As a business owner with an online presence myself, I am hesitant to leave negative reviews unless they are a reflection of the company as a whole, and not of one individual representing the company. In the instance case I believe this negative review is more than warranted, and I implore any one reading this to view the photos I have attached to my review on their Facebook page for a fuller and more complete understanding of my experience with the Jim Ross Law Group (I could not upload photos to this site). They validate my one-star review and hopefully deter anyone from making the same mistake that I did. This firm burned through my $3000 retainer in less than a month and did NOTHING in my case. They drummed up billable hours that were either blatantly false or played no part in achieving my legal ends. I am blown away by how poorly this firm handled my time-sensitive issue, as well as their communication skills. I cannot speak for all the glowing reviews on here, but I can definitely relate to and sympathize with all the negative reviews. To be fair.....maybe I just had a bad experience and it is not the norm. But this is a law firm - not a restaurant. Do you really want to take a chance with your legal issues, which in most instances affect the rest of you or your loved one's lives, on a firm that can so easily disregard their duties while deliberately bilking their client's out of their money after failing to follow through on the stated objectives. Mr. Ross sounded like a great guy on the phone. He was able to lure me in with my money, and that is hard to do. He looked great on paper and his online presence is what convinced me to go with him. However, after seeing how he allows his underlings and associates to act so unprofessionally and unscrupulously concerning their duties - fiduciary or otherwise - even after he was put on notice, I cannot in good conscience trust that he will manage the affairs of my city any different. Stay away from this law firm! We hired the firm for a breach of contract on home construction. We stayed with the firm for nine months. Our first attorney left us without a word. The case then fell on another lawyer who also left the firm without tell us. They would not communicated with us to update our case. We can't get a hold of our lawyers; they did not response or call you back. We called the office on a daily basic, but no one in the firm bothered to response. I have had my case for 11 months with Jim Ross Law group and have not been contacted since paying for my retainer fee. I have had 3 different lawyers at this firm in this time, and each one stated they would give me a call to discuss my case and only once did that ever happen (then that lawyer quit without even telling me). I only even found out my lawyer got changed 3 times because I call every couple of months for an update, just for them to respond by asking who I am and what do I need! There must be internal issues to have lawyers that quit so often. I am just as far as day one with my case, and I am disappointed that I kept having faith in them. They do not communicate well. You send emails and get responses back saying they will check and get back to you. They never get back to you. They receive papers that need to be processed and sent on, and they sit on their desk for 25 days until you ask what is going on. They blame everything on the paralegal. Stay away from this law firm, they have major problems getting back to their clients. I have had them over a year in a divorce case and every time I call there is a new person at desk. You will have to leave several messages by voice mail and find they absolutely do not get back with you. I changed to another one of their attorney's after complaining to the owner of the law firm to find out that the next one has not replied to me in 3 1/2 months. Contacted this attorney's legal secretary by email with not reply, only to find out she no longer works there. When you have a trial, they wait to the last minute to get the facts from you. I have had the worst experience with this law firm. When I spoke with Mr. Ross on the phone on day 1, he lured me in and gladly accepted my down payment of $2,000. Never spoke to him again, only his team of lawyers. 4 months later I have a running bill of $9,000 plus and am still no where. I stopped paying them and Now the lawyers tell me we are not a good fit because they have too many clients to answer my questions. In other words, they like to go to court and send me a bill. Never did they ask my opinion on how I want to proceed. I am a client that does not understand the court system which is why I hired/needed a lawyer. It would have helped if Mr. Ross would have explained that in the beginning when I was calling around trying to find the right lawyer for my case. I knew the first time we went to court, I should have fired them. I guess that's why they didn't want me at the first court hearing. I had to insist, practically beg to be there. I am fighting a battle for my 95 year old father of neglect and abuse. Now I am fighting with lawyers on top of trying to make sure my father is taken care of. Stay away from this firm. Had to deal with multiple attorneys, high turnover rate. No representation. I have the body cam from officer with vehicle positions, obvious who's fault it is. Accident report states it is the other persons fault from the accident investigator. The lady that hit me says multiple times in the interview " I just don't know what happened". When she gets to her insurance, she says I veered into her lane. She has nothing stating in her favor and these guys cannot prove anything. Naturally her insurance will take her word over mine because they are the one paying. Insurance and attorneys are a joke these days. Nice job guys! read more

They forgot about my case for 6 months! Their communication was non-existent. I call and email to try to get updates and no one reaches back to me. It's been months since I've last heard anything. They don't return calls. The office is lax. They promptly charge you though! They do not give updates on your case. They do not keep their word on what they are gonna do. IF I COULD GIVE A NEGATIVE STAR AS THE RATING, I MOST CERTAINLY WOULD One of the biggest mistakes that I have ever made was coming to these guys for help. I had the simplest cases imaginable for a law firm to take on, I just needed them to file one simple settlement agreement, I was told if both parties agreed (which we have), that it would be wrapped up within 30 days, that was on June 30, 2016, it is now Jan. 3rd and this case is still open and on going and absolutely NOTHING has been resolved! I was told to go ahead a pay the settlement check in October, which I did, and to this day my paychecks are still being garnished as if no payment was ever made. So now, not only have I paid the other party in full, but I also have paid an additional almost $2000 on top of that via paycheck deductions. I have reached out to Jim Ross' family law team and all they say is that the judge signed off on it.........THAT'S IT! No additional help or suggestion or nothing!! All the while they steady send me a monthly invoice chipping away at my retainer money even though they have done nothing to earn that. Word to the wise, if you have a family law issue, do yourself a huge favor and SHOP AROUND!!! These people have lied to me from day one and are extremely unprofessional and are just con-artist! I went in for a uncontested divorce. Jim was real nice in our initial interview, of course. Once I hired them, I couldn't get any answers and never got called back. I always had to call back to get directed to my attorneys voice mail. I'd state what I needed and never got a call back. I always felt like I was bothering them. At least the receptionist was nice. When I did get someone on the phone, even for a minute, I was charged. Even if all they said was that they had no new updates. How can it take 6 months for a uncontested divorce with no kids? Once Mr. Ross got involved he worked with me to right the situation. I feel his make good was genuine and sincere.

It took almost two years for a personal injury case and out of the 15 grand the insurance awarded me I got 2 thousand while they got over 7 thousand and that was after Jim told me his self that at the least i would get half of the remaining balance after medical bills are taken out. Oh and all this knowing I am nearly homeless with an infant. I wouldn't even give them one star. read more
