Friends went 3 days without their luggage, while they sat in a hotel room nearly 2 hours drive away. Our hotel highly recommended Allan , and I now see why. I called him, told him my friends situation, and he then responded to the airport on their behalf. He tracked down the missing luggage, and then delivered it to us at the group's hotel. On top of that, he refused to accept what my friends were willing to pay, taking a far less sum. We used him twice during our week in North Berwick....both times stellar service. There's a small waiting room posted in between the main entrance and the restrooms. They have the usual pamphlets and such for those visiting the area. We didn't spend a whole lot of time in the station itself. We were on a tight timeline to walk to Belhaven, and when we returned, we slipped in the front door and kept walking right onto the outbound train. We did stop long enough to notice that it's a clean station, and that the employees we encountered were friendly and helpful for those who had questions along the way.

As they are part of TfE, you can buy something called a County Plus day ticket which gives you unlimited access to their services, Lothian daytime services and all tram stops except the airport. You can also upgrade to the Network day ticket which is the same as County Plus but you can get to the airport by tram, and you can access Airlink and Skylink. Since you can use all of Edinburgh's transport with these deals, it is much better than what First was. Getting from Dunbar to Edinburgh only costs £5.60 for a return - by train it would cost £11. Although it takes longer, it is much better value. I now like buses! I used to be quite doubtful but now I am a fan.

So as I was walking about Kirkcaldy, I thought that I would pay the newly refurbished bus station a visit. And after wandering about it for a while I decided that it looked pretty good. It's in a great location, with it being less than a minutes walk from the high street and main shopping centres! It has new bus shelters with updated digital notices on buses, very helpful indeed. Also, the main bus station building has been upgraded with a seating area, a shop and a small cafe, which does teas, snacks and sandwiches. The station has been given a breath of fresh air and has been reinvigorated for the twenty first century!

Kirkcaldy`s bus station used to be an eye sore as it had become very run down over the years. It…read morehas had a major revamp in recent times and now takes pride of place opposite the town house. The new bus station has a very modern feel to it and it also has a nice cafe to relax in whilst waiting to travel rather than the horrible old cafe that used to look and feel very gruby. The revamp to this station took a lot longer than thought with the first contractors going bust in the middle of the job but now it is done it looks and feels a much better place.
