    Undercooked catfish.
    Bill B.

First, I had read several great reviews about JLB and they were the driver for our visit. I'm a big fish and chips fan, so rather than a burger, I opted for the fish, which turned out to be catfish, not cod. My mistake. However, even though the meal looked great when it was served, I soon found out that the catfish was undercooked and raw. The fries, hushpuppy, onion rings, and Texas toast were all acceptable, although very greasy, the raw fish was disgusting. I told and showed our server the raw fish and she did offer to prepare a replacement meal of refund our current version. I declined both as I had completely lost my appetite at the time and wanted to get home. The restaurant was quite and clean appearing, so no issues thete.

We finally made the pilgrimage out to JLB's flagship in Fulshear a couple weeks ago--and let me just say... totally worth the hype We went ALL IN: a BBQ burger, that wild burger-with-chicken-on-it situation (you know the one ), an avocado burger, a couple of patty melts, plus both chicken and beef quesadillas. Oh--and a whole lineup of fried potatoes because obviously we needed options Everything came out stacked, juicy, and basically bigger than expected (bring your appetite or a game plan ). Not a single complaint at the table, which is rare when you've got a group ordering half the menu. Staff was super friendly and kept the good vibes going the whole time. Safe to say: we'll be back. This place is a solid win

The cheeseburger was huge and very delicious.

First time here. Just read the reviews and decided to try the place for my husband's birthday. We both like the burgers, it was huge and delicious. We will definitely come back to try other things in the menu.

I rarely give out five stars--but this visit absolutely deserved it! Everything we ordered was delicious, and the quiet, relaxed atmosphere made for an enjoyable meal. The service was friendly and attentive. While the food takes a bit of time to come out, it's always worth the wait. Every visit to this location ends with everyone happy and full. The bathrooms were also impressively clean--a detail that never goes unnoticed. The only thing that could make it perfect? If they served Coke instead of Pepsi!

    Chicken Bacon Avocado Burger

Bro. So frickin fire. Lawd have mercy. We got the chicken wings and brotha they were so crispy and juicy and fresh !!! My Pop got the Chicken Bacon Avocado burger and as you can see it looks huge. Good portion size but I will say the actual meat piece isnt that thick so it looks bigger than it is. I got the fried barbecue Pork Chop burger and it was delicious. Crispy fry, tender pork, crispy onion rings inside, and just filled my soul right on up. That's sandwich could make a bishop kick holes through stained glass windows. Ambiance is comfy and southern, and the service was kind a quick. This is officially my home-town comfort spot

Fried Oreos and funnel cake fries

I am willing to drive across town just to eat here- in fact, even across the COUNTRY! No exaggeration. Their food is extremely fresh and they truly do have some of the best, juiciest, most flavorful and succulent burgers- and they're also HUGE and at such a great price point- I got the avocado burger. Their fries also came out super crispy, you can tell that they're FRESH French fries- trust me, I love me a good potato and they delivered. Not pictured here- but I also had their wings, and let me tell you, I dove in so quickly and devoured them I didn't even have time to take a picture. Truly, so well coated on the outside, they have mastered the crispy crunch on the outside even with their sauce on top, and super steamy and juicy chicken on the inside. You will not be eating dry wings. Also- hands down cannot forget their onion rings. I was sharing with friends and I'm pretty sure I ate the majority of them- they were so good. Also- if you crave for fair food, you can get them year-round here with fried Oreos, funnel cake fries, you name it. I kid you not, my stomach grumbled as I'm typing this and I'm also salvaging. I came here back at the end of December and I'm a full-time grad student writing this- it's THAT good that I'm still thinking about it from across the country. Truly, the people are even more amazing and better- some of the most kind-hearted people work here who just really make the space beautiful and environment so welcoming and loving. Truly, will be back here again soon!

Very tasty burger - should have gotten the double patty - the single patty is too much bread. I thought it tasted really great but would prefer a smaller bun, thicker patties and cheaper price. Total cost no drink or fries $11.85 gave a cash tip.

    Crazy burger with fries
    Aden T.

I don't say this often - but this was the best burger I have ever had!! My husband and I decided to share the Crazy burger with fries, and it did not disappoint. The ambiance of this spot was great, it felt like a neighborhood restaurant and the staff was very kind. The crazy burger was packed with flavor, and it was a solid size for the price. Fries were phenomenal as well. Overall - a great experience!

And for my first time, this was a really great experience! First the negatives. The time it takes to get your food is extremely long and the place even on a weekday is still packed (personally, there was someone at another table constantly bumping into me). But if you can get over that, this place is absolutely insane. The fish dishes we got had the largest fried fishes I've ever seen, the fried batter was so light and airy, and the flavor of the fish was just extremely fresh and well made. I prefer the cod to the haddock due to its cleaner taste and more break apart texture, but both are really good. The shepherd's pie I got was also really good, with a lot of different spices and filling with a really nice and light crust. The only dish we got that I was a little bit skeptical about was the fried shrimp, which was good, but nothing too too special. Last two things. Our waitress was SO nice and very welcoming. She made the long wait not feel like an issue on her part, but rather just the cook time for our meal. Lastly, the sticky toffee pudding was absolutely elite. So rich and moist, as well as perfectly sweet and nicely portioned for around 2 people. An excellent cap to this overall incredible experience.

