Went to get oil change on my eco boost ford escape, and then later in the day got a check engine light. So then took the car to autozone, and was told it was a crank sensor that could be from too much oil or old oil filter but was confused because I had just done a oil change. We checked my car, and the oil way over the Max and the filter looked like it wasn't changed out. Very confused on what they even did and what i paid for, since obviously nothing was done. This place really has mixed reviews that span the gauntlet. I'm willing to bet the turnover is really high here so your experience is going to be based on who is working at the time. A large majority of their employees are 17-year old kids so what do you expect? I've come here twice and think its no better or worse than any other Jiffy Lube, service or price wise. What I do like is that there's a Starbucks next door. Huge points for location, location and location! I hate sitting in those damn lobbies with the only thing to do is watch re-runs on Fox, drink bad coffee, and stare at the next guy. Nothing wrong with this Jiffy Lube. I have taken my Toyota truck here to get services ever since I bought it new 2 years ago. Every 5,000 miles it requires an oil change and tire rotation and I let these guys do it because I can get it done in one spot. Jiffy Lube's computer system keeps track of what Toyota recommends to have done so I am able to get other minor stuff taken care of as well without having to spend extra $$$ at a dealership. It also keeps track of my particular truck's maintenance so I have a record in one location of everything that is getting done. This location changed management towards the end of 2010 which has made things better. Jiffy Lube has a lot of coupon offers both by mail and in person so you can save $10 off your oil change which helps because the oil changes aren't the cheapest. Be aware like most places you will get a sales pitch for upgrades but you can of course always say no because their prices on such are inflated. The only upgrade I have had done is the air filter which is overpriced but for the convenience I will let it slide. I also got my truck's inspection last year done here (I have a minor crack in my tail light but no light is coming through it) and they passed it with no problem. One of the biggest pluses is that in between oil changes you can come into any Jiffy Lube and get the air in your tires re-filled and your fluids topped off at no charge. I came to this Jiffy Lube for a quick oil change before having to drive to Dallas for work with not having high expectations. I was pleasantly surprised by how kind the employees were. They greeted me with a smile, provided the oil change among a couple of other things I asked for, they were efficient, and when I was leaving one of the gentleman saw that my hands were a little full and opened the office door and my car door for me. This is by far the worst Jiffy Lube location I've ever brought my car to for an oil change. There was 1 car ahead of me when I pulled up and my car has now been sitting in a ready position with the hood open for over an hour and a half. There's no prioritization in place and they're very short staffed. While wait times are expected, they've now serviced and pushed out 5 cars (that arrived after mine) while mine remains untouched... they have a $13 online coupon but I rather pay the $13 and have my car in and out in 30 minutes like most oil changing locations. Edit: I also provided my own oil/materials and was charged the full price of an oil change. Usually they only charge for the "labor" portion - not this place. Went to this location for a simple state inspection. After a lengthy wait I received a fail on my 2017 vehicle. I was then told to go to the dealership to get it checked out, which i did and everything came back fine. I came back a few days later for them to try again and their computer wasn't functioning properly and they couldn't process my inspection. Finally the team member told me to just try somewhere else. I went down the street to another NON Jiffy Lube location and my inspection passed without a problem. If they can't get this right, I can't imagine getting anything else done at Jiffy Lube. I was greeted by Albert with a smile. He was polite and friendly. I informed him I needed my oil changed and he assured me I would get fast efficient service. He was correct, the service was fast and efficient. After Albert showed me around (bathrooms, water, etc.), he escorted me to the waiting room where he told me Jesus, his assistant manager, would be right with me to go over my options. The waiting room was clean and inviting. Jesus was very informative and took the time to answer my questions. My car was serviced in approximately 20 minutes including topping off some of the fluids that were low. I would definitely recommend coming here if you want to have fast, friendly, and efficient service. I ,also, recommend downloading a coupon online. This is really the best place for an oil change, my experience has never been anything but perfect. Today my light went on for a oil change and I immediately came in (trying to be proactive like a good adult), and they told me that even though my light did go on, oil changes go most importantly by mileage over anything else. They said "you still have 4,000 miles until you're due and we wouldn't want you to pay for something you don't need. But since you're here, we can do a top off for you free of charge, top up all your fluids and check your tires too." Special shout out to Erik and Rick who took care of me today You guys are awesome!! I've been to a few other places in Austin and this Oltorf/i35 spot has seriously given me the best customer service and really fast service too. Bad customer service this time. I've been coming to this location for at least 3 years. The guys usually are really nice but the new guy, DJ, who came to talk to me about my vehicle (who did not look familiar and already seemed to be irritated) informed me that I had never been here before. I let him know that I had many times and all my information should be in the system. He was quite rude and said, "Well, you still need to get an oil change." He proceeded to ask me if I had changed my license plate. I wasn't sure but I told him he could look it up by the VIN number. So, point being...let's research all avenues before telling a customer that they are wrong.... and an actual smile/good attitude goes a long way. I've also been to the S. Called in and was told would take 30-40 minutes for routine oil change and instruction. When arrived was second in line and confirmed wait. Car was brought into bay after 20 minutes, hood up. After 1 hour they still didn't ask what oil I wanted aNd hadn't started oomph the car. After 90 minutes they were looking at the engine compartment and went to computer (apparently to figure oo but still it what quantity of oil is needed. 2 hours and still haven't asked what oil I wanted and therefore haven't started fill. Expect more than 90 minutes once you car is in one of the 3 bays. Don't know how tHey make any money with zero productivity and horrible customer satisfaction. Gets better. After 2 hours first communication!!! I'm told they don't have the filter so refilled with an oil I didn't approve or have any input on. Oh yea, and no inspection- the main reason i came in as stocker expires in 10 days. Lord have mercy on them. read more

