The place is nice. As the Halloween is coming up - the put up some spooky stuff around - looks good. Good lighting and atmosphere. A few tables to sit and enjoy your slice of pizza. Good music. As for the service - it's good. For a 5$ pizza slice very good - I sat down to wait for my slice and the guy even brought it to me! Very kind and thoughtful. Pizza itself was good. Crunchy at its foot, soft at the top. Just like I like it. For 5$ well worth the experience. Much better than any mcdonalds or danny's

As someone from the East Coast (NJ/NY), I can confirm, this pizza is 100% NYC-approved. I randomly stumbled across this spot on a Sunday evening, and it was packed, which is always a good sign. It's definitely more of a grab-and-go vibe with limited seating, so don't expect a big sit-down meal. But honestly, once you get that first bite, you won't care. The crust was perfectly crispy, not too thin, not too thick, and had that slight char that just hits right. The sauce had the perfect balance of tangy and slightly sweet, and the cheese? So melty, with just the right amount of saltiness. You could tell they weren't cutting corners. Every bite was full of flavor, and you can taste the quality. If you're from the East Coast and constantly disappointed by pizza in other places, this one will give you hope.

A great pizza spot in New York that I love going to and they've brought it to the west coast! As this location is down by third street, there is definitely an uptick in unhoused folks lurking around the restaurant. However, inside is clean and your classic pizza joint. The food was good but not amazing and there are definitely better places in Santa Monica to get a good slice. However, the Service is AWESOME! The team there is extremely friendly and helpful.

This place is local, causal, unassuming and fun. I love it. I got the pepperoni pizza, already made and ready to go. It didn't look like much but oh man, it was good. iIt was the sauce. The sauce is a little bit sweet and savory and has good flavor. It's NY style pizza, meaning thin crust. This place is open until midnight! I love that too. Come check it out for yourself.Sorry, I was so hungry I only remember to stop eating to take a photo when I had 1/4 of a slice of pizza left.

I mean, I was not expecting top-notch pizza. Me and my kids were just strolling down Santa Monica and wanted to grab a bite of something before hitting the beach. We found this pizza spot and decided to give it a shot. Right off the bat I knew this would be average at best, but I was surprised to find that this pizza was actually pretty decent. The slices are big, equivalent to 2 large Pizza Hut slices, and they tasted really good. My kids ate the entire slice, and I wanted another when I was done. Now, am I saying it's the best pizza around? No, of course not, but it was really good, and we enjoyed it. I don't understand the negative reviews because we really enjoyed it. Sure, the place is run-down and small, but it was good and worth many more trips in the future! My advice is to give it a shot for yourself.

Far from the best Sicilian pizza I've ever had but get's the job done if you are in the area. Great spot if you need something to bring to the beach.

Came with my partner and order two slices of pizza. My pizza was good and delicious, but my partner said his pizza wasn't very good. I did think the pepperoni was different and also extremely small. I usually think from Joe's the pepperoni would be bigger and better but I don't know. Service was fast. Ordered, paid, and ate. There's not much talking just saying what you want. It wasn't pack which was great so we got a seat and ate one pizza. It's a quick stop and eat. Most people are there to eat and go not like a restaurant.

Order in the trash where it belongs

Just received delivery. Threw the whole order in the garbage after one bite (see pic). Pizza dough wasn't fully cooked, sauce had no seasoning, cheese wasn't melted. Shut this place down. Geezus.

Busy place
Lucho V.

Controlled chaos for two slices of pizza is a no go for me. Most of their proteins were not available so I settled for cheese and spinach. Good sized slices and amazing cheese to go along with a solid crust but I really wanted pepperoni and sausage. Service was meh and the ambiance was mediocre. Think I'll skip this place online the future.

NY Cheese Slice

This place is awesome! This is a small restaurant with such good pizza. The people working there were really nice and got our slice out really quickly. This NYC pizza had such good undercarriage with such a good ratio of cheese to sauce to crust. The cheese was really cheesy but luckily not overpowering. It tastes like an authentic New York pizza and it's so good! I'm very surprised this place was not busy because this pizza is AMAZING. If you have a chance to go to Santa Monica you have to go try this pizza spot!

Pepperoni and garlic knotts are always my go to! Great service and a must stop when in Santa Monica

As a NY lover... who has eaten many slices there.... Pizza was awesome!! Not disappointed AT ALL!! I just wish I took some home! Won't do that again! Lol Can't wait to tell my friends!

Josh M.

Nice and small little pizza joint, packed with flavor and an atmosphere all its own. Walk in order by the slice or the whole pie. Nice NY style thin crust extra greasy so grab some napkins. Solid dinner choice after walking the beach and streets all afternoon. Guys behind the counter are friendly and welcoming to newcomers. Menu is behind the counter back wall!

They have metal tables and chairs with loud speakers blasting music that echoes throughout the space. Add in loud crowds and kids dropping utensils, and it makes the whole environment pretty unpleasant. As for the food, we ordered the garlic knots, a croissant, the hanger steak, the peach and hot honey pizza, and the wood-fired vanilla bean pound cake for dessert. We covered a good amount of their key items. The main takeaway is that while everything is cooked well, but the dishes really lack flavor. I dine out to get flavors that are not easily made at home, and unfortunately, I did not find them here. The food lacks depth, and frankly, it needs salt to make it stand out. The pizza dough is actually really well prepped, easily as good as Pizzeria Sei, which is the best pizza place in LA, period. But again, it just lacks flavor. Also, as a small side note, there is a 4% employee health insurance surcharge added to the final bill. I probably just missed it listed on the menu somewhere, but oh well. Overall, it is a decent place, but I would not go out of my way to come back here.

Just know it's all outside, and even with heaters around it gets chilly at night. We came for the pizza and that's exactly where the focus should stay: * Cacio e pepe pizza: Surprisingly delicious. Not a 1-1 with the pasta you're familiar with, but still really good and worth ordering. * Diavola: Spicy and always my favorite. * Margherita: Classic and solid, always worth having. * Rigatoni with pink vodka sauce: Server's rec for most popular sauce, and it delivered. * Little gem salad: Super herbaceous and delicious. * Arancini: Skip it. Middling for the price point... put that money toward another pizza. Pizzas and pastas run $25-29. FYI there's a 3% Healthy LA fee on your bill. Payment is handled tableside on a touchpad (card, Apple Pay, etc.). Vibe is cute, service was helpful, and I'd definitely return to lean even harder into the pizza menu. Came here for a casual lunch with colleagues and left already planning my next visit. The pizza is shockingly affordable for Santa Monica--and actually filling, which feels rare these days. Great food, great value, and an unexpectedly lovely atmosphere. Definitely adding this to my regular rotation.

My first time trying it and even if you hate lima beans (these are similar in shape but so much nicer), you will crave this creamy, savory dish. I'm still salivating over the Caesar salad with white anchovies; don't be discouraged just because anchovies have a bad rap for being fishy. The white ones are vinegar-y and fresh and they use bread crumbs instead of croutons. I love the addition of the slightly bitter but crunchy radicchio. For the main, we shared the guanciale white pizza (no tomato sauce) and the crust is thin and bubbly like you would get in Naples. And for dessert, we chose the Basque-like cheesecake with sour cherry compote. Hubby and I don't drink alcohol anymore so there are three mocktail choices along with a zero-proof IPA that's very hoppy. I chose the hibiscus mocktail and it was perfectly icey, tart and fragrant. Honestly the best meal I've had in a long while and the prices are affordable and ideal for a first date or a business meeting.
