I should have listened to the reviews that were posted..... Man do I regret coming here. I got the lunch special for an office. Granted, I didn't think I would be getting a massively huge piece of lasagna, but I certainly didn't think that I would be getting a piece of lasagna that wouldn't even feed a child. Please look at my pictures. This is truly a two bite lasagna. How on earth can you sell something so small? It is no longer than my pointer finger. Then they wanted to charge me $20 for two tiny salads to feed an office. This is overpriced extremely tiny portioned food. If you were hungry, please don't come here learn from my mistake. I don't even know how I'm going to be able to show face to the office I have to feed During my lunch presentation. I've now tried their pizza and their Italian subs. One as delivery and the other as pick up. Parking is super easy in the strip mall. Their restaurant looks very clean and cozy. Online ordering was super easy and they didn't have any suspicious fees. My lunch order was ready super fast. Their delivery was quick and timely. I quite like this little neighborhood place. They aren't reinventing the food but they are reliable, consistent and an affordably priced restaurant. They are the perfect pizza to order for delivery and a great quick lunch sandwich. My Italian sub was delicious and had a bunch of Mayo. It was just what I wanted, but kind of different from a typical Italian sub. read more

When trying an Italian spot for the first time I always go super safe, and get a parm sub. Tried the veal parm, bad idea. I can't speak for their pizza but the veal sandwich was super chewy and soft. As soon as you walk in there is a weird feeling to the building. Not a single person was there and when the waiter came to take our order she didn't know English. When I was done with the meal she gave me the check AND NEVER CAME BACK, we eventually paid at the counter, but when we left a tip on the table a weird guy came and took it. We walked in the restaurant and no one was there. Then suddenly we were led to a table by a waitress who doesn't understand English. Now I am a liberal but if you are going to work in customer service in this country you should know how to speak English. If my husband and I went to Spain, Italy, or China and wanted to open a business we would have to learn the language so we could communicate with customers . The waitress couldn't understand my order so she went into the kitchen and came back with a man who understood some English and we explained what we wanted. We were also told that we couldn't order the lunch specials after three p.m., but the menu doesn't say this. The food came out. A tuna hero for my husband and minestrone soup and a small chef salad for me. At least the food was good. But when my husband went to pay the owner tried to cheat him out of three dollars. We had to show him the menu prices and our calculations so my husband could avoid being ripped off. Back to the service. Great food! During this stay-at-home order, we've ordered their pizza and wings several times when we don't feel like cooking. My husband says they have the best wings on the Southside! We had food delivered from this restaurant. The lasagna and the chicken Marsala. The lasagna was not bad and was reasonably priced. It was just ok. The chicken Marsala was a big disappointment. While the thin sliced white meat chicken was tender it had no discernible flavoring at all. There were a few sliced mushrooms in the container and a pile of oiled spaghetti noodles with absolutely no flavor or sauce of any kind. Not at all what I had hoped for. So I ordered through uber eats and the driver forgot the main entree, a buffalo chicken pizza which was almost $17.00 for a small. And, the restaurant was "couldn't care less attitude" results in a never again customer. I realize they have no control over Uber Easts but they should complain to them about the stupidity of the driver and maybe offer to have another one ready for me for free to pick up - it is close to my home. While on my quest towards finding a local Italian Restaurant, I stumbled across Joe's Italian Grill. Because I was on the run, I decided to order takeout. How did my experience go? To find out, read below. The Good: Taste of Chicken Alfredo- For my takeout order, I had the chicken Alfredo. When I initially opened the food container, I did not believe that I had enough sauce to go with the pasta, but the amount of sauce proved to be plentiful for me. The sauce had a great taste and the chicken had a fresh taste to it and not like frozen chicken strips that some restaurants tend to cook with their pasta. On the Fence: Taste of the Bread- With my order of Chicken Alfredo I also received a roll. This appeared to be regular roll, and not a variation of garlic bread like other Italian restaurants serve. The bread was somewhat bland and not hot. The Bad: Price- The price for my dish, which was a plate of Chicken Alfredo, roll and side salad was over $15. I could have gone to Olive Garden and gotten a larger portion of Chicken Alfredo with unlimited soup and bread for the same price. In my opinion, the price of this meal could not be justified. Overall- I liked the taste of my pasta dish, but the high price of the dish as well as no garlic bread being offered with it turned me off from thoroughly enjoying my experience. I can see myself giving this place another shot in the future, but I would like to see if they are offering a sale before doing so. TWO STARS. read more

