If I had to put it in words, it's like those people you meet who have read about humour in a book but never seen it done and attempt it anyway. It's not wrong, but it definitely ain't right. The fries had no actual chilli on them. As in beef chilli, pork chilli, whatever chilli you like as long as it is slow cooked and meaty. What they had was some kind of Louisiana Hot Sauce which they swore was Franks but like no Franks I had ever tasted, mayonnaise and melted cheese. It was like a French Canadian's attempt at Chilli Cheese Fries. It was this same pseudo-Franks that they used on the Hot Wings, the sauce and NOTHING ELSE. No butter, no cayenne, no paprika, no garlic powder, no vinegar, no Worcestershire sauce, no good. I really wanted to like this place but by the end of the meal Bill was dragging me out as I attempted to find the chef to share my own Buffalo Wing recipe with him. Bill hates a scene. The place is very casual. The restaurant has a peculiar set up. Half of it is a convenient store while the other half is the kitchen. The dining experience is not fancy. Select your combo, pay for it, wait for it to be ready, take away and dine it anywhere. Outside the store, outdoor parasol and benches are provided! To be honest, as long as the food taste great at a reasonable price; it does not need music and high class decor! The menu varies a little according to the fishing market. So do expect small fluctuations in the menu. I recommend carrying cash to avoid using EFPOS / Credit Card. Card payment attracts a 1.6% surcharge as to date. Onto the menu, there are a bunch of combos you can choose. They offer burgers as well, but why would you? The fish & chips are freshly made in front (which requires a short wait). Staffs is very nice. The restaurant cook also allows you to select a wide range of fish which you can have as your main. I do not have anything positive to say about the chips... The lunch menu is quite traditional, dominated by burgers, fish and chips and other fried seafood options. I went for the $10.50 NZ Hoki and chips, which was a generous size.
