Very obviously the management instills a firm and yet a fair guiding hand on the attitudes that they expect from their staff, yet the atmostphere is more like a cross between a good party and coffee n cakes at a mates! Washing is fabulous, why on earth pay for a head massage when you could get your hair cut here and get it thrown in for free? The cut is never started without everyone being Very Certain about the outcome required. And the easy going staff are able to instantly recognise whether their customers want to chat or would actually prefer a bit of peace and quiet. ( & that is rare these days) The finish is great, but it is blowdrying that doesn't manufacture or cover up...just enhances. The prices are fair...you gets what you pay for and yet it's all available under one roof. If you only have enough for a dry cut, that can be accomodated. But if this week you need to look your absolute most professional self for a few days, then you can get a cut equal to the very best that a city slaon can offer...and you will pay more for it, but again, all under the one roof. It's paid off though as I've won many a prize over the last few years, most recently being a cut and blow dry from the lovely people at Salon 57. It could be argued that as it was a freebie it wouldn't be a balanced review but I honestly found both the manager (Debbie) and the guy who cut my hair (I think it was Jack) to be welcoming and friendly, with a genuine desire to provide a great service and a bit of pamper time- so much so Debbie kept my little one amused when she started to get cranky. I got a lovely head massage during my hair wash (is there anything nicer?) and after a consultation with Jack about what I wanted doing I left with a haircut I'm really happy with, beautifully styled. I've been in search of a good hairdresser since my beloved long-time hair saviour moved away and I will happily return paying full dollar next time I need a cut and blow dry.
