That gave me huge relief, because it was the day before my guests were to arrive, and I had no time to deal with it. I was also impressed that June did many things off the clock and didn't charge us extra when she realized it would suit our taste and lack of time best to order our art gallery wrapped. June also found a way to repurpose four lamps that we had so that they went with the decor where they were situated. She made great recommendations, patiently helped us make decisions, kept us well informed throughout the process, and answered all our questions promptly. When setbacks arose, she handled every problem with professionalism and grace, which gave us a lot of confidence and peace of mind. My consultant Patty was very engaging. I have a den that needed a new look…read more I told her, my consultant that we could replace the futon, but needed a sleeper sofa. (my 6'2" husband watches football on the futon), plus the futon flipped into a queen bed which was nice for company or a medical condition that required a first floor bedroom with attached bathroom. She led me to a sofa that was not a sleeper. I told her that wouldn't really do for our purposes. She said but this couch has a lounge. On paper it looked ok. In reality, when the lounge came in it was just over 3 feet long. (Not even good for me 5'3" to sleep on much less my 6'2 husband). The couch and lounge together are barely 5 feet long and extremely uncomfortable to try to lay on much Less nap or sleep on. What I got was a Small couch lounge combo, with 3 couch pillows, a small uncomfortable chair and a 5x7 area rug (that I found on Amazon for $99.00). I paid $8,000 in advance and it took months to get my furniture. As soon as it arrived I realized the couch was way too small. However, there seemed to be nothing I could do about it. Truthfully I feel ripped off. I got no itemized receipt, so I have no idea what the actual cost was, but it could not have been even half of what I paid. I feel stuck and sadly the futon is going back into the den and the tiny couch and lounge is not really useful anywhere. I'm sad not to be thrilled with this experience, but the furniture is just not worth it. All I can say is: Buyer beware!!!!! I wouldn't wish this on anyone else. (Patty knew my disappointment with this tiny furniture on delivery, but made no attempt to offer a remedy) Again BUYER BEWARE!!

Lux Design Associates was hired to redecorate a small first floor den that has an adjoining…read morebathroom. I spent time explaining to Patty how we used the room, that my 6'2" husband liked to lay on the couch in that room and also we used it for a 1st floor guest room and a place should one of us became sick or unable to climb the stairs. My husband and I are both 67 years old. We had a full size futon, 2 chairs, a coffee table and lamp in that room. It was emphasized to Patty that we needed a place to sleep in that room. We talked about a sleep sofa. Patty thought a couch and sleeping lounge would be better. On arrival, the furniture was clearly small. The couch and lounge were both narrow and the lounge itself only 3 feet long. Certainly neither were big enough for an adult person to sleep on it. This was the whole goal of getting the new furniture, to function as pretty den/guest room with furniture big enough for sleeping. I liked Patty and trusted her. It was a big disappointment when the furniture came in unusable for the purpose it was intended. It took a long time to receive the furniture, this caused additional stress and I had a heart attack. The whole ordeal was stressful. We had to put the original futon back in the room since the furniture she delivered was too small and did not work out. Apparently she did not listen to what we needed. She measured the room, But her measurements did not use the space we had available. The couch and lounge she described to take place of the futon was to be big enough to sleep on. Which it isn't. I'm very sorry all this happened and feel stuck and ripped off, with no resolution.

Let me describe the services provided and why it was awesome. We were in the midst of redecorating and had several rooms that we were planning to repaint. Linda had a fixed price for a set number of rooms that we thought was very reasonable to begin with. We were really expecting her to stop by, take a look at our house, understand our needs and provide recommendations. But, oh...she did so much more. Linda spent 7 hours with us! For each space that we consulted her on, she asked us to describe usage, provided recommendations, then held up color swatches on the walls so we could see what the color would look like in bright light and shadows and further gave us decor tips. We did not just pick colors, we felt confident in our choices. As I think back to our initial experience when we moved in, we liked a lot of color and picked some bold colors throughout pretty randomly. Unfortunately, less than 4 years later we are re-painting so many areas because the color seems overbearing or did not really work. If we had used Linda's services right at the start, we wouldn't be repainting so soon so we would have saved money! In the end, we have picked shades of a similar color but as Linda explained, there is a rhythm to this, as you move from active areas to areas where light fades and gets bright, you see a consistency and can also change moods somewhat. Again, YMMV, but all-in-all, I don't think anyone will be dissatisfied with Linda...she goes out of her way to please...she need not have spent 7 hours with us and we think that the decor tips she provided are strong. Her work ethic and enthusiasm was excellent...we almost could not keep up with her even after 7 hours. 10/10 for her service and enthusiasm.
