Unfortunately now in California we're only allowed to build 3 guns per year without a "manufacturers license", so this will put a damper on the number of AR builds. They also carry many many parts and accessories for many other types of firearms as well. That being said, Joe Bob Outfitters is ULTRA reliable, and they are absolutely serious about their business, their prices, and getting your parts into your hands very quickly. I got the "honor" of meeting the owner of the store. I was having an ejection issue with a new rifle I was still learning about. I brought it in to get some simple guidance and advice, but I was just talked down to and was basically called stupid. However, none of his suggestions worked to fix the ejection problem. Brought it to a different gun store, and they were much more nice and actually helped me figure out the problem. The customer service with the behind the counter guys has typically been good, but when the owner is a jerk, doesn't really make you want to shop there. read more

I've never been to the retail location, but I have made at least 6-7 orders online. Every single order was processed and shipped within 24 hours. Their inventory is always live, meaning if you see it, they have it in stock. That's great given the circumstances of the times and the almost zero stock availability of parts and accessories. I think the other people are turning an ant into an elephant with their issues. I order the wrong thing and contacted support. They fixed it immediately and I received all the correct stuff and in record speed. Great service and I will continue to shop here, Optics Planet is slow and they lie about their stock levels. Fast shipping, decent selection, terrible customer service. I received a product that was incorrectly labeled (Seekins Ruger Precision Rifle Handguard for those that want to know) with the following information "Comes with mounting hardware and Ruger specific barrel nut" This was false. It came with a "Sort of Barrel Nut" as Seekins (who I spoke to on the phone) put it. Translation for those of you who need a new barrel nut - this is not a barrel nut. You MUST have the factory barrel nut or alternative ACTUAL Ruger specific barrel nut or this will not work. Anyway, I tried to explain this, I got the "standard return policy" thrown in my face, they did not offer to send me a shipping label and said if I wanted my money back, they would charge me a 15% restocking fee. Oh well. Up to this point, they had been pretty decent but I can't stand companies that are willing to throw a customer who has spent a ton of money completely under the bus over a $20 mistake on their end. Update 9/10/20 - They deleted my account so I cannot even see my order history anymore. Their options for return are 100% in store credit or 85% in cash. What's the chance THAT is going to happen with a company that is so childish that after refusing customer service, they delete their customers' accounts. Unbelievable. I ordered three Sig P320 Coyote Brown 21 round magazines. I had to pay a little more for these due to the other seller did not have all three in stock as their website stated and had to go thru and wait for a refund on the order. Upon getting these from Joe Bob Outfitters the so called warehouse personal placed these into a soft sided bubble wrap type mailer. So the original packaging from Sig was damaged. I emailed and sent photos to them and did not hear from them in four days so I called. Of course the customer service rep stated that they were not responsible for the damage due to the shipping carrier. The items were damaged due to the carelessness of the the type of mailing that the warehouse personal used nothing more. Using a USPS flat rate box would have been the same price and would have prevented the damage to the Sig package. Of course the only offer was to send them back at my expense for a refund or exchange. Go figure. Joe Bob Outfitters you have lost a customer over this and just when in two months I am moving back to KS and being driving distance to your store. read more

While I've never been in their retail store I have ordered from them multiple times online. I have had nothing but great service from them. Good communications, rapid processing and mailing out. Things that are important when buying something on line. My most recent order I made an error in where I wanted my purchase sent. On Saturday evening, I sent an email to Joe Bob's asking to change my shipping address. I didn't expect a response until Monday morning. However, within 2 hours I received a response from the owner saying that he would correct my error before it shipped. Now that's customer service! I have been using Joe Bob outfitters for several years. Untill now the service has been good, fast shipping correct parts. This time I recieved an incorrect part in the correct packaging, when I reached out to Joe Bob's I recieved a reply from joseph saying, Sorry about that, We don't make mistakes. Contact the manufacturer and get them to replace it. I did try to contact the manufacturer and got no reply. Very poor customer service. I recently found Joe Bob's online because they had a particular gun part I needed. They're now my first stop when I need something. I've seen some poor reviews about their online shop, but wanted to share that hasn't been my experience at all. I've made around 5 online purchases during the pandemic (AR parts kits, Glock parts, magazines, and tools). Everything ships fast, and has been just as described. Buyer Beware- they lack character and integrity. They shipped me a product that showed as delivered. Unfortunately for me, it wasn't delivered. I communicated with them early and often, however, they don't care. Just so you are all aware, when a seller ships you a product, they are contracting with the shipper. It is the buyer's responsibility to purchase and pay for the item. It is the seller's responsibility to make sure you get it. PERIOD. If the item is lost, THEY have to file a claim to get THEIR money back since they paid for the service. That is not something you put on the customer, but they do. Well, this company doesn't care. They put all of that on me and took zero accountability or interested in helping. This is who you are dealing with, folks. 5 days later the item showed up, no thanks to them. Because I have character and integrity, I immediately let them know I received it. Otherwise, I would be just as bad as they are. Bottom line- It doesn't change how they act or treat their customers. This is their business philosophy. They do not care to HELP their customers, and they will look for EXCUSES first. There are lots of companies that do what they do. The staff are quick to point out the best deals on parts. I definitely save money by stopping by. My only complaint is that they didn't have a Let's Go Brandon shirt in my size. I reported to Joe Bob Outfitters my package was not recieved. The poor customer service over 1 transaction was the worst I have ever been involved with. Joseph the owner refused to allow a refund due to Geo tracking. I followed the steps neccsary to get package back or my refund. They offered very little assitance and seem to have it out for veterans. Its very unfortunate to be treated this way. He seemed to be attacking me because I didnt recieve the goods. Worst customer service ever. Ordered the Side Charging AR15 upper. It showed up and was missing the Cam pin that is required. I emailed and the Owner replied "There would have been a small bag in the box with a cam pin inside." I checked .. No cam pin bag or anything. I replied "no sir its not in the box." I paid somewhere between 2 and 3 hundred for this upper and the cam pin was a Very cheap part. However after I said nope its not in there, I got a response from the VP. So now the owner has passed it off to the VP. The response read. "Here is a link where you can buy one" Its like ordering and paying for 40 dollars worth of food at Taco Bell, getting home realizing you were shorted a taco. They only sent me part of the product. They didn't include the 4 bar rail that was in the description to mount the sites on. Then when I returned it via amazon prime, they charged me a $32 restocking fee. I received an email saying the restocking fee is due to the fact I opened the product. So if you order a product from Joe Bob Outfitters, do not open it. I received the an incomplete order from them, opened it to find out it was incomplete and now I am being charged a restocking fee for that. Definitely do not do business with this company. read more