My poor car, Lily - yes, I named my car Lily :) Lily, I neglect you and your regularly required oil changes. I don't mean to hurt you, I just always seem to find an excuse not to take you in. You've always been good to me, never asking for anything more than basic upkeep. Today, I made it up to my car with a trip to Jiffy Lube. Generally, I'm meh about this business; average customer service, and the usual play to try to get me to pay for more services (a reason I dislike dealing with car issues without bringing a male). This location surprised me. My service technician was professional but friendly, leading me personally into the guest waiting area. Again, I was surprised. The waiting area was clean, and smelled nice. Fresh coffee and cold water was available to the customers. The waiting area also featured a flat screen tv that actually worked, with cable. The chairs were most impressive. They were big, comfortable... and leather ( or probably faux leather, but nonetheless still comfortable and clean). These are not the quality of chairs I've ever seen in Jiffy Lubes. On Wednesday, you receive $10 off your oil change. My technician advised me of a couple things, air filter and tire rotation, but didn't make me feel uncomfortable when I turned down the service for right now. For under $30 and about 20 min of my time, oil changed, tires filled, wiper fluid topped off, and interior/dashboard cleaned. I'm impressed Jiffy Lube. Wow! I have never had such a bad experience trying to do something as simple as get a quick oil change and state inspection. I pull up in the designated area, the attendant tells me to put my insurance card on the dash and leave the keys in my car. I left the keys in the ignition, the door open and went inside and I saw other customers were doing. About 5 minutes later a different guy comes inside to tell me that my keys were locked inside my car. Then, they offer ZERO assistance getting the keys out (even though they were responsible for the keys being locked inside in the first place). One guy says "We have a lock kit at Stassney, but I don't know how to use it". Then another guy asks me "don't you have a spare key?" in a tone like I'm a moron. I answer, "No, I don't" to which he replies "No need to be rude, I'm just trying to help". I'm sorry, but someone who does car maintenance for a living can surely help more than asking if I have a spare in a condescending tone, right? Then they all proceeded to stand around and laugh together about the ordeal and ignore me completely which I found extremely distasteful. I ultimately had to call AAA to get the keys out. I left without having any services performed on my car and will not be returning. I wasted almost 2 hours there, long enough to file a formal complaint over the phone with a kind Jiffy Lube customer rep. Accent Auto has my business for now on. read more

For oil changes, I would say Jiffy lube on Oltorf is okay. For car inspections- I would NEVER ever go there again. I got my pretty new car inspected there about a year ago and they failed it. I couldn't understand why because the car is pretty new and I took very good care of it. They said something was wrong with the breaks and it skidded or locked up when they did the break test. I brought it to the Honda Dealership and explained what Jiffy Lube told me. The Honda people were very helpful and took it for a test drive themselves. They said what Jiffy Lube was hearing was my anti lock breaks. I couldn't believe they failed me because of my anti lock breaks. It was such a hassle. I ended up having to have Honda fax over their information to Jiffy Lube and then they passed the inspection for me. The works are fine at doing oil changes, but I wouldn't trust them doing anything else on my car. I give Howdy Honda an A++ on customer service though. If I could give it 0 stars I would. I took my car (2002 VW Golf) to have 1 headlight replaced and get an inspection. That is all. One and a half hours later the "mechanic" advised me that my headlight was broken. I asked him to elaborate and he eventually admitted that they simply did not know how to replace it and that I should have a specialty shop look at it. They went so far as to lie to me and told me that it was literally impossible without specialty tools. " I have replaced them before without problem" I said ... silence. I am a complete auto novice. I googled how to do it and have done it several times before. Its a simple procedure. I thought it would be more convenient to just have it done by the people that were inspecting it which was obviously a terrible decision. See a Real mechanic. A month or so ago, I stopped by for an oil change. I was the only person there. I was excited because they all worked on my jeep and got me out of there in 20 minutes. Vacuumed my car and everything. I get in my car and look over and realize the clothes I had in my back seat from me house sitting were messed with. Someone stole my underwear. I emailed corporate and I had one follow email from them saying they apologize. However I never heard anything back from them. I came here to get a state inspection. When I arrived the first thing I asked was the wait time on the inspection and was told a little over three hours. I told them that was fine and that I would like an oil change as well, gave them my number and keys, and went to the Starbucks next door to study while I waited. Less then an hour later I get a call asking for my info and to talk about what oil I wanted in my car. I was then told the oil change would take 15 minutes and my car would be ready. I asked about the inspection and the guy acted like he had no clue I wanted one, even though he was the same guy who told me it would be a three hour wait. I told him I wanted the inspection and he responded by telling me he thought that guy had already left for the day. Why did he tell me it was a three hour wait if the guy doing the inspections was leaving 20 minutes later?! So I got the oil change, but not the inspection which was the real reason I came there and this will be the last time I ever go to JiffyLube. Completely ridiculous. read more

