I am back on a fairly rigorous fitness program to be ready for a big backpacking trip this summer. Emilia asked all sorts of questions regarding my goals and intentions for the trip and what I was trying to accomplish. She also had good suggestions with regards to noticing my carb/fuel intake as I progress in my training. She continues to be very positive and friendly and I recommend her highly. Original Review 09/12/2022 Emilia is a top-notch Dietician that not only has the know-how, but she has that rare quality of actually listening to her clients and meeting them where they are at. I found her very sensitive to some very real life factors that were not making my meals easy to prepare. She would not only send me the invoice afterwards, but always give me either a review of the session with a few notes, or a renaming of the goals we have set together. Emilia is warm, friendly, knowledgeable and definitely one of my favorite practitioners. She also studied nutrition specifically to support athletes and as I have just started an intensive 47 week training with a coach. I look forward to having further discussions on how best to fuel my journey. PS - She also is great with kids and families and teaches nutritionally based cooking classes within Toronto. I went in for a consultation today. They said 1.5 hours but it was more like 2 hours and I had to…read morerush her along since I was meeting someone. Not much of an opportunity to ask too many questions, that was a bit disappointing because it's a lot of information to take in. $279 for the consultation and one week's worth of injections. The package is the recipe book, info brochure, one box of protein bars and what looked like a pencil case. I asked about it and she said it's to transport the urine samples. I thought that was pretty great, discrete and waterproof. They have a few products you can buy there but they don't push it on you. The prices vary for the ongoing program, one week to eight weeks. Then they requested blood, ECG and a chest x-ray. I went to the clinic they suggested downstairs in First Canadian Place. She said it would be quick. So I ask my friend if we can do that first since I hadn't had breakfast yet. It was more like an hour there. The x-ray clinic was over at York/Adelaide but I was in/out in about 20 mins. Looks like Sunday's are going to be food prep days and foodie lifestyle is going to be non-existant for the next six months. Medication has made me gain weight and I have to lose weight for my back surgery. This will be my kick start to a new regime.