I was driving down Jahnke Road recently and noticed this place while glancing over. If I hadn't happened to look, I wouldn't have known it was even there. I have tried takeout twice and both times the food was REALLY good. Granted, I ordered the same thing each time, but the cooks are consistent. My food was prepared fast and was hot when I picked it up. I have also found the people to be easily accommodating, like giving extra bread. With several Italian places in the near vicinity, including the established Joe's Inn, I believe this place will give them a fun for their money. Try it out! read more

Ordered twice and both times all the food we've ordered thus far has been tasty. Wings are good. Spaghetti is good. Chicken Alfredo is good. The tiramisu is excellent! Delivery when they aren't slammed has been quick otherwise it's been as expected when ordering during rush hour. Customer service has been good. I asked for the fries to be extra crispy... instead they came extra undercooked (like mcdonalds fries that been sitting out for 2 days). The chicken wrap was horrible. Yes. As good as it gets. This is the place where Italian Delight formerly did business. My family and I loved that place and felt it was our very own little Italian joint. Color me surprised to learn that this new place is BETTER. They also have the best pizza in town. Hands down. It's simply the best New York style pizza I have had in 13 years of living in Richmond. The inside is completely renovated and looks fantastic. It's warm and inviting and, oh yeah, the food is the business. This is probably on of my favorite holes in the wall to visit when I come to Richmond. It's in a little shopping center and they have the nicest staff ever! First we ordered some chicken wings. We got the buffalo wings and we were not disappointed! They were cooked perfectly and were not dripping in sauce but still held the flavor! The ranch they accompanied the wings with was different but had now become my favorite ranch ever! We also got some mozzarella sticks. If you are a cheese lover you are in for a treat ; they were so stringy and good!! The tomato sauce they accompany with them is made fresh and is probably the best I've ever had! Lastly, we ordered a steak and cheese pizza! WOW! WOW! WOW! I've had some steak and cheese pizza in New York and I though I had best of the best but I was mistaken! Joe's steak and cheese pizza is freshly and perfectly made every-time that I don't mind driving the 2 hours to get some!! All ingredients are made fresh in home and you can taste that with every bite! Overall in every visit to Joe's we have never been disappointed. The owner is so friendly and makes sure that everything is made to your liking and if not they replace it for you. Also there is the sweetest waitress named Meli ... if I'm not mistaken. She made sure to tell us what was good about each and every dish. She also made sure that we were never missing anything and that our drink were full! Also, there food is such a great bargain!! We got a coupon in the mail for a free large pizza. That's cool and it's snowing, so why not? We ordered a cheesesteak and spaghetti with meat sauce to meet the 15 dollar requirement. The pizza tasted like it had been bathed in oregano. I've never had pizza seasoned in that manner. The cheese was obviously cheap, the fries were frozen, not hand cut, and everything was lukewarm after it taking a bit over an hour because of an address issue on delivery. The cheesesteak was ok, pretty standard. The spaghetti sauce was slightly congealed looking, meaning there's a lot of tomato paste, I'm guessing. Everything was just cheaply done. Obviously a good value for what we got, but I'm not seeing a 4 star experience here. read more

This place is literally a 5 minute drive from my house. Ordered not once, not twice, but three times for delivery. Was told 20 mins on the phone. Took over an hour each time. Shame on me right. I'm all for supporting local business. I really am. When I called to ask about my order I was given attitude. We order from them all the time for delivery at James River Obgyn and this has happened many times that only part of my order is delivered and not all of it but today was the first day I called unhappy about it and complained as only half my food was here and the other half I was told would be on its way!! The pizza here is amazing. I eat here for lunch on a weekly basis and the lunch special pricing is amazing, they are quick and friendly. The atmosphere in the restaurant is quiet and peaceful and it is rarely to never packed or overly busy. The pizza taste like over brick pizza, its always served hot and fresh.
