They also damaged a door. The movers acknowledged responsibility at the time and told me it should be a simple claim to resolve after the move. That was not my experience. Once I submitted the claim, I encountered delays, stalling, and ultimately a refusal to fairly address the damage. The company attempted to rely on a liability limitation applicable to items damaged during transit, even though my claim involved damage to my home caused while their movers were performing services. I explained that distinction and that the damage resulted from the mover's failure to properly follow procedures, but the company refused to reconsider its position. They also attempted to unilaterally "close" my claim based on an internal deadline. More concerning, when I asked for the legal name of the company operating under the College Hunks name--not merely the DBA--I was not provided that information. I also requested the (1) company's Florida moving license/registration information and (2) insurance information, I was not provided that either. This resulted in the loss of my security deposit and footing a substantial bill due to their mistakes, and they refused to make it right. Based on my experience, I would strongly recommend that customers look elsewhere.
