Not very happy with the instruction so far at this place…read more 3 out of 5 teachers here that I've seen are slow, lazy, have an unpleasant attitude, end class early, are too busy chatting with each other, and generally just don't teach much at all. I've seen some in other classes that seem to be better, but my daughter has only had 1 or 2 good instructors sub in to her normal class (which has inconsistent teachers). They charge significantly more than other places, but the instruction just isn't there to justify the cost. Combined with their weird, irritating, and really just terrible billing policies, it's just an annoying headache to deal with them at all. The only good thing this place has going for it is how big the facility is. I guess that's why they charge so much (to be able to pay for the place); it certainly isn't due to the instructors' teaching abilities that's for sure. If you value your wallet, your sanity, and your child's gymnastics experience I highly suggest you look elsewhere.

When we signed up for a 3-4 year old class at a different time, it was permanently combined with the 1-2 year old parent and child class without any prior communication that it would be. Our child was ignored and not shown where to go for the first part of class and then overwhelmed by the chaos of a mixed format class with one teacher in training, so we lost $60 and 55 minutes watching our child do no gymnastics at all.

We love TLG of SLC! The instructors are so great with all the kids. The classes not only focus on…read moreteaching kids how to move their bodies, but also help them learn to follow directions, interact with peers, and manage strong feelings. TLG instructors also give tips to parents for how to best help their kids grow and develop, along with information on AAP guidelines on what milestones kids typically work towards and meet at each age. When kids are having big feelings, the instructors are always there to provide support in the most caring way. We've been attending Big Blue Swim School for almost two months, and it's been a good experience…read more Our kids (infant and toddler) really enjoy their lessons and also seem to be learning a lot. The facility is also fantastic--very clean and playful looking; perfect for kids. I'm still a little unsure of how I feel about the business model. You have to pay for the months' lessons up front, and if for some reason you can't make it, you don't get refunded for any lessons you cancel. The money also doesn't go towards the next month's balance; you simply have to do makeup lessons or lose those funds. For a family like ours that struggled to find a consistent lesson time at all, scheduling makeup lessons has proved tricky, but we do have to miss a lesson once in a while. Not sure what the solution is here. I also came by the facility during business hours to sign my kids up, but the doors were shut and locked, even though they were open? Luckily the staff saw me and opened up the doors to let me in, but had they not, we probably wouldn't have signed up. We wanted to visually look at the facility before committing, so a phone call didn't work for us. Hopefully this feedback proves helpful. We're eagerly looking forward to our next swim lesson!
