Established in 1978.

JLA Music was established in 1978 by Jeff Anvinson, who first played background music for special occasions and taught private guitar lessons. Over time the business grew to provide other music services, such as singing telegrams, music transcription, other music lessons (piano, electric bass, snare drum, recorder, music theory, ear training, music technology, Ukulele, etc.), audio recording and production, original music compositions, music arrangements, and more. It is now a full-featured music services company providing a wide range of services.

Meet the Business Owner: Jeff A.

Jeff Anvinson, owner/operator of JLA Music, has over forty years of very broad experience in the music field. He has performed hundreds of times in the US, China, and Canada in a wide variety of settings. His recordings and videos are available on iTunes, Amazon, CDBaby, YouTube, and elsewhere. He has created hundreds of arrangements and many compositions for a wide range of instrumental combinations. He has been published more than twenty times in several periodicals and a newspaper. After study at three universities, he earned both bachelor's and master's degrees in music and a certificate in management and supervision. He studied orchestration with Pulitzer-prize-winning composer Dominic Argento and performed in several master classes, including one led by multi-Grammy-Award-winning guitarist Sharon Isbin. He has taught at universities, public schools, community education programs, commercial music stores, in private practice, and on the internet.
