was "as a small business, we aren't as capable of making price adjustments for mistakes." 4. I run a business as well, and I would never dream of charging clients for consultation time that I was late to, even if I was able to go later, it's so highly unprofessional and disrespectful of the client's time. 5. It's also highly ironic that a business with "mentor" in the name wouldn't take more responsibility for ALL aspects of mentorship, including planning ahead, taking personal accountability, and being on time. We're working with our son to impress upon him never to be even one minute late for a lesson, so it's pretty poor role modeling for his mentor to have to be called in half an hour late. Until Breakout Mentors and its mentors can take more personal accountability for delivering on their promises we can't recommend them.

Brian was exceptionally brilliant in finding the best tutors for my son based not only on the skills level but also on the project that my son had in mind. We prefer two lessons a week schedule, that way the projects they are working on progress with greater speed and there is no need to spend a valuable lesson time to go over the things they learned last time. I would recommend this company to anyone with a kid interested in programming.

The first day my freshman high schooler met with Rishabh, they connected right away. Since Rishabh went through California high schools a few years back, he's very informed about curriculum and also with extracurriculars. He works with the student together to create a study plan for multiple subjects. He keeps a long-term goal to be successful at college admissions - by advising on courses, extracurriculars, and athletics. Rishabh's style is to teach to learn the actual concepts, and not just to memorize for tests or grades. Before Rishabh, most of my child's grades were low Bs, and now it's As across the board. If you're looking for a tutor who will motivate your child to learn, as well as improve grades with a college plan, then I fully recommend Rishabh as the tutor.

Rishabh speaks not only about his classes but his other interests as well -- and this relationship has made my teen trust, respect, and connect with him more.
