Jimmy Hutte is the alpine refuge next to the lift that gets you to the hiking area of Passo di Gardena.
the refuge is one of the most beautiful that we visited decorated with wooden details and exquisite taste.
The menu is not very large but they were very accommodating of dietary restrictions and were able to make a pasta that was not on the menu to feed our vegetarian friends. All the food was of great quality and the experience was delightful.
the most remarkable food item was Il dolce (the desert). We tried the apple strudel which was amazing with chunky pieces of apple and accompanied by a vanilla cream that was only shadowed by the chocolate lava cake with vanilla ice cream which was out of this world and made to perfection.
the prices were a bit higher than in other rifugi (refuges) but it was a great experience that should not be missed while in the area. read more
Great refugi (refuge, lodge), in a beautiful location at the top of the gondola in the green Sellaronda trail. Amazing views of the mountains, and big patio with lots of seating and even wooden zero-gravity loungers, complete w/ sheepskin to sit on and blanket. I got a spritz and my husband got a beer. They also have snacks. There's even a little playground for the kids! After a day of hitting the slopes, this is the life. read more
