And they were prepared. But in staying eight (8) nights at the Richmonde for a vacation to visit family, I'm so glad we opted to pay extra for the buffet breakfast. I know, I know - Anthony Bourdain states that we should grab a meal far away from the hotel, but I actually liked it here. If you're not seated in the main dining area, by the kitchen, you'll be seated in the bar area. That's what I call the Business Class section. You may have to walk a little farther for your food, but it's not as busy and you can have a quiet conversation. As for the food, I really loved the omelettes which are made to order - I usually just asked for everything. There is a wide variety of breads, rolls, cakes (calorie counting??, not anymore), jams, cereals, there's just a ton of carb choices. My favorite was the Champorado - which is a chocolate rice porridge. Yes, this was a childhood memory in a bowl, topped with condensed milk. For protein, there was a lot of that too - longanisa sausages, beef tapa, and pork Tocino. There was a lot of fresh fruit too, and unlimited bacon. One warning, the coffee was not strong enough so have the hot chocolate instead. It was a pleasure to come here every morning and I had extra family members join me and they don't charge it to your room, so bring your credit card with you.
