TL;DR - Months later I'm still raving about this place…read more We read about Zeit für Brot before our most recent trip to Berlin, and having read such good things we had to give it a try. We came in mid afternoon for a coffee and something to eat, but nothing could have prepared me for the treat which awaited me. I went for a weisse schoko-himbeer-schnecke - a white chocolate and raspberry filled enriched bread and... well, frankly it was life changing. One of the most delicious baked items I've ever eaten. I've hunted for the recipe online since returning to the UK but without success. Coffee was really good too and the service was pleasant. The weather was hot so they had big windows open at the front of the cafe, although quite a lot of sparrows had flown inside which were a bit of a nuisance. But the baked goods! You'd forgive anything to lay your hands on these. So good. Next time I'm in Berlin, this is my first stop.

We came here twice since the cinnamon roll was sold out on the day we came, but we ended up getting…read moreone the next day. We tried the following: Apple cinnamon roll: delicious Walnut maple roll: just ok a bit dry Dark chocolate roll: just ok Cinnamon roll: delicious and not overly sweet Cappuccino: like other yelpers said - over priced so a small cup of coffee 4.70 euros Service: The guy from LA - shout out to you as you were down to earth and awesome - thanks! The lady at the cashier - not the friendliest as there was a communication issue with ordering two coffees instead of one. We felt like we inconvenienced you to get a refund, so our apologies. Overall, if you are in the area, it's worth a try if you're a huge cinnamon roll fan, but if you have to pay to get here then I'm not sure it's worth it as there's other cafes that might be worth trying out.

I cannot talk highly enough about this place!!! These people CARE about the craft of baking--and…read moreyou can tell even before you walk in. Passing by, you're greeted by a line of locals waiting to order fresh bread and pastries and the scent of sugar and yeast fills the street. The staff were able to communicate efficiently with me as an English speaker, and were kind as they packed my large order while giving recommendations to fit my preferences. I ordered a cherry donut, a classic eclair, cream bun, quiche with ham, and a chocolate rum ball all for a mere nine euros. As you can tell, I had a major sweet tooth, but they had a phenomenal selection of savory options such as croissants, dinner rolls, brioche, baguettes and loaves packed onto the shelves. Each of my treats were extraordinarily delicious! The fluffy donut and tart, homemade jam were surreal...the chocolate ball was creamy and milk chocolatey followed by a warm, rum aftertaste and I enjoyed the bite of the chocolate sprinkles! The highlight for me was certainly the large cream bun! Sandwiches between two delicate pate choux "buns" was a mountain of fresh whipped cream that was soft and only slightly sweet. I am dreaming about it now! The bakery has a cozy dining area and a patio for you to enjoy your purchase. Cannot wait to come back here again. Please come support this place!

Serving Prenzlauer Berg beginning at 06h15 Tuesday through Saturday, lines generally present for items scratch-baked daily, the variety offered at Siebert ranges far and wide with Pastries dominating early hours while Sandwiches start to sell briskly prior to noon. Rooted in classics, Berliners featuring various Jams including classic Plum Pfannkuchen weighty with filling inside an airy pocket, early arrivals should not miss Cinnamon Rolls loaded with Apples nor Cruller-like Spritzkuchen heavily topped with Glaze. Equally liberal with Sugar atop Schweineohren, a Palmier or Oreja elsewhere, Siebert's Streuselschnecke and Bienenstich each outperform those offered at Backerei Kadtler while seasonal Rhubarb Cake finds the Vegetable's assertive flavor well-balanced by lightly-sweetened Sponge and Streusel.
