    This was a good quality pizza. I am kind of on a Mike's hot honey kick so this check that box. The restaurant has a few outdoor seats, a few inside. Cool vibe and great service. I'd recommend

    I wasn't expecting the meatball to be the hit that it was. What an amazing job with this pizza. The meatballs are incredible, the sauce is great, and the ricotta cheese is a perfect addition, which is a very high quality ricotta. Dolce Diavola was also very good, but I didn't find it spicy. The pepperoni was very good and cupped just the way you dream about. The inside of Joe's is very clean, lively, hip, and colorful. Parking is limited so plan to pickup on time. I had a 25 min ride home and I did heat the pizza back up a little after my first piece and the flavors explode when the temperature is correct.

    RI: The Pizza State's Lauren and I met up with Chris and Britt from Cowesett Pizza to check out Joe's Pizza in Warwick. New spot. Wood-fired oven. Lots of buzz online. This place is TINY. Four seats if you're friendly with strangers. We grabbed the corner by the window and watched a steady line of customers walk in, order, or pick up the entire time we were there. Not a "we just opened" curiosity line. A "people drove here on purpose" line. The space is clean and functional. Stone and brick exterior, exposed oven throwing heat you can feel from across the room, display case with slices and stromboli ready to go. Three parking spots out front. Maybe four if you're creative. Small operation. Knows what it is. Joe offers two dough options. The menu says "New York style" and "New Haven style" but that's not what they are. They're different hydrations. The New York option is chewier with good flavor. The New Haven option is thinner and more tender. Both work, just depends on what you're after. The pepperoni on the New York dough was the clear winner. Cups properly, gets those crispy edges with little pools of oil. I love them. The flavor shows up. The crust, sauce, and cheese all work together without any one thing trying to be the star. The sauce balances sweet, savory, and acidic. Both pies showed good leoparding from that wood-fired oven. I'd dial back the cheese a bit and add more sauce, especially on the New Haven pie. But that's preference, not a problem. The pepperoni is what you should order. The grilled chicken on the New Haven dough was fine. Moist. Properly cooked. But the chicken got a bit lost. Cut smaller and milder than I expected. Bigger chunks or bolder seasoning would give it more presence on the pie. Next time I'm going bolder. Pepperoni and olives. Pepperoni and meatballs. Something with more punch. Get the garlic knots. Spectacularly good. That same dough, nice and hot, crispy on the outside with that perfect chew inside. They'd be perfect with a side of that tomato sauce for dipping, but even without it, start with these. Joe just opened and this is already becoming a destination pizza. Person after person walked out with two, three, four pies. You don't see that at a new place unless something's working. This pizza is legit. Joe knows his oven. If you're in Warwick or willing to make the trip, it's well worth your time.

    Great pizza! Not greasy or chewy. New Haven style is my favorite but New York style is good if you don't like pizza "well done". Tastes healthy and not "bad for you" pizza. The place is cute and the staff is very nice. The only thing I will say is that we put our order in online and it gave us 1:30 pickup and I was told it was going to be another 20mins when I went to pick it up. They were running behind and there were a lot of waiting for their order so I get it. We went at 2 to pick it up and my pizzas were ready for pickup. Being a football sunday and lunch time I understand them getting backed up with orders. Maybe call before going to see if the online pickup time is accurate. Will definitely get again!

    This is top tier pizza. His New Haven style is fantastic. I'm a big classic margarita, but can also recommend the meatball and the antipasto salad was a great size and very fresh.

    Had to see if the hype was real. The pizzas smelled so good on the way home. Got a NY a New Haven style-to be honest, I really couldn't tell what the difference was but I preferred the meatball and that I ordered New Haven style so I guess I like that better. Place is tiny-layout is a little wonky and crowded. Fresh quality ingredients were used and the flavors were great. They also serve slices. Staff very friendly! Dont plan on eating in, definitely a takeout place.

    Enjoyed Joe's Pizza RI tonight for dinner! Homemade bread for our meatball parm sandwiches! Meatballs were delicious and the fresh bread was perfect for this generously filled sandwich! We killed a pepperoni bread while we waited and we grabbed two cannolis for a sweet treat! Super fresh, homemade and delicious!

    Amazing pizza 10 out of 10 ordered well done new haven style mushroom and pepperoni and it came out perfect. Highly recommended this place.

