I would guess that it aims to provide a place for the public to fulfil their leisure requirements, with decent equipment available, a good selection of classes, served by good staff and all reasonably priced. With the above in mind I can not fault Carlton Forum. I moved to the gym in here from a more expensive National Chain, for the simple reason that I needed to save a few quid where possible. Having ditched my £65 per month subs at the previous gym I am now paying £31 per month at Carlton Forum. So what have I lost for the £34 per month I now get to keep in my pocket??? Well the luxury definitely, the nice plush sofas, a receptionist with a perfect smile and model looks etc etc. But in terms of the need it intends to fulfil - that of keeping fit - absolutely nothing! Carlton Forum provides access to all the equipment I need to carry out my regimes exactly as before and the atmosphere is less pretentious than the previous place, giving a more communal and relaxed feeling when you finally pluck up the courage to visit the gym. Obviously there are a wide range of things on offer beyond that of just the gym. Swimming, tennis, football, badminton, exercise classes, spinning classes, squash etc etc. So there really should be something for everyone.

The prices are reasonable and you get discount with the Gedling Leisure card. There is a bar upstairs, however if you are looking for a drink in the day they only have vending machines.

The staff are also realy friendly and helpfull which is good. overall this is a great to take board kids somewere on a rainy day to run of there energy and also to have a no hassle birthday party for them.

The changing rooms are great with decent sized lockers. The gym here is brilliant. The staff are really motivating and friendly, and always on hand to give advice if you need it. They also make sure you don't feel intimidated by the body building types. There is loads of equipment and loads of running machines means I've never had to wait to use one yet. The brand new pool is lovely! Very clean and modern. If you're going to use the facilities here regularly I'd recommend becoming a member. It's very good value for money, for about £30 monthly you get unlimited use of the facilities and classes on offer, and you can use your membership at the Ri0pley Center too!

There are loads of clubs and facilities availble and booking has never been a problem. The staff are excellent, especially if you are new to exercise and sports, and there are good kids clubs and play schemes available in the school holidays. there is so much to do here and it is a real centre point for things going on in Oakwood, well worth a visit if you live in the area, if not to join.

The facilities are top class and have pretty much everything you could think of. The staff are very polite and helpul and if you need anything they will help you as best as they can. The gym itself is very big and has plenty of options and same equipment so if one is busy there is always another. It has a pool and around 10 tennis courts so you can always book up a court no problem. The quality of the courts are superb and you have 3 different playing surfaces; Astroturf, carpet or hard. The only downside is the cost however if you barter with them you may get it slightly cheaper than advertised.
