We thought we were getting a gate, but we got a wall instead. Since November 2023 when we had this company install our backyard wooden fence + aluminum gate combo, we've been experiencing a recurring issue with the metal post housing the deadbolt lock shifting, contracting, or expanding (the owner-fabricator with vaunted 25+ years of experience in this business knows not which or why it keeps happening), requiring twice resizing of the opening in order to maneuver the lock. After both such attempts to resolve the issue (one in November not long after the gate was installed and in February of this year), I had to painstakingly clean up the resulting aluminum shavings in the soil, on the grass, and on the concrete floors to prevent our dog from hurting himself by accidentally stepping on them or ingesting them. Now in August of 2024, I can't unlock the gate. The bolt is pushing up against the very top of the now-vertical opening (it was roundish before) and won't budge. After failing to follow up on my numerous text notifications and a call to the owner-fabricator, he takes issue with my verbiage in my more recent communication, which included "You'd better take care of this problem ASAP." It's infuriating and comical in equal measure that a business owner who repeatedly ignores a client's request to redress a problem caused by his shoddy work acts the pearl-clutching defender of politesse and injured party. Now that we can no longer keep the garbage can outside behind the gate, garbage either festers in the hot garage or sits in the driveway risking a fine from code enforcement. We shelled out thousands of dollars to have a custom aluminum fence with puppy bars erected, and this company seems to feel zero responsibility to address once and for all the one feature of what makes the gate a gate: a working lock! What's a few hundred dollars to hire another company who might actually figure out how metals behave and knows how to work with them, in *this* economy? Note not just to this company but to all contractors in general, but to this company in particular: People have security cameras in and around their homes. Remind your employees and associates to refrain from openly urinating or dumping large, jagged concrete debris in the middle of your clients' backyards. No. Just no. UPDATE: It's funny to me that it took a negative review for the company to finally give me the time of day. I am rarely at a loss for words and have let them know time after time exactly what the issue is. I "canceled" the appointment because the owner-fabricator wouldn't bother confirming whether or not he was coming at the said date and time, which incidentally he had declared without asking if it was convenient *for me*. The problem is his response of late has been either rare or nonexistent. If the issue persists because the way in which the concrete was poured and the cedar/pine fence flanking the aluminum gate was erected is the reason the gate keeps shifting, then I fear the worst: that the structure may be fundamentally unsound. We never once had the issue with the locking mechanism with the old decrepit fence/gate for decades, which this company was paid good money to replace. read more

My entire experience with this company was top tier. I had called several companies for estimates on having a new gate installed for the driveway of a house I just bought. Juan responded right away, met me at the house, and sent over the estimate faster than expected. After getting several estimates, I went with them. Communication was great. When it was time for the installation, everything went smoothly. He assisted with getting me connected to the miQ, and when we realized I needed some additional equipment, he went to Best Buy and got it. He made two trips there but managed to get my modem to connect! He definitely went above and beyond what most other companies would do! Additionally, he came back a couple days later and replaced the caps for me on a small piece of older wrought iron fencing.
