Great place to enjoy a good pint of Guinness or cup of coffee after some shopping in town. Menu is good and not expensive.

So they open up at 4PM, which is slightly early for the 5 O'clock drink, but hey I'm not local and…read morewhere else would you expect to find an Irishman...... I had the good fortune of being the one and only patron for the first hour and I sat and talked to the owner, Pieter. This place just has that authentic Irish feel to it. I actually walked a half a mile past another Irish pub that was closer to my hotel to get to this one. Maastricht does not have as much exposure to Yelp, so I actually had to look for a recommendation on another site. That is exactly why I am reviewing this restaurant. Yelpers need to know this place! I enjoyed a Smithwick's on tap. The beer was extremely cold, and the pint was a perfect pour! However, the biggest draw for me was the fish and chips. They are absolutely delicious! The fish is a rather large piece, done right in beer batter. It is also extremely flaky and I consider this a good thing! The pub is also known to be a good place to watch European football. The TVs are hooked up to sound and broadcast in HD. Whether you're looking for a good pint, good food or just to enjoy a football game, this is your place. And let Pieter know that Craig from Yelp sent you!

We've been in Irish Bars all over the world. This one is special. For one thing, it's clean. I mean *really* clean. It's really nicely furnished and decorated. The place has sort of an "upscale" ambiance, but retains the laid back feeling you expect from an Irish Pub. The food was terrific. We enjoyed large portions and the exceptional presentation. Prices were reasonable and the service was great. In short, this isn't your run of the mill Irish Pub. I absolutely recommend you check it out.

The is one really, really cool thing about this pub - James Joyce poured me a beer. No, not the…read moreJames Joyce - he's dead - but a James Joyce, which is a pretty Irish name when it comes down to it (and he happened to have come from Ireland anyway). Well, Dusseldorf certainly has it's fair share of Irish pubs (six of them within a short walk from each other). The thing is that there is only so much that you can write about an Irish Pub, especially when the only differences happen to either be their name, or the fact that James Joyce is behind the bar. This is the main reason why I decided I had to write this one up because of, well, James Joyce.

A decent Irish pub with a respectable pint of Guinness. For some reason, when we visited, it seemed…read morethat they were out of half of the whiskies... even Black Bush, which any self-respecting Irish pub should always carry in plentiful quantities. So I had to subtract a star for that... on top of that, they have a woman sitting in front of the bathrooms with a donation tray. This always annoys the hell out of me, as it is extremely rude and shameless of the owner of any establishment to do this. If you pay for your drinks, you're paying for the upkeep of the bar too. So especially when you go into a bathroom that's not very clean or well-kept and then you also have to deal with the sad-looking woman on your way out, it really is no fun. And I go to pubs to have fun. If they don't have the money to pay her for her work, then raise the damn beer prices! Anyway, aside from the cleaning lady at the bathrooms, the missing whiskies, and the slightly dirty bathroom, it's a decent Irish pub. Especially after the one I visited on the previous night with the worst Guinness I had ever had the displeasure of receiving, and which cost more than the one here.
