Here you'll find prepared food, fresh fruits and vegetables, fresh fish and meats, bakeries, antiquities, clothing, computer repair, books, electrical tools, fishing tackle, duct tape, keys, and products to fix things around your home. It's like a farmer's market crossed with a mall, a food hall, and a whole bunch of other things that defy categorization. It's also a must-see on any visit to Swansea. There's really no equivalent in your town, wherever that may be. Here at Swansea Market I was able to sample things that are billed as foods of Wales and I learned why Welsh cuisine has not swept my nation. Fresh cockles are good but no better than fresh clams. Traditional Welsh Cakes are dry and floury. And laverbread? Whew, laverbread is an acquired taste. Looking somewhat like cold creamed spinach, laverbread has an unpleasant texture and tastes of what's left of the sea after the tide goes out. Swansea Market is a great place to spend an hour or so and, in so doing, one can't help but wish there was something like this in their home town. Literally everything, under one roof.

I think it is a great example of a classic British market, with stalls selling an enormous range of goods from mostly independant retailers. It's the largest indoor market in Wales, and has a rather impressive glass roof which allows it to be so light indoors that you get the feeling of being outside without the risk of being rained on. There are several entrances, and each one gives you a different feeling for the market. The entrance situated by the fishmongers has the most distinctive aroma. A great place to pick up local things, particularly foods. The welsh cakes are baked fresh all day at the bakery stalls, the fish caught locally, and you can even buy those famous Welsh staples of cockles and lavabread. Also there's a host of Welsh cheeses and meats (of course, Welsh lamb is to be prized - the sheep are well looked after). Lots of fresh fruit and vegetables to be found here too. Here's a tip - it's a good place to find cheap (but still nice) greetings cards. I always find I'm outraged paying 2 or 3 pounds for a card from Clinton's, but in the market stalls you can get a decent card for under a pound, and they also sell celebratory paraphernalia - like ornamental keys for 21st birthdays, banners, badges etc. all for a very reasonable price. There's plenty of opportunity for gift buying here too, with unusual shops selling quirky things, as well as local crafts, jewellery, bookshops, babywear, loads of clothes shops, accessories You can get almost anything you need to buy at Swansea market, with the knowledge that you are supporting local trade and getting a bargain all at once.

My job also takes place extensively over the Internet through emails and many voice conference calls, so I've been able to fully vet the service: the throughput is very good. I felt I should update my review because everything seems to be much better and is certainly above the one star "Eek! Methinks Not!" rating I gave it in January though it's still not "I'm a fan!"

The registrar on duty expressed very clearly her disdain, telling my granddaughter " In my day we would have to get married to have children." Her insensitivity was unforgivable and deplorable. She showed a complete lack of respect for my granddaughters loss. In my opinion she should be reprimanded or removed from that position if she can not keep her biases in control.
