Leah (receptionist) and Leah (estimator) did an excellent job of keeping me informed on the status of repairs to the rear bumper and front fender of my 2011 Toyota Prius. Both had great personalities and made this task almost "fun!" The rear bumper of my Prius was originally replaced by Mikes Auto Body. The repair was never quite correct as the rear bumper kept popping out of its retaining clips and the seam between the body and bumper were never aligned and wide. I complained about this issue on several occasions to the staff at Mikes. After speaking to the service advisor at Crash Champions (new owners of Mikes Auto Body), I brought my car in to have the rear bumper fixed . The site manager contradicted the service advisor and refused to honor the work done by Mikes and told me it would cost me $250.00 just for them to inspect the rear bumper. I found Jim's Auto Body on a YELP search. I called the shop, had my car inspected ( for free), and had both the front fender and rear bumper repaired. The rear bumper on my Prius now looks a whole lot better than it did when it was installed by the people at Mikes Auto Body. The seams between the bumper and metal of the car are now properly aligned and the gap between the bumper and body of the car is closed. Both Leah's keep me informed on the progress of the repairs including showing me the problem with original bumper (the original bumper was a certified OME part). From this experience, I highly recommend this shop for body work. Unfortunately, the shop does not work with USAA insurance. BTW, I paid for the car repairs at Jim's Auto Body on my own (no insurance involved). read more

I strongly discourage anyone from trusting this company. I took my daughter's car for a cosmetic repair to the passenger door. I was told if I brought the car in before 10am on Tuesday, it would be ready that Friday. There was no call on Friday from the shop, so I called and I was told it was not ready and it would most likely be ready early the following week. I called the following week and was told that the car hadn't even been sent to production. Had I known, we would have dropped off the car later so that my daughter wouldn't be without transportation since the car was just sitting in the shop that entire time. Fast forward to later that week, we call again for status. We were told that there was an oversight on the estimate provided because the associate, Perry, missed that there was a dent. How do you miss a dent?! The very reason why we took the car in the first place. He thought it was just a paint repair and so he gave us the new quote which was obviously more than what was originally agreed upon. So we are now over a week and a half and they haven't started working on the car. The following Wednesday, which is now two weeks and an extra $400 later, we get a call letting us know that the car is ready. We get there to pick it up only to find a significant scratch on the spoiler that was absolutely not there when we initially dropped off the car. They could not find pictures that would prove that the car already had the scratches (BTW - it's a brand new car purchased in July 2021). We were told "we'll take your word for it and fix it free of charge". The nerve after the horrific experience thus far, they would damage our car AND act as though they're doing us a favor by fixing it. We picked up our car on Friday. There was absolutely no acknowledgement of their multiple errors and lack of communication. We instead were told by Perry "we do great work". If great work means that customers have to proactively call to get updates on multiple delays, being charged extra for their blatant oversight and having your car damaged further by being in their possession, then yes, they do great work. Needless to say, I will never be doing business with Jim's Auto Body again. read more