TERRIBLE. I have gone to Jiffy Lube for many years and understood that my car being a Volkswagan may be a little bit more expensive to get my oil changed. I have paid around 60 dollars the last few times. However this time, I walk in, hand them my keys and say I would like a basic oil change with synthetic oil (knowing it will be around 60 dollars) the manager at this stored came in 15 minutes in my oil change and checked me out. The total will be $115 and I gasped and said no way, I'm not paying that. The manager informed me that my car takes "European synthetic oil and I only have that choice and ask me if I would like to stop the service" I was leaving out of town the next day and I had to get it changed. I looked up previous orders from jiffy order and said I want normal basic oil change and he said he could not change it. Very disappointed that the gentleman had the audacity to rip me off. I usually like this place, but their inspection skills are lacking. Haha. I went there to get my car inspected and it failed because I had a crack in my taillight. Mind you, this same taillight had been cracked for several years and had always passed inspection. I took my car to Southwest Automotive (I LOVE THEM) and they said that if there was no light shining out of the crack and no moisture inside, then it should have passed inspection. So, their inspector is failing cars without good reason. Go there for a quick oil change, but don't get your car inspected because they're unfair and fail your car when it should have passed. read more

I used to take my vehicle to Wal-Mart for a cheap oil change. However, I was always treated as a typical Wal-Mart customer is (that is to say, poorly) and I was accustomed to waiting 1-1.5 hours. However, when I first started going to Jiffy Lube, I was surprised at how quickly they changed my oil (and installed wiper blades). I didn't even have enough time to see Judge Judy complete one court decision in the waiting room. (That is to say less than fifteen minutes for those not familiar with daytime television.) ;) I've been to several locations around the Austin area and the service at each one has been consistently fast and friendly. Terrible and Reckless Service I came in for an oil change a few months ago. I was asked if I wanted to change my air filter and decided to opt out and wait since it was fairly new. Jiffy Lube removed the air filter from my car and did not replace it back in when they were done. So I drove around with the air filter 'hanging' under my hood for while. Do not get anything more than an oil change from this place. They convenced me that my transmission needed to be flushed. I agreed....I was the first one there in the morning and ended up waiting 4 hours till I got my truck. They kept working new cars as mine just sat there. Atleast 20 cars went through before mine was done. And to top it all off. They put my old gasket on the transmission pan. When I asked why would they put a 100,000 mile gasket back on my truck instead of a new one(which is included for free with the transmission package I purchased). He told me that my old gasket is better then the new one they have in the store. Horse S@$t! They can do a quick oil change but don't let them do anything else. read more

I've been bringing my Toyota Matrix here for about 4 years and while it's probably not the absolute best, it's good enough that I've never gone elsewhere. Depending on the guy you get, he may try to sell you on stuff you may or may not need but no one will ever give you crap for not buying the extra services or saying "oh, I'll just wait until next time to get my cabin air filter changed." Plus if you start going to them a lot they keep track of when you need your tires rotated and usually give me $10 off on my oil change regardless of the day/time, and that's really nice. They have a nice waiting room, they're always quick no matter how busy it is, and they'll vacuum your interior and wipe down your front and back windshields and passenger windows with an oil change (good for a person like me who is awful at getting regular carwashes). Yeah, of course they overcharge you for wiper blades and headlight installation and everything that you can buy at a parts store and do yourself, but it is convenient to have everything in one place and not to have to do it yourself. I've also gotten an inspection here a few times and the last time I apparently had a headlight out, and it seems like every time I'm waiting there while someone else is getting an inspection, they always have a headlight out. I was quite hesitant to go to Jiffy Lube since I have had bad experiences with them before. I was pleasantly surprised with the attentiveness, professionalism and the speedy service this particular location had provided. Albert and another guy (sorry, didn't catch his name) were very nice. I know they have a quota of when they need to get done but I didn't feel rushed at all and I'd rather them take their time to make sure my car gets its attention (it has over 137k miles).
