This is a rating of my virtual experience with Joe's. I've never been to the store but I recently purchased some items from their online store which have been virtually impossible to find elsewhere. I was skeptical that the items I just ordered and paid for were actually in stock..... During the holidays I wasn't expecting to receive a response to my purchase 2 days before Christmas but my order was processed AND shipped within 24 hours(Christmas eve). 2 days after Christmas my item was sitting on my door step. Like the other reviewer, I am a virtual customer of Joe's, and have never been inside the store. I was looking for magazines for my father's old military sidearm (Finnish-made, and only manufactured from the mid-1930s to mid-40s). I found them online at Joe's Pawn Shop, and made what both of us felt was an agreeable offer that was significantly less than anything else I've found. We had a couple of emails back and forth with questions about these magazines, as well as a couple of other items I was considering adding to my order. After asking about a couple of other types of magazines, I decided to add one of them to my order. The first shipment I received was incorrect, but an email to them had the correct items shipped out on the next day, along with a prepaid shipping label to get the initial items shipped back. To my great pleasure, they had also added the second item I had inquired about but had decided not to purchase! I took my new magazines to the range to test them out, and they all worked flawlessly. The mags for the old gun appear to have been refurbished and are in as good a condition as I would expect from that. In all honesty, I'd probably deduct like maybe a quarter of a star for communication and product description. I'm actually happy that the mags had been refurbished - I was expecting good-used condition - but I'd strongly recommend having that as part of their description. They responded to direct questions promptly, but when I placed my order it would have been nice to get some sort of response indicating they had gotten the order, and that PayPal had been invoiced, etc. Again, a very minor thing, and not worth deducting a star on their review. Don't buy from here !!!!!!! I bought a barrel from them on Ebay and was sent the wrong one. They wanted me to pay for shipping to return and not even pay for the return shipping on a wrong item. I purchased the barrel to go on a hunting trip which I lost out on because they are dicking me over and I cant afford to buy the barrel I need without the money from my return. Now they wont even respond to me and I am stuck with a barrel to a shotgun that I don't even own !!!!!! I will probably end up contacting the BBB to see if they can help me. Im a handicapped man on a tight budget and Joeys ripped me off. read more

I needed 2 Taurus 1911 .45 magazines, found them on Joe's site, then "fat-fingered" a contiguous item. When the wrong items arrived, I e-mailed Joe's. After two miscommunications, Joe, himself, e-mailed. Joe sent two 1911 clips and I returned the others. My experience was EXCELLENT! 5/5 for Joe's! read more

This guy plays games with prices and is very dishonest. He posted an item to eBay and I had the winning bid and it was a very good price. It was a gun barrel and I paid for it, and was supposed to receive it on November 5th. When it didn't come, I emailed him to find out what was going on. He stated that he will track it through the USPS. He then emailed back and stated that they lost it. I did some searching myself with the tracking number, and the USPS website claims that the barrel never got to their location to ship. I emailed again and he said that the USPS told him it could take up to 30 days to track. BS. Without me asking for a refund, he refunded my money (so that I couldn't get eBay involved) even when I was still ok with waiting the "30 days". I feel that he printed a label to ship and then decided to pull the "I can get a better price if I relist this" routine and guess what I found when I searched his items on eBay... the same exact barrel that I won the bid for and it was re-posted under a different item number on eBay.
