Some just think its the outside area but thats only the beginning. In the open area in the Plazuela De IloIlo thats beyond the building structure is a very very dope area that resembles what you would call here a swap meet. Tons of tents set up with many different types of shops. They have some tents selling Disney character designed socks and the hottest shoes to rock, and tents that sell women clothing and cute phone cases and trinkets. Its also an area to buy all your souvenirs for friends and family. the items here are very unique. There are some things here you can't find anywhere else. At some points of the year they even have play areas for kids and have water rides and something like go karts and just a fun time for the kids. They even have a stage set up for various performances like singing and dancing. Near the entrance of Plazuela (it does cost you money) they have statues set up of different characters like Nemo & Dory along with other Disney Characters and Pokemon characters. They are truly some amazing photo ops. After you walk around the outside shops stop in the near structure for some good eats. they have a good bakery that I can't remember the name, and they also have a few restaurants. I would usually stop by Plazuela after or before heading into SM City.

There are several restaurants and retail shops to peruse. If you walk further back there's an outdoor park area with an outdoor "flea market" type area. Along the sides there are benches and grassy areas with colorful statues to take pictures with. Further down the park there is a small kiddie paddle boat area for children. On a very hot day maybe it wouldn't be as fun but we went as the sun was almost down so it was cool and very enjoyable. If you happen to be shopping at SM Mall I think you should definitely stop by the Plaza de Iloilo as well!

But rather than me writing them all down, I'd much prefer to refer you to the picture of its list of firsts. It's also another one of those houses built by a man for his living wife and children. Manuel Severino Hofileña and his wife Gilda Ledesma Hojilla (former Miss Silay) resided here with their nine children. According to Wikipedia: "Until recently, Ramon Hofileña, one of the children and heirs, resided in this ancestral house and personally toured guests who visited his abode." It also showcases how affluent living was in the late 19th century to early 20th century. This house was built in 1934, and during WWII, after the family fled for safety, this house was used by the Japanese commanders. It was later occupied by Americans. There's a lot of history in this house, how I wish we were able to come inside for a more thorough tour. But I worry not - I have fam living in Bacolod. A follow up visit is a strong possibility. I hope to get a shot at it the second time around.

I went by later and asked the same kiosk business. My price? 399 pesos! But that is very typical here in the Philippines unfortunately.