After not so cleverly bumping into a shoe rack in my garage, sadly I had to find an auto body shop to repair and repaint the front bumper of my beautiful 2021 Mustang GT. After getting three estimates, I chose the least expensive (not by too much) estimate based on reviews. I was pretty direct with the estimator and just about everyone else I encountered, regarding my expectations...I want my "baby" back in the condition I brought it, with the exception, no damage. So, I picked it up this afternoon and what did I get...Perfection!!! Perry, the estimator and everyone else I encountered at Jim's, were professional, courteous, respected my desires and went to whatever lengths needed to do a really beautiful job. I was driving by this place and I was just reminded of my bad experience here, thought I'd share. I got into a small wreck and my car needed repairs. Just so happens this body shop was by my house. Stopped in and there were two, older white males sitting at a desk, no one else besides me inside their establishment. I stood there for at least 10 maybe 15 minutes without a simple "hello" or "we'll be with you in just a minute." Back then I didn't speak up as much but I wish I had since neither were on the phone, they were just staring at their computers almost like a game they had between each other where they waited for the other to talk first. Probably would have a great laugh after work. I started to walk out and then one guy stood up and said, "okay, okay what do you need?". I said it's okay and just left. I had a head on collision with my car and Jim's Auto Body was recommended to me on NextDoor.com as well as my insurance company. My claim's manager first sent me to Cook's Collision, whom told me I could bring my car in but it would sit for a month. I hate driving rental cars that long and Cook's Collision didn't impress with with their public feedback. I did find Jim's Auto Body and they were able to see me for a consult two days later and take my car that Monday, while having it complete on Thursday. They even detailed the car. It looks better than ever. And it was so convenient that Enterprise Rental Car was a one minute walk away. I'm not going to say they're inexpensive. They're efficient. They get the job done correctly but my damage caused them to replace the front bumper. It is a body shop and dents are pricey. But you really get what you pay for. Or what your insurance pays for. I was referred here by my Subaru dealership (across the street from Jim's) a couple years ago when I was rear-ended, and they did a fantastic job and were very easy to work with. After camping, noticed some scratches on my car and brought it in, prepared for a long, expensive cleanup... The customer service is great. The communication is great as well. They text you updates as well as call. They definitely keep you in the loop the entire time. When I picked up my car I was shocked to see how great of a job they did. Looked brand new. They wash as well. If you have AAA you can drop the car rental to them as well and they take care of it. What a great experience after the not-so-great experience of a fender bender. I wanted to get two estimates for the work. I first went to another body shop with whom we've done business with in the past and had good experiences. After two visits to them (no one available to give an estimate), I was told to come back a third time. Immediately after my first visit there, I drove to Jim's Auto Body on N. Main Street in Walnut Creek for my second estimate. Josh gave me an estimate within five minutes. Not a difficult decision to choose Jim's Auto Body! :) Leah, the receptionist is friendly, yet professional. She was easy to work with and helped the process go smoothly. Jim's Auto Body has plenty of parking and a welcoming reception area with snacks, coffee, and a refrigerator with water and soft drinks. Within 10 days, I had an appointment to have the work done. I took my Highlander in on a Monday morning and had it back by Wednesday evening (two days later!) They had also washed my vehicle! (Looked like they vacuumed it as well!) I was very impressed with all aspects of my experience with Jim's Auto Body. And they are on the approved list of body shops with Farmers Insurance. This review is based on Customer Service alone. I was in a car accident and Jim's is a preferred body shop of my insurance company that is close to my house so that's why we chose them. After being there for two days our estimator called my husband (who didn't drop off the car and was not involved in the accident) and asked about the damage and said that it was from an old incident. My husband left me a voicemail regarding the conversation and I called the estimator back. The individual I spoke to ACCUSED me of lying about the accident stating that the accident couldn't have happened like I said it did. He then said that my husband gave him a different account of the accident. I was confused and informed him that my husband wasn't even involved so I don't know why he would even say that. I called my husband after I completed the call and my husband said that was a complete lie. Needless to say we are having our insurance company move our car to a different collision shop. TL;DR - Horrible experience, would not recommend and would never return. read more

With the frustrations of dealing with my first car accident just right before a vacation, I was not in any particular good mood. Angry due to the other insurance company, and being told that I may have to pay my deductible, did not make me a very happy client. I took out my aggression out on Kenny Heumann, who remained polite, courteous, and professional. I'd highly recommend working with Kenny, as few can have an angry client/customer and still be as courteous as he was with me. After bringing my car up front, we did a walk around of my newly detailed car. Checked for any imperfections, which he personally hand buffed the two minor spots. Pros: Awesome customer experience. Work was quick. Checked my car with me during the walk around. Detailed the outside of the car. Filled my gas tank with gas. Gives you warranty and other information in a handy packet. read more

WOW!!! Talk about AMAZING customer service. We unfortunately found damage caused to our car by a very unpleasant person. My insurance provided Jim's Auto to do the body work on my Blue 2 door Honda Civic. They were very helpful and did amazing work, the car looks brand new. They provide a shuttle to take you to where you need to go after you've dropped off your car. I received a phone call to confirm they had my vehicle and was doing the work and another the next day when it was complete to update what time to pick it up. A few weeks later, I received a thank you card in the mail with the managers business card for their business and to make sure that we had a good experience. Luis (my estimator) was extremely efficient with the initial inspection and estimate, and was very willing to accommodate my changing schedule (I had to move my drop-off date three times, with little notice). More than the professionalism of the staff, though, is their courteousness - every person I spoke to was very friendly, and epitomised the kind of customer service that is unfortunately altogether rare these days. I needed a repair for some pretty severe damage to almost my entire passenger side, through Progessive (who are total sticklers for covering OEM parts) - JOSH was so wonderful, very helpful, professional, and courteous, and definitely made my repair process as painless as possible! Great customer service overall, all the staff is friendly and professsional, and Josh told me that their goal is to make their customers as happy as possible, which I truly believe! He kept me well-informed through the processes, and even provided genuine and helpful guidance for matters I had to decide upon (I was considering paying out-of-pocket for the differences for OEM parts). They told me that they have a great price-matching team, and they proved it! - I ended up getting the majority of my parts OEM through insurance, when the initial estimate was only one OEM part. Great experience at Jim's Auto Body! I went in today after having a bad experience with their competition next door. I used Jim's about 8 years ago and had a great experience then. I initially went with their competition because that's who my insurance company, State Farm, tried to get me to go with. I had a really bad experience with the competition (Cooks Collision), but my experience at Jim's could not have been better. The woman who greeted me was friendly and efficient. She took my insurance paperwork, asked me to have a seat, made a copy of everything and then returned it to me in the lobby. She told me that an estimator would be right with me. Within moments a guy came up and introduced himself. We went to look at my car. He took his time reviewing my insurance estimate and my car. He took pictures and asked questions. It was clear that he wanted to get to know as much about my car and the necessary repairs as he could. He told me that he would have parts back in 2 - 3 days and they could begin work then. He said to wait until then to bring my car in and that would cut down on my rental costs. He went over the process for payment (insurance/deductible). When your car is damaged you want a facility that knows how to make quality repairs and understands customer service. Jim's Auto Body has it all. read more

