There are ball fields, basketball courts, soccer, playgrounds, bathrooms and picnic tables. A stream runs beside the park. There was a thunderstorm last night so the trails were a bit littered with tree debris, but otherwise the place is clean. The bathrooms have bright lighting, are clean, well-stocked, and fully functional. The reason I knocked a star off was because I wanted more distance trails and parking is only available near the playground not near the trailheads. Overall, I recommend checking this place out!

As with any unsupervised skate facility there is a lot of graffiti with foul language which isn't good for the younger kids. If you are taking younger children be advised that the teenagers there will curse a lot. Also there will be the smell of pot as these kids are obviously up there smoking a lot. They won't do it out in the open but it's definitely there. When no adults are around there is also some under age drinking evidenced by many beer cans. The county keeps it pretty clean and comes by frequently so it never gets too bad. I definitely wouldn't send kids 12 and under up there alone.

This review is specific to Mrs. Ruth's "Zombie Paintball Hayride", I cannot speak for any of the…read moreother things on the farm. The zombie paintball hayride was more hayride, less paintball, and even less zombies. The event starts when you load up into a tractor which takes you on a 15 minute trip through the woods until you get to the "mounted" tractor. Each rider has their own paintball gun and ~100 paintballs. Once the tractor starts rolling you'll get a handful of practice shots before you reach the "zombies", which consisted of a couple of teenagers in paintball gear making noises and a whole lot of clothing stapled to trees as scarecrows. The "zombie paintball" part of the attraction lasts for 5 minutes or so, and then you get to shoot the rest of your ammo at exciting targets such as trees, garbage can lids, and more trees. Once that's done, you hop on the first tractor and take another 15 minute ride back to the farmhouse. In short, good idea, poor execution. The zombie portion is way too short, and the tractor ride is way too long. If you're looking to be scared, look elsewhere, as the tractor ride was by far the scariest part of the experience.

I am pretty surprised that it is a pay-for-use resource however. I witnessed one of the areas would not accept the digital pass the day I went by...for a pay resource, I'd need it to work well consistently (thus minus a star). The Deets: I saw that the Town of Morrisville had recently completed a dog park so I had to go over and check it out (this reason will become evident later as to why I did). It is very nicely done with seating areas/landscaped areas, dog waste bags/trash cans provided, and fenced in for security. There is adequate parking available near it including accessible parking also. Note that it is not free to the public for use though, you must acquire a dog park pass which can be annual for Single Dog or Multi Dog (apparently only for two dogs) or you can get a Day Pass for same day entry use only which you can purchase on Morrisville's ActiveNet webpage. I realize that it must cost to maintain a dog park but was a bit surprised by it being a pay-for-use park. On top of that, apparently the Large Dog Area side was not working/registering the pass from people's phones while I was there, so everyone had to use the Small Dog Area side that did scan successfully at that time. I gotta say, that's a star off for me when you pay but you cannot access, since it is not staffed, that would seem to be an SOL feature. However, this dog park is nice with green grass and plenty of trees for sun relief/shade, which is...cool...you know. If they get all the kinks out, it would be more towards 5 star, but again, if you pay then make sure it all works. Now...I'm dedicating this review to the best lil nugget ever, Emma Bear, as today is her birthday but she crossed that Rainbow Bridge last year. I miss that little French bulldog so much, knowing that she was living her best life in this world made it a better one for me...will always love her to the moon and back!

As the name implies, it is a canoe launch. What that means is that there is a small (very small, like 4 spaces) parking lot that spits you right out on the Greenway AND is a way to get onto the Neuse River. My partner and I like to use it to float down the river. You can get in at the Canoe Launch and get out around Milburnie Dam, which is about 4 miles. Also, you can get on the Greenway and bike or run if you would like. Perfectly little spot but there are very few parking spots, so just be aware if you plan to go during the summer or peak hours.
