I can't say enough about Buono's…read more I had heard good things about the company from other folks in my building, as well as on Yelp, and from the first moment I requested a quote through Yelp, Lou Buono was responsive, courteous, and an actual pleasure to communicate with. If you've worked with a lot of folks in the trades, this is very much the exception to the rule, and as such I was pleasantly surprised. Lou quickly got back to me with a very reasonable quote, and once we agreed on the details and a date, we were off and running. We had some damage and discoloration on our white oak floors, and we wanted to sand and refinish them. Lou was helpful as we got together the paperwork my building required to get it done. On the agreed upon day, his guys showed up on time, and while they weren't the excellent communicators that he is (their English wasn't great), they were conscientious and obviously knew what they were doing. Lou said the work would take 1-2 days, and they were done in just a day. We had a minor hiccup after the fact, but Lou immediately investigated the issue, and handled it well. I'll definitely be going straight to Buono's next time I need any flooring work done.

He made and installed custom granite countertops for us. We never met with him in person, given our current plague, but emailed him color schemes and online photos of what we were looking for. He selected the specific granite used and texted us photos and videos of the material before we had him cut and install. The countertops were, to our happy surprise, even more stunning in person than they were in photos, and he did all work on time. Reggie is very personable and a fantastic, prompt communicator, despite not being the most technologically savvy human in NYC. (To be fair, I'm a total Luddite as well.) No hidden prices (a pet peeve of mine), no unpleasant surprises -- only pleasant ones when we were finally able to see the quality of his work in person.