They were able to give me an estimate of when my car would be ready right away and then were even done with the work a day earlier than promised. When I needed things out of my car they let me come by and get them without any hassle. They were also happy to accommodate me when I wasn't able to pick my car up during their business hours. And I was thrilled when I picked my car up and found that they had detailed the inside. It was above and beyond service. This was about a month ago and so far I haven't had any problems with the work they did. I would definitely do business with them again, although, since it would mean something had happened to my car, I kind of hope I never need to again. read more

After reading the many negative comments on Yelp about Cooks, I chose Jim's. Very happy with my experience at Jim's. Staff is very professional, courteous, helpful and extremely accommodating. My car was repaired to my satisfaction and completed a day sooner than originally promised. Also conveniently located two doors away from Enterprise Car Rental for easy pick up/drop off of my rental during the repair. Jim's does offer shuttle service which I didn't need. Sad to say The Bearmobile had to visit Jim's! However, once they took over, the experience was painless and smooth. Jim's did a fairly good job of keeping me up-to-date with progress and the work was first-class. The cool little coffee mug that was waiting in my cup holder was a classy touch! Five stars - but don't take it personal when I say "hope I never come there again" LOL! UPDATE: In the weeks since the repair work, an annoying rattle developed in the door that was part of the work. Dana Auld, an estimator at Jim's, responded to my email immediately, and even arranged for the technician who did the repair work to come in on Saturday, the only day I could make the trip to Walnut Creek. I went to this place after a car accident. A man estimated the damages to my vehicle. Then told the insurance company that mechanical damages from the car accident were not caused by the accident. The man has no mechanical skills or knowledge. He specializes in body work but has literally no knowledge on the mechanics of a car, so him talking about it to the insurance company was out of line. The insurance company obviously did not listen to the man, but it still rubbed me the wrong way. The appraiser is an absolute joke and for that reason, I can't recommend anyone to go here. read more

Last month Had my car repaired here after someone hit my bumper. Got it done within the week picked it up and came home only to find 2 new scratches on the bumper. Took it back next morning, manager debated with me on how this was not there fault must have happened when he hit my bumper. Finally got them to fix it. ONLY now I was at Safeway and noticed that one of the screws to my back license plate was missing got home to check and found they stripped the right screw hole and completely redrilled the other one! I took my 2017 GMC Terrain in to have the driver's door repaired from a little battle I had with a concrete pillar. They were able to work the dents out, painted and got it back to me very quickly. I dropped it off on a Sunday afternoon, and it was ready by Thursday. This is not the first time I've used this business for auto body repair. I had two other incidents where someone else struck my vehicle, and used them for my insurance-funded repairs. In all cases, they were courteous and efficient. I very seldom write Yelp reviews, and only do so if I am moved to do so by an experience that is either extremely good or extremely bad. My experience at Jim's Auto Body was so amazing I just had to share it. I was at Jim's getting some damaged trim replaced on my Chevy Volt. They did it while I waited, it took less than 15 minutes, and the whole thing cost only $140 ($110 for the part, $30 to remove the old trim and install the new one). Already, I was a very happy camper. But, that is not why I am writing this review. While I was there, I noticed one of the salesmen rubbing the side of a late-model SUV, while the owner watched. When he came back into the shop after saying goodbye to her, he explained to the other salespeople that she had a scratch on the side of her car, and he was able to rub it out so that it was virtually invisible. He had done it for free, just because that was the right thing to do. Apparently, the two other car repair places in town had wanted to charge her between $1500 and $2000 to get out the scratch. The salesman commented, "Here, we just don't take advantage of people that way. Hopefully, the customer will remember that we helped her out and will come back when she has a real problem. But, either way, it's just the right thing to do." Wow! If only every place had this same attitude. Without even trying, Jim's has won me over. I can't imagine taking my car anywhere else. read more

Today i had the most horrible experience with this auto body shop . My car was sent there by Progressive i s. Company in Jan. 2017 early April i noticed that my trim was missing and my bumper was seperating. I was instructed to bring my car in and now they are refusing to stand by there poor poor poor workmanship.
