The worst spay I've ever seen. Cut my baby open 6 inches... very biased towards new customers. Would not recommend going there.

Then they lost one baby during the c-section, and when an emergency happened with the 2nd baby, the baby died because their on-call decided it would be better to wait until morning, instead of staying at the office the extra hour to save it. They then told us we had to wait three months to have our dog spayed, then denied it when we called back and told us we had to wait another two months, despite us telling them she was going back into her cycle and that it needed to be done very soon. The reception staff are horrible, they showed no compassion during this entire situation. I would not ever take any of my animals here-ever again.

They do not disclose this policy when booking appointments, because that would be uncomfortable conversation number 1. Nor do they disclose it during check-in or even during the appointment when they grab your animals and take them in the back room. This is a practice that is not recommended under the Low Stress Handling standards. Certainly imposing it without disclosure is not recommended by any certifying authority, including the AVMA. During a series of medical appointments, the team had terrible communication and the DVM kept forgetting parts of the treatment process, or forgetting parts of an exam, in part because you are not talking to a vet until the appointment is over, and maybe you thought this was just some sort of a scheduling mistake. Then I saw the vet blame her mistakes on her tech and I started to worry that this was actually dangerous. When we politely requested to be present during a routine exam, still never having had their policy explained after several visits--the vet discontinued care in the midst of a chemotherapy treatment, disrupting continuity of care, a practice that is also not endorsed by the AVMA. Cutting their clients off suddenly when the slightest challenges arise seems to be their preference. We had one day to find a new vet in order to avoid a lapse in the treatment. They also refused to release the medical records so I could provide them to the new vet. The vet had to "sign off" on them, which included adding new information to the chart more than a month after the last appointment. More hiding of incompetency. Several other vets that I called trying to fit in a next day appointment mentioned that Bismarck Animal Hospital routinely delays releasing medical records when they are requested, which means they are "signing off" on everything. The cost was also 4 times the price of other vets in the region and they take a booking deposit that you loose if you have to cancel or reschedule. I am not sure why they have such a high rating. Is it because the waiting room looks clean and they have WiFi? Or maybe it is because the reviewers don't get to see what kind of care is actually taking place when they hand their animal over to be cared for in a mystery room with documents that are being altered long after care was completed.

POOR customer service, blames anything and everything on the customer. Have been going there for 18 years and because of one request, that had been accommodated on a previous visit, this time, not accommodating and Dr Kelly didn't ask me about anything on the issue, just decided he will probably write our family a letter letting us know, we are no longer welcome there.

When we rescued her, we were given a $150 voucher to go toward her spay once she is old enough. We were given 3 options for veterinary clinics that would accept the voucher, and you had to be established with one of them before you could get your kitty spayed there. So why not just make one of them our permanent veterinarian? We chose Lewis & Clark Animal Hospital from the list of vets. We went there for 3 different appointments over the next 3 months to get established and make sure she was all up to date on her vaccinations. We never did feel super content with them as a vet. At a former vet clinic that I have utilized, my pet was always able to stay in the room with me during the exam and I would get a chance to visit the vet. At Lewis & Clark, they take your pet out of the room for all exams & treatments, and you are unable to visit the vet. Communication was done through the vet techs.  We had an appointment scheduled to get her spayed. A couple of weeks before this appointment, we saw a post about an upcoming low-cost spay/neuter clinic. We did the math and determined that even with the voucher we had received, the spay/neuter clinic would still be cheaper for us, and we decided to go with that. We had already discussed finding a new vet anyway, based off us not having as good of an experience here as we had at another vet in town. The spay clinic was held on a Saturday. Everything went well & although our kitty was a little sore afterwards, she seemed to be on a good path to recovery. However, a few days later, we noticed she appeared to be developing an infection at the incision site. We wanted to get her some antibiotics and contacted the vet clinic where we are established right away to ask if we could make an urgent care appointment to get her some medicine. Lewis & Clark not only refused to see her, but they were also very rude & inappropriate toward me for even asking. They stated they "would not fix another vet's mistake." I let them know that the other vet did not make a mistake, this is an infection that developed after the fact & it was likely my kitty not leaving it alone that caused it. They stated, "we have no idea what kind of disinfectant or sutures they used and it would be impossible for us to treat her." The type of disinfectant they used seems a bit irrelevant to this situation; my kitty just needs antibiotics. We were able to get in with our former veterinarian, same day, and our kitty is now all fixed up & happy. I think it is evil and inhumane to withhold care for any reason, especially for an ailment that can result in death. I'm not sure if vets take the same oath as medical doctors, but Lewis and Clark veterinarians definitely do not live it!

I didn't like my last vet due to them taking my girls out of the room for just a routine check. (I like to be there with them in case there are nerves or something) but the only time they took them out of the room was for a blood test I had given permission for in addition to their normal visit. The vet wasn't some dragon, and the staff were so friendly and nice. When I had first called to schedule with them they had told me they were not taking new customers, but when I mentioned that the reason I had heard of them was when I had tried to take my prior cat that was dying and I had scheduled a vet visit that I had ultimately not used due to my prior cat dying on the way to the vet in my car. She asked if I had been put in the system and I said that I didn't know but she checked and I was in there! She updated my file and reinstated me as active and got me back in to see the vet. It felt like a final gift from my precious fur baby that died to me and her new fur siblings. The fact that the front desk lady did everything in her power to get us seen by exploring all avenues meant the world to me. Yes I would recommend All Pets to Everyone
