We're not a regular at any Joann Fabrics and Crafts but it's where I go when I'm looking for some patching material to extend the life of some of my Blue Jeans. Such was the case today. We were returning home after a meeting on the west side and this Joann's was in a strip mall where I needed to turn. So we made a quick stop. I actually had been in this store a while ago a few times; probably for the same reason. It has two floors packed with just about any kind of kraft materials you could want. Since we didn't feel like browsing, we asked where to find the patch materials we wanted and were given clear directions for where to find it on the second floor. We quickly found what we wanted and went back downstairs to check out. The store itself was a bit dated and could use some updating. But the selection of products is large and the staff were helpful and friendly. I just need to remember this location the next time I need patches! read more

It's not just one store it is all. They believe in fraud happening when all are not trying to do it. I will never buy a sewing machine again and this used to be a place I could come to and trust. Even with the receipt and open box it can't be returned. There is nothing wrong with the machine and I did not use it as a one day project. I've had one in the past and it has broken but because the one I have and its operations are difficult to use it can't be replaced. They consider this fraud. How about those that have stolen. All though due to manufacturing and other things I would make deals with companies when getting the supplies for the stores or give this to all customers. Just so you are aware that if you make the purchase it is the right one for you, because if it's not you are out of luck. read more

Fabrics selection is limited. The fabric staff always seems put out when you ask for something

I like the store for specific holiday stuff. Staff is always kind and helpful, bathrooms are clean. What bothers me is how cluttered the aisles are; you have to navigate around them and also, there seems to be a lot of empty areas as far as items. I would also like to suggest that they clean the area (floor) when you walk in and grab a basket. A good sweeping would do that basket area good, maybe even mop the floor. read more

I waited nearly 10 minutes for someone to come from upstairs to check me out. There was another employee present but she would not check me out. They were not remorseful. Go to the John R location instead. Extremely poor people skills. read more

They just overcharging me and when I call back a woman on the phone sounds like they are doing a very correct thing and nothing wrong with them and no apologize. and plus this is the second time happened this week in this store. Wish I could give no stars - Fabric cutter was extremely rude and was put out when I asked a simple question. Store is cluttered and dirty - needs to be closed down. No one there to help you on either level. read more

Manager Randy was very rude and disrespectful. I asked a simple question and she was very short tempered. There was no staff on the floor to help me find what I was looking for and I waited in the line for ~15 minutes. Everyone has bad days but blatant disrespect is not acceptable. Upstairs was staffed by two very helpful middle aged women. They were quick and efficient as well as friendly and very knowledgable. If I was rating just the upstairs staff I would give the store a 5 star rating. The checkout was a different story. The young woman cashier just abandoned the register and went out to the front of the store and rearranged flowers in a cart. All this while people stood in line. A coworker observed the behavior and was rolling her eyes and casting horrified looks at this cashier. When the cashier finally returned to her register she was rude and frankly acted like she was doing the patrons a favor by checking them out. If I could give negative stars for the cashier I would. The store layout is odd. The fabric, patterns and other sewing stuff is up two flights of stairs. There is a nice assortment of fabric and accessories. I won't be back to this store. I will drive to Auburn Hills joanns store where the entire staff is pleasant. read more

I hate to do this but man, this store needs a demo. I'll keep it short-its old, understocked and dilapidated. There are crazy stairs in thr middle of this two story Joann that are from the 60s I think. Strange. It's small, poor layout out and not functional. 5 check outs I think and never more the 5 patrons in the store. Fabric is upstairs. That area is pretty okay. Everything else is just sad. The staff is great but for Bloomfield Hills, you'd think they'd just rebuild it. Needs a renovation asap. read more

Can somebody please explain this whole coupon thing? If I'm getting 40% off of one item I'm inclined to only buy one item. I went in to JOANN tonight and wouldn't you know it, the first time I've been sent an email from JOANN without a 40% off coupon. So I can use the 25% off coupon they included or wait until tomorrow when they will send another 40% off coupon. This is a waste of time. One less customer. read more

Went here to see if they had button making equipment for those 2 1/2" buttons that kids can put their own pictures in. Asked one young associate if they carried this. Without even listening to what I needed, she said, "upstairs". I asked where? She said somewhere up there. So I spent 5 minutes wandering around. Went back down and asked if she could help me find them. At this point she was on her phone, looked up said they were up there, then looked back down at her phone. I went back up there and one of the women who was helping another customers was freed up, and she quickly answered that they didn't carry this product. While I eventually received decent customer care, I also wasted a bunch of my time. I don't think I'll return. read more

I went to Jo-Ann's instead of Michael's thinking they were very similar stores, but Jo-Ann is a lot closer to where I love. Unfortunatly, I was very disappointed in what I found there. None of the aisles were labled, and I could not find one store employee to help me out. I wandered around for an hour looking for ribbon clamps! I eventually did find them at the very bottom of a shelf containing beads. There was only one employee at the cash register and it was very slow. I will not be returning. read more

While the girl at the checkout counter was very friendly, I do not see myself returning to this store simply because it needs a lot of work. The bead selection was extremely picked over and many of the brands that I'm used to seeing at Joann's were not there. I tried this store for a little variety a whim but I think I will stick with the Madison Heights location. read more

This is a review for all Joann's. Always slow check out and issues with their coupons. Just spent my lunch hour carefully picking out 40 strands of beads just to have the coupon not work. All items were eligible, but after many attempts their solution was to start all over and have to apply the discount to each individual strand. Because I was on my lunch I didn't have time to do this do I left empty handed and late from lunch! read more

Right on Telegraph, good parking, easy in and easy out. Great store to find fabric and nice accessories. The fabric selection is great and often on sale. The staff is helpful. They have a great clearance section for holiday and wedding items. read more

This is a terrible Joann's. They have the worst selection. Don't even bother coming here for scrapbooking, stickers or paper rafting supplies, because they have consolidated so much. It's a waste. Plus, the store is always gross and dirty. read more
