So....as we were driving from Lucerne back to Zurich and I was hungry, I started searching for a spot. We weren't craving anything specific and didn't want to drive into the heart of Zurich and deal with parking and walking, since it was raining.
I searched for dinner near me and this spot came up and it was the next exit. It was a 5 star rating on Google reviews, so we decided to go for it. I didn't even know exactly what they served as I didn't look at the menu.
This is in a small plaza and we parked and walked up. Very basic looking from the outside and it is counter style service. I will admit we were looking at the menu in the window and if the owner didn't call us in, we would have walked. He yells to come in and says it is a culinary experience from around the world. Explains the whole premise behind his menu and let's us sample the items. They were ALL GOOD!
I had a hard time deciding which to get. I ended up with the Szechuan beef and hungarian beef goulash. My husband had the pulled pork, which comes as a burrito with rice and cheese and a side of chips and salsa. *He actually has a little toaster style appliance to heat the burritos and brown the outside. My dishes came with rice and soup. The soup had great flavor but lacked a lot of ingredients, it was mostly broth.
All in all, if this place was local, I would probably eat here often. The owner was definitely passionate about the food and how it's made. He makes things from scratch and doesn't use any pre-packaged, pre-made ingredients.
If you are a local or traveling through, it's worth a stop. read more