Not sure yet.... I ordered a 30 moa rail for a Remington 700 Short Action. They sent me a 0 moa rail. I emailed them within a few hours of receiving the wrong part, asking for the correct part to be shipped right away, not wait for the wrong part to be shipped back and processed. This is for a school gun and has to be zero'd and shootable in under 2 weeks. I tried Joe Bob because it was in stock and the shipping cost was not bad. Paid for new, received open box proof research barrel, paid $569. Asked for refund, Ross, shipping manager, and Mr. Joseph Boeckner, (owner) denied stating its common for plastic pack sealed by proof research would open. I contacted proof research and they said they hadn't had any complaints in reference to thier packaging opening or be open upon arival from Joe bobs or customers.A plastic machined sealed package, packed in a box, then packed in another box, both with packing bubbles and paper in each box??? You decide. Building a high dollar precision prs competition rifle you should have some expectations. As a customer, you shouldn't have to be charged a fee of $85.35 for this, they call it restocking fee, and pay $26 for return shipping and insurance, it's unethical. Would you want a credit with these people to go threw this again, purchasing future products with them. I'd hope you have enough common sense and do business elsewhere. I think Mr. Joseph Boeckner has spred himself thin with expanding businesses in Blackhawk Motorsports, HayTees, Joe bobs Outfitters, and New Age Services. Don't know why I picked these jerk offs instead of the other 14 places that had the item in stock same price same shipping...wish I hadn't. I don't usually cancel orders, but I'm very polite when I do and happy to pay a couple bucks. Ordered the part one evening, cancelled it first thing next morning, got charged 15% re-stocking. He took forever to respond in the first place, which meant that I was at work and couldn't get a picture right away. FedEx won't speak to me since I didn't schedule the shipment and Joe Bob's refused to get the needed information from them for me to prove it wasn't delivered. The order went smooth from the time I placed it from their website to the time it came to my door. The reason I scored them so low is the simple reason of customer service. I purchased a extended Sig Mag, not a knock off, and on the first use the mag failed and the spring, plates and bullets all fell out on the range from out of the handle. I thought I got all the pieces but I didn't. After 2 emails and 3 chat sessions saying they were working the issue I called and got someone on the line that said its my fault. They were not going to replace the item. Told me to contact Sig which I have. Customer service to me is more important than price. I will never buy any of my other supplies from them there are way to many other good companies out there that go above and beyond if needed. read more

Looking for a specific AR muzzle brake, I found Joe Bob Outfitters online. I had searched Google for the brake and the search page included Joe Bob Outfitters, had the price listed and the product shown as "IN STOCK". Following the link, I saw the product page showed that it is on order - but there are different thread sizes, thus different models... I thought I would give them a call simply to ask if they had available the particular break I needed. I promise, I am known for being very friendly and very patient... I wished the fellow a good afternoon and kindly asked if he had the brake in stock, beginning to explain what I saw online. He cut me off to quickly and dismissively say "he didn't care WHAT Google said -what did their site say?" I tried to explain that I did not attempt to purchase the product but instead called to verify, but he again, speaking down to me, asked me what their site said. I felt like I was in grade school and being scolded. I just paused for a few seconds, absorbing how this guy was speaking to me, then said that I was trying to be a first time, new customer, but never mind and thank you very much - have a nice day and then hung up. Now, I am nobody important, but I do build a lot of guns and buy a lot of parts. Today is February 28, and I am currently doing two simultaneous AR builds, numbers 4 and 5 for the year so far. I was happy to try a new source for parts with Joe Bob Outfitters, and I honestly don't need babying or pampering... Just a basic level of common decency - I'll treat you with respect and please do the same for me and let's get 'er done. But this seemed to elude the gentleman I spoke with over the phone. I seldom, if ever, submit negative reviews online. More commonly, I like to praise people and companies that do a good job. This interaction though, bothered me.