Flatbread Pizza: The cheese on the pizza wasn't very good, and the crust had an off putting burnt taste to it. Overall, there was just something not right about the pizza -- it didn't feel fresh or well-made. Definitely wouldn't recommend it. Sunset Martini: The drink was just okay. Our server was friendly, attentive, and had a great attitude from start to finish. Unfortunately, almost everything else felt like a step backward. The menu has been reduced dramatically. Once you take away the oyster selections, there are very few entrée choices left. Many of the dishes that kept me coming back are no longer offered. The drink menu has also been cut down significantly. They used to have a much better selection, and it just doesn't feel like the same restaurant anymore. Another frustration is that they're in an area with poor cell service, yet customer Wi-Fi is no longer available. Whether you're trying to check a message, work while you eat, or simply stay connected, it's almost impossible. As for the food, it was just okay. Nothing was bad, but nothing stood out either. I ordered the crab cake with the arugula salad and a shrimp cocktail. Ironically, the small arugula salad that came with the single crab cake was the best part of my meal. The crab cake and shrimp cocktail were fine, but neither was memorable or something I'd come back for. Overall, it feels like Half Shells has lost much of what made it special. Between the limited menu, reduced drink options, lack of Wi-Fi, and average food, it's no longer the destination it once was for me. I truly hope they reconsider some of these changes because I'd love to see this restaurant return to what made it such a great place to dine.

We came in with a group and decided to go all in--and I'm so glad we did because every single dish showed up and showed out. Let's start with the cheeseburger and fries--this wasn't your average bar burger. It was thick, juicy, perfectly seasoned, and cooked just right. The kind of burger where every bite is flavorful and satisfying. And those fries? Golden, crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside... basically impossible to stop eating. The shepherd's pie (full order) was pure comfort in a dish. Rich, savory meat layered with vegetables and topped with creamy mashed potatoes that were baked to a beautiful golden finish. It had that homemade, hearty feel that just hits different--especially when you're sharing with good company. Now the fish and chips... WOW. Light, crispy batter that didn't overpower the fish, which was flaky and tender inside. Not greasy, not heavy--just perfectly fried and paired with fries that held their crunch. Exactly what you want from a proper Irish pub. And let's talk about the wings--because we tried two kinds, including the Jameson wings, and they were next-level. The sauce had that smooth, slightly sweet, slightly bold whiskey flavor that made them stand out in the best way. Sticky, flavorful, and cooked just right. The other wings held their own too--great crisp, great sauce coverage, and packed with flavor. Beyond the food, one thing that always stands out to me is how clean and well-kept the place is. That matters--and Blue Rooster Irish Pub & Grill consistently delivers. It makes the whole experience feel comfortable, welcoming, and just easy to enjoy. Great food, great atmosphere, and a place that clearly takes pride in what they do.

Highly recommend getting a side of fries -Side salad: I love this salad so much, I order it every time I come here. It comes with tomatoes, egg, onion, and these crispy potato strings that add the perfect crunch! Always order this with a side of ranch 14 oz Signature Ribeye with 2 sides: -Ribeye: This steak is HUGE and JUICY. Seasoned very well. I like to order this with sauteed mushrooms and onions. It delish -Mashed potatoes: The mashed potatoes are good here; they have a nice garlic taste to them. I love that they give you the option for gravy or no gravy and options to load them up with bacon and cheese $10 Burger Special on Mondays: -The Burgers here are huge! You can get a Burger and a side of fries or tots for $10. You also have the option to have your fries/tots loaded with cheese or bacon Bubba's Lasagna: - I would say this is our least favorite item. It's not bad, but it's not the best lasagna. I felt it was very basil-forward with the sauce. The dish itself didn't stand out to me Cheesecake: Cheesecake is solid; love the graham cracker crust As far as service, it can be hit or miss depending on who you have. I have had days where our server is consistently checking in on us, and I have had days where it felt like ages to get a refill on a drink. But Food quality has always been consistent. If I'm not mistaken, Bubba's is a scratch kitchen. Food is made to order fresh. *****Bonus Info***** They have an app where you can hold a place in line and also make online orders

They were good & crispy, but we'll ask them to leave off the Tony's next time. A manager stopped by as we were leaving to make sure we'd had a good lunch experience. Our server was very attentive and helpful.

I ordered the Loco, off the menu, but from a trusted source. And a bottle of Modelo Negra to set the mood. The plate came out and the papusa was huge. Big as the plate. With a side of slaw and tomato dipping sauce. I was set. I'm not a slaw fan so sent that back but got to the main event quickly. The Loco Papusa had pork meat, beans, spinach and chz. It was amazing. Ive had Papusas from Central America and thaw are the two deal. I've had their burgers and the Papusas ame both are great can't go wronh.

Customer Service: 5 Stars Cleanliness: 5 Stars…read moreQuality of Food: 5 Stars Entertainment: music / TV / volume etc. no complaints Restrooms: Clean and don't have a stench of urine or other unpleasant odors. Offers beer, wine, and happy hour The old school Burgers I'm used to: Toast their buns and I love a toasted bun. They also offer Turkey burgers. I've tried the turkey burger once and the meat patty reminded me of a smash burger style patty, so next time, I think I'll get two. I also customized the burger with bacon, blue cheese, pickles, and a hard fried egg which made for a nice addition of flavors. Queso tasted home made. Cleaned the bowl! Sweet potato fries, let's say they've managed to achieve a nicely cut proportionate fry with the authentic sweet potato flavor and texture that's not soggy.
