Recent real estate transaction. Very disorganized, last minute processing. My opinion.

I contacted several law firms in an attempt to find to an attorney that could handle a partition suit. I had no luck, in fact, I found an attorney that was willing to handle the case but would charge to research and educate himself in order to litigate. Needless to say, I called Michael and he agreed to take the case; he told me exactly what was involved in this type of suit, what to expect, the estimated cost and the projected time frame to finalize the process. Michael handled the suit with professionalism, reasonableness and great understanding (talking me through every step of the process knowing that this was a very personal issue). I would highly recommend Michael as he went above and beyond what was expected.

I am in the middle of a bitter divorce and my Ex was informed she could sell our house at anytime…read moreas long as I was kept in the loop. My Ex contacted http://www.bridgeportrealtygroup.com/ and Sheila Messer. We had met with Sheila before and discussed selling the house. Without my knowledge my Ex and Sheila Messer listed the house and started excepting bids without informing me. Sheila never once tried to contact me or get my approval even though she was fully aware that this house was in the middle of bitter divorce. Not only was the house listed it was listed more than $20,000 under its market value in my belief in order for Sheila to gain a quick sale and move on since ex is a teacher with little understanding of business. I found out about my house being on the market, I found out about this via a call from my lawyer that a real-estate lawyer of my Ex's and Sheila's Choosing named Nicolas Parish (http://jfklegal.com/our-attorneys/) that an offer had been made on the house, Needless to say I was stunned! I requested that we pull back and reassess the situation because this is the biggest financial transaction of my life. Instead of doing so my Ex, Sheila and a lawyer of their choosing Mr. Nicholas Parish decided to take this to court and force the sale of the house via court order. In my belief both Sheila and Mr. Parish have put profit above their clients best interest. Mr. Parish was hostile to me from the get go and mentioned numerous times that the sale of this house will go through no matter what and complained about how little he was making on this transaction for the amount of work he was putting into it. Now sheila did admit she made a "big mistake" and was sorry but beyond that shes done nothing to correct the problem besides get my lawyer yes thevlawyer im paying to tell me to stop but remember he is impartial even though he has verbally ordered me to "just sign the papers" without explaination. I've talked to numerous real-estate agents and every one of them said the ethical and right thing to do is have both parties involved in a divorce involved and informed of the sale of a house before it is ever listed, every one of these agents said every agent knows this, period! I am currently looking into filing ethical charges against Sheila Messer and Bridgeport realty group with the National Association of Realtors. I am writing this to let everyone know what transpired and how I was treated I do not know if any laws were actually broken but please keep in mind I was Sheila Messer and Nicholas Parishes paying customers in the end. I am not writing this out of vengeance or a need to attack but out of a need to inform that in my belief the sale of my house the house I designed and built was not handled in a responsible manner nor was the best price sought. I will not discuss this further but keep in mind in the end I was a paying customer, Keep in mind between Shelia Messer and Nicolas Parish they will net thousands of dollars in profit off of this sale. No matter what they use as a defense keep in mind one phone call to me from Sheila or Mr. Parish would have resolved all of this before the house was listed. One has to question why she didn't attempt to contact me and why the house was listed as a fire sale? Hopefully you found this post informative and hopefully you will have a better experience when buying or selling a home.

I had a good amount of battles in family court and worked with multiple attorneys. When lmet Peggy…read moreM. Raddatz, it was clear she was the right choice. She is principled, caring, and handles business with a firm fist. She fought for me in my last three cases, and we came out victorious. lt's notjust about winning or losing; it's about what's best for the child. And that's what Peggy delivers. I'm so grateful, thank you.

I found Peggy after googling and reading about 100+ reviews. She was very helpful in making…read moreeverything very straightforward and simple. Many times I wanted to put super specific language in there to address potential fears of mine but 99% of the time, they were items that weren't enforceable, were already covered by law, or were things she encouraged I keep a more open mind about. She spends a ton of time in the courtroom, is familiar with all the Cook County judges, and has decades of experience so I appreciated how black and white she made things. Peggy is very direct and concise. In our initial interview, she cut me off a time or two because I was apparently talking more than listening. At first, I was turned off by it (even though it was true lol) but I immediately saw it as an advantage with opposing counsel and I was 100% correct about that. If you're a person who likes control or is long-winded and isn't used to constructive feedback, consider this an opportunity to work on that because I actually quickly grew out of the experience. She has only 100% of your best interest at heart and I could tell that during the interview. She was also very personable, and I really appreciated how well she could relate to my situation. We had several really good discussions not only as attorney/client but also as single parents; she's further ahead in this process than me and really opened my eyes in a few areas (*cough* giving them mobile phones when they get older *cough*). As a techie, I was looking for more digital redlining, PDF editing etc but we did most everything via email modifications. It ended up being ok and made it super easy for me to search for emails with any changes that were made. She's always available via text but please don't misuse that or else she'd never have time to get things done; she (or her paralegal) is super responsive via email as well. Cost-wise, pay the flat fee upfront and you will save $10K minimum easily and my situation was pretty straightforward and easy in comparison to most people. I had a great experience and outcome in my divorce proceedings and would recommend Peggy to handle things.
