I was referred to Bree by a good friend of mine, so despite living in Chula Vista, I had to trust my friend and see what was up. I'm so incredibly happy that I did, because Bree ended up doing an incredible job. I have thick curly hair, so people tend to be rough and not very cautious when cutting my hair. Bree acknowledged all of my requests, plus, held great conversation (which is a major plus for me). Let me start by saying I grew up in NY and live in CT. I have had my haircut by some AMAZING craftsmen all over the years. But when I find a neighborhood spot, I stick with it. This is now a HUGE problem. Because I now have to take a 6 hour flight to get a fresh cut. I did my research. Location, reviews, barbers. The result was that JJs was the spot to try. So I got off the plane in SD and headed right to PB to see them. Nam was simply amazing. He listened and cut my hair perfectly. Even showed me what I've been doing wrong for YEARS. While vacationing in San Diego it was time to get a hair cut. I used my yelp app to find a selection of barber shops. Jj was nearby and had a fair amount of good reviews. Anyway, when I got there, it was empty and an older dude was sitting in one of the chairs. He was obviously the barber and beckoned me to come in and have a seat. He asked me how I wanted it. "One on the sides and trim the top" Should be easy. I also asked him if I could get a shave and trim my beard. Of course he could. He took his time making sure everything was even. I was very happy with his precision cut. He used different creams and oils when shaving my face, back of head and neck. I even got a shampoo to get rid of access hair. When he shaved my face he used a straight razor and put a hot towel on my face. Talk about old school! I was there for a about an hour. They've got TVs to help pass the time and I didn't have to worry about small talk. Including the shave and shampoo, it cost me around $30. This place was worth it. read more
