We have recently found this spot and it is one of our favorites. It is a very busy and popular stop to be sure. And they have earned it with their delicious food. We have not had a bad meal here. Proteins like filet steak, chicken, shrimp and scallops to name a few, paired with rice or noodles are their mainstays. The flavors are on point and not overdone. The only unfortunate thing may be the small size of the seating area. About 15 or so tables is not enough for this popular spot. They do a lot of take out so do not shy away just find what works best for you. read more

We have been going here for years and it's always consistently delicious! The food is very high quality and it's prepared well. You order at the counter and they bring the food to you when it's ready. The owners are wonderful and very welcoming. Our favorite entree is filet and shrimp. Went back to Jo Hibachi and got refund for sushi rolls, they were big and smushy. Lady im assuming was a (sushi chef) there said she was from Hawaii and did sushi for years and every sushi chef makes them different. Im from Orlando, Fl and purchased sushi for years, I never experienced that with sushi. I will not be purchasing sushi again from that restaurant ever again. I've been coming here for at least 10 years and have never been disappointed. The food is always great and the staff is always nice. It can get pretty hot inside during the heat of the day, but I'm not sure if there is much they can do about that. We go about once a month and will continue to do so. read more

Very busy. This is a small sit down and a take out business. We stopped by yesterday after seeing a high rating. I had a combination steak and chicken with noodles and vegetables. First time here. We were lured in by a the incredible prices on a menu we pulled up online because they don't have a website. We were surprised when we got here that the prices were a bit higher. HOWEVER...the prices are still good, given the fact that you get a lot of food for your money. So much so that even with just ordering their bowls, we had to take half of our food home. We ordered a chicken and a veggie (yummmmm) hibachi. They were both delicious. We also ordered the side salad, which comes with two containers of really delicious, ginger dressing. I would recommend this place; probably for take out though. It's a small place and A LOT of people. Easy to see why; the food is great and they have extremely fast service. In other words don't come here expecting to have a nice, quiet, romantic dinner. Be prepared to order your food at the counter first then grab a seat. I will say I had the most incredible Pepsi from their fountain. Likely it had just been refilled but OMG was it good! Also yum, is their Yum Yum sauce. Sooo good! Wow, this place is great! Spoke with the owners and they were hustling and we saw about one hundred people come and go while we were there! Food is great been going here off & on for several years now but after tonight not to sure if we will be going back. My husband & me took our 3 year old granddaughter to have dinner. We ordered two meals & a side of shrimp. We seen the woman bringing out our food & she spilled the side shrimp on the tray. She took it back to the cooks & they took the shrimp off the tray & put it back in the bowl except for two that were still on the tray. She gave us our food & asked if we needed anything & I ask for a small plate. She went in the back to get one when she came back we had a question about the meat my husband ordered. Her mouth was full chewing on our two shrimp that should of been replaced from the get go. My husband hates when I speak up which I do not get being we are paying for the food. He was supposed to get fillet mignon but got steak instead & after dumping our side of shrimp on the try that could of been dirty & not replacing it & missing 2 that ended up in the servers mouth he wouldn't let me say anything. Like I said the food is real good but the whole thing should of been handled differently in my opinion. Time to find some place else to go when we have a craving I guess. This hibachi restaurant is a hibachi restaurant like no other. I have been to so many hibachi restaurants along the grand strand and Conway trying to find the perfect bowl - and I finally found out. I'll break it down for you bit by bit. The rice this restaurant serves is not too salty. A lot of issues with hibachi is that the rice does not have enough soy sauce, or it has too much. Jo Hibachi has perfected their sodium to rice ratio. It is literally the best rice I have ever had. Their teriyaki chicken has been perfectly marinated for consumption. The chicken is always well trimmed, I have never bitten into a huge piece of chicken fat or cartilage. If you get steak, boy, do I have news for you: cooked to perfection. It is never too chewy or too tough to eat. The hibachi chef here is always consistent with his food. In terms of shrimp and other choices, they are all wonderful. I personally do not eat seafood, but everyone I have ever had the pleasure of taking to Jo hibachi who gets seafood always leaves full and happy. Alright, now let's talk about the staff: The staff here is incredibly friendly. I have never met someone in this establishment who hates their job outwardly. I have always been treated with respect. No one has ever gotten an attitude towards me, or been short. I have always been greeted with a smile, and told to have a wonderful day. The staff at jo hibachi is a big group of happy, amazing, wonderful people who strive to serve amazing food and amazing customer service. What's the verdict? Go to Jo's. Just shut up. Get in your car. Put your seatbelt on (for safety). Put your key in the ignition and start that baby up and drive yourself right over to Jo's. I was hugely upset, I know during the pandemic we all are trying and most of us counting pennies so when I splurge to grab take out last thing I want is the restaurant to charge me 25 for a 16$ meal and refund it only to make me pay the $16 Then offered refund of cash but didn't follow through and now will take 8 days now I paid 40+$ for a $15 meal and didn't even get yumyum sauce I paid for so wasted gas going all the way back there to grab them. The staff is so friendly and the place was packed with locals as it seemed from the convos between the humans. We got some grub and it was decent. The rice was a little overcooked and the steak was dry and the chicken was decent. My moose thought the sushi was the best and was very moosing with it as she hooved it down. The dumpling weren't terrible but were smallish but doable. Its nice to see above age people working as other places have some 10 years old doing all the work with a playhouse that grown ups don't get invited to :(. The hibachi is delicious quite possibly the best I've ever had. Why does this matter? First, I'm an Asian. I was born into the hibachi world and have developed a taste for only the world's finest. That's why I go to Jo's. Second, I am the Triple-A Class Teppanyaki Grand Master for the last three years. I studied under Jo for this and he granted me my black belt. We came here because of everyone else's 5-star reviews. But we were in for a huge disappointment. Staff was friendly but the food tasted awful. The side vegetable consisted of a bunch of onions. The meat of the "chicken" was at best questionable, and the mahi mahi tasted like someone fried fish out of a box and put salt on it. Sad to say, I wouldn't come back here again.
