I went into the session with high hopes, which quickly faded as the photographer did not give great instruction, used boring light, had bad texture in my photos, and it just didn't feel very flattering or nice. Every pose she put me in felt very strained. The angles she used really made me feel uncomfortable. I had poses I had wanted to use, but she argued against it, so I stopped trying to convince her and chose to have some faith in her ability.
I would have liked some much better posing and lighting, my photos came back much too dark, I could hardly see any details in it. I would have also preferred and a more professional atmosphere. Seeing as it is a business run from her home, it was casual but I felt that it was not a good quality business.
I also was very disappointed in the photographer as a whole, a mutual friend had showed me that she -after our session- looked through the photos with someone outside of the business, as well as mocked and bad-mouthed my photos and my body. As someone who has always struggled with body-image issues, I am very hurt. For a boudoir photographer who preaches acceptance and love for all woman, I left our session feeling completely misled. Extreme waste of time, money, and effort. Never again.
