This evening I witnessed a tow truck pull up to a car parked on the street. There were signs stating it was a tow zone starting at a certain time. Although the signs surrounding this specific parking spot in question were missing. I ran back into the restaurant to ask customers if the car was theirs. We found the owners and they got out to their car before the truck hooked up. The car owner said he would move his car and the tow guys said "too bad." Another customer suggested the man just hop in his car and drive away. (The tow drivers starting screaming back at the point) Upon hearing this one of the tow truck drivers (there were 2) hopped in his truck and sped up behind the car, blocking him in. All the while the other tow truck hooked up the car and lifted it, preparing to tow. All while the owner of the car was sitting inside the vehicle. Things got a little heated to I called the police. After about 30 minutes discussing with the police the vehicle owner had to pay $80 and the tow company left. The tow drivers were VERY rude and incredibly aggressive and agro the entire time. I understand everyone has a job to do but these men were out of line. Never use Johnson's Towing out of Xenia. They are unprofessional and quite frankly a little scary. The vehicle owners are taking them to court and I hope they win.
UPDATE: one of the town truck drivers was the actual owner of the company. And the vehicle owner is, indeed finally a police report for assault and taking the tow company to court. read more