As this place was selected by my co-founder, I needed to go by myself, have some pizza and scope out the place. Plus get to meet Dimitri himself in case he had any questions. The space is lovely, a good amount of tables and a small bar. I ordered a pepperoni and black olive and found a seat at the end of the bar. After not too long of a wait, my pizza arrived. If you were to look up Greek style pizza in the dictionary, you would see a picture of this pizza. As I was chowin down, I realized it's like the most perfect textbook version of the style. The crust is crispy and airy, the cheese a little chewy, stretch and salty. The sauce hits just right and the toppings bring it all together. Its perfection makes sense given Dimitri has been making pizza for almost as long as I've been alive, and I'll be 41 this year. Even after he retired himself from Cowesett Pizza, passing the torch to Britt, his former employee, he could only last a year before he was called back into making pizzas. And I'm certainly glad he did. This pizza hit the spot and then some. I had to hold myself back from eating the whole thing. Our server/bartender was pleasant and attentive the whole time. Our food arrived looking great. The wings were cooked nicely, jumbo sized with super crispy texture and juicy on the inside. The garlic Parmesan was... Interesting. I believe it's a mayo based sauce, similar to an Alabama white BBQ sauce. I could see the appeal in it but it wasn't for me personally. The pizza was great as usual. I love the combination of the toppings on the meatlovers with the sauce. I enjoyed every bite. While I don't need an excuse to come to Grainsley's as it's in my semi regular rotation, I didn't mind the chance to come back sooner than later for some awesome wings and pizza!

    The reputation arrives first…read more Walk into Frank Pepe's on Universal Boulevard in Warwick, and a hundred years of reputation walks in with you. The original is on Wooster Street in New Haven. It opened in 1925. Frank Pepe was a 32-year-old Italian immigrant from the Amalfi coast who had been selling pies from a hat, carrying them on his head through the neighborhood market to feed factory workers who needed something hot and good and cheap. He saved enough to open a real restaurant. He built an oven. The oven stayed put for over 100 years, because you do not move a hundred thousand pounds of brick. His nickname was Old Reliable. That history is sitting at the table with you whether you know it or not. The Warwick location lit its coal-fired oven in the spring of 2018. Seven years of continuous heat. The bricks are absorbing it slowly, not all at once but building. You can taste what they share with the original, which is the part that matters. We ordered the tomato pie with meatballs. This is the right call at Pepe's and I am not apologizing for it. The tomato pie is where the place began. Two items on the original 1925 menu: tomato pie and tomato pie with anchovies. No mozzarella because there was no refrigeration. Constraint became tradition the way it always does, faster than philosophy ever manages. At Pepe's, mozzarella is optional. Pecorino and the tomatoes and the crust are the baseline, and the baseline is the argument. The sauce is crushed Italian tomatoes. That description undersells it. The sauce at Pepe's has been refined for a century to carry a pie without a cheese safety net, which means it has to be bright and acidic and complex enough to hold its own against char and dough and whatever is riding on top of it. The meatballs were sliced thin across the tomatoes and seasoned all the way to the center. That is rarer than it should be. Then there is the crust. The coal-fired oven runs somewhere above 650 degrees. The char on the edge is not decorative. It contributes a bitterness that cuts right through the acid in the tomatoes. They need each other. The leopard spots across the bottom of the pie tell you the heat and the timing were right. The crispness is structural. The chew underneath it is real. We also ordered the grilled chicken pie. Yes. At Frank Pepe's. The room has opinions and the room can have them. What I did not expect was for the chicken to be a genuine star. Not pulled, not scattered, not the afterthought that grilled chicken usually is on pizza. These were proper chunks, with intentional size, juicy in a way that should not survive a 650-degree coal oven but somehow did. Substantial. The kind of protein that makes you feel good, even though it's on a pizza. When I eat it, I feel like I'm taking vitamins. It tastes healthy. There is a lot of it. It is delicious. These three things rarely show up together on a pizza and Frank Pepe's managed all three without making it feel virtuous in the annoying way. It felt like a reward. Frank Pepe's in Warwick is not the original. Nothing will ever be the original. The original is on Wooster Street in a city that built its identity around this particular pizza and has been arguing about it for a hundred years. What the Warwick location is, is an honest attempt to bring the New Haven style here. The coal is real. The oven is real. The sauce is the sauce. The crust is the crust. Seven years of heat in those bricks doing the work that oven was built to do. Great room. Great service. Really great pizza. Old Reliable.

When we arrived the pizza was ready so we sat down and ate as there was hardly anyone there the second time around closer to 9pm. The waitress was extremely nice. The pizza is beyond basic and I was highly disappointed. The pizza was unevenly cut and the toppings all just fell off the pizza. I needed a fork to eat the pizza. Sadly they didn't have any knives. The bacon was nonexistent. I couldn't believe I just wasted $40 on a circle of soup. I won't be returning. This place just isn't for me.

You can get a good deal on a pitcher of beer or sangria. Bummed there is only 1 Women's and 1 men's bathroom for the whole restaurant, you often have to wait if there's a decent crowd in the place. It's a small space and the mirror is facing you when you're on the toilet, so that's....an experience. The biggest drawback is that it shares a wall with a cigar / smoke lounge, so it can get smoky in here. Every time the door opens, since people tend to smoke on the patio, a new waft of it comes in. I wish there was a way to improve the ventilation system and/or somehow get rid of this issue, since otherwise this is a cozy and fun spot with great food and lots of events and entertainment.

It is definitely a matter of time before she calls the police that you left intoxicated and they know what kind of car you are driving. They have surveillance cameras everywhere.
