Thank you JJ's for making it very easy to order, pay, pick up, having utensils and serving spoons. I can't thank you enough. When I went in to pick up order it was ready to go. I was greeted quickly and one of the employees quickly came over to help me. She was very nice and professional. She quickly picked up a box and said let's go. Everything at JJ's was good. Friendly and helpful staff. Explained the most popular kittens as well as have is tips on how to order. The for was again good. The grilled pita and hummus was tasty. We also ordered a Mexican rice bowl on rice that we changed to a burrito and substituted steak for pork. Taste was good but the was certainly freshness. Such a great choice for food in this area! Walked it and staff was so friendly. The time was night but you can be assured that the food was soooo fresh, perfect amount of seasoning and great variety. One of the people who has eaten a wide variety of foods and loves Mediterranean food, said that it was the best tabbouleh he ever had. I had a Mexican bowl that was outstanding. There are several options of things to add to your order (3 types of rice, 2 types of beans, chicken, beef, pork and 2 styles of veggies as well as a number of other additions). Absolutely excellent first time here. I have had this place on my to-so list for quite awhile and it did not disappoint. From food to service the experience here was top notch. To start when we walked in we were instantly greeted by all the staff. As this is a build your own bowl concept the process took a few to figure out what we wanted, and this isn't your typical ingredients list so it takes a bit to figure out what you are doing, but the staff is patient and helpful. When adding items to bowl the employee would happily explain items if needed and warned when there were up charges when they would apply, which I appreciate the upfront nature. When putting items on, the employee happily added extra when asked. Upsells were offered but never in a pushy manner, which was also appreciated. The food itself is excellent and very flavorful. Being as the food is fusion there is a wide variety of flavor going on, but everything is well seasoned without being overpowering. My wife had a steak bowl on the brown rice with lentils, mushroom, broccolini, and pickled onions topped with tabbouli and tzatziki with feta cheese. My bowl was brown rice with pork, picked onions, eggplant/squash and topped with Pico de Gallo, tabbouleh, tzatziki and feta cheese, finished with chimmichurri on the side. All the flavors on both dishes were awesome, and I am already ready to return here. If you ever find yourself in the neighborhood I highly recommend you drop in. read more

I asked many questions about the ingredients and the guy taking our order was so polite and answered all of them without getting annoying. This is a Mexican and Mediterranean fusion food place with a kind of Chipotle concept. They have great options. They have such a wide selection of fresh items and meats and you can get it in different ways. I decided to get a bowl with spicy rice, lentils, chicken, veggies and eggplant, pico de gallo, tabouleh, feta, tzatziki. Being that they have both Mexican and Mediterranean components, I was a little concerned that the flavors wouldn't mesh well. I tried the J- Bouli bowl. I chose steak, rice with lentils, lentils and taboululah topped with grilled onion, feta and tzatziki. Man, was this delicious! Steak was perfect and everything tasted so fresh! The line tenant did a great job of walking us through the different options and was very welcoming. Holy tabouleh that's good! I visited JJ's for the first time on Friday evening, and was warmly greeted by two folks who I am assuming are the owners. They were very friendly and gave me a tour of the menu. I was excited to try their tabouleh, as I was informed it was made in-house. So good! It almost had a creamy flavor to it, I am assuming from using good olive oil. I plan to try the hummus next time. The place was quiet and almost empty when I got there, but by the time I left it was getting busy. The dining area is set up like a Chipotle, where you order at the counter and they build your meal in front of you. I like to think of it as a Mediterranean Chipotle. I ordered a rice bowl with tabouleh, chicken, veggies, and some tzatziki sauce. With my yelp check-in I received a free bag of pita chips, which were nice and crispy. I dipped them into my bowl and chowed down! The food was fresh and delicious. I really enjoyed the flavors and left full and happy. Wow! Seriously, just wow! The food is so fresh, the portions are huge, and the flavors are simply exciting! I had the "J-Bouli" bowl which has Tabbouleh as the base, then I added eggplant, zucchini, peppers, onions, mixed greens, feta, tzatziki, and a little brown rice with lentils. This was probably the best "bowl" style meal I've ever had!! The prices are soooooo cheap for what you get and you can absolutely get something vegetarian, low carb, high protein, low fat, literally whatever you want! You can also load it up and get as many toppings as you want! Here is my only word of caution. I can't believe I admitting this online, but if you're a curvy person like me, you will despise their chairs. They are soooo uncomfortable and definitely not made for anyone with hips. The name of this place might be misleading to some. That's right, it's actually not an Alabama southern diner - but a nicely done Mediterranean meets Fresh-Mex Chipotle knock-off (a la...choose & point, throw it all in a bowl). Overall, it's pretty tasty comfort food for me...with room for just a little improvement. (But, lots of room to grow, add new options, feature limited-time only choices, etc.) Your choices include 3 kinds of rice ( I almost always go with the Mexican rice); black beans or lentils (I usually always go lentils); 3 meat varieties including steak, chicken, or pork (I'm pretty confident pork is the best), roasted peppers/onions or eggplant; pico de gallo or tabbouleh (always get the tabbouleh); feta or cheddar jack (I usually don't get cheese); and, either tzatziki or sour cream. You can also add hummus or guacamole, and the spicy habenero sauce or tomato salsa. Pita or tortillas chips are also available, as well as beer/wine. The pork can be a little greasy (especially combined with the lentils) but I like grease - besides, the pork is easily the best protein, as the chicken is a little plain for me, and the steak too well-done (or perhaps a better cut of meat would work here?). You do need to be careful for giant pieces of fat lingering in the pork waiting to trick you. Occasionally, the peppers & onions look a little scary but they taste good.... Service is quick and very friendly - except on the rare occasion that the crew is all standing in the back. I have been a handful of times now, and for the most part I enjoy it - but each trip back, I might be just a little less satisfied than the previous time. Their service is very personalized though - and they will accommodate you in sampling, as well as putting together whatever kind of bowl you want . A few of the items are a little inconsistent regarding the preparation...the tabbouleh was different a few times; the hummus tasted bland the second time I got it; and the pico de gallo can be pretty watery and lacking in flavor. When I popped in late once, I got the last bag of pita chips...ridiculously stale, so be careful as it gets closer to closing time. Overall - a great, local alternative to Chipotle or any other fill-your-bowl fast-casual spot - but I hope they start making smaller, more frequent batches of some of the products so they are consumed faster. My experiences have ranged from 5 stars to 3 stars - but I am definitely a fan, and will be back often! read more

Wow I was surprised by this place! I went in thinking it would be BBQ of some kind, but was totally wrong. Think of J.J.'s as Chipotle with a Mediterranean twist.
