Bookthrift is a large independent book store in the heart of Ashbourne. The children's section was also housed on this floor and included a sizeable section of books both for young children and young adults, as well as a few toys and games. The upper smaller floor was your more traditional labelled sections - Natural History, Health, Travel etc. There was also a few greeting cards and gift bags too. A good place to browse and find that book you've been looking for, if a little expensive for the very latest titles.

The shop stocks all the usual goodies that you're find in the catalogues, so you can buy straight away without having to pay for postage and wait for the parcel to arrive! They have all the kitchenware and little gadgets that they're famous for, as well as some lovely luxury food products. And when I say luxury, I mean expensive but absolutely worth it for a special treat. I am already addicted to their toffee shop fudge, but at nearly £7 a box it will just have to be a treat for special occasions only! Their prices aren't cheap, but the products really are excellent quality so you get what you pay for. The staff in the store are always polite and helpful, and offer great customer service.
