I had a mean hankering for palabok & repeatedly heard the praises of Jollibee from friends/family. Of course I took to Yelp to see what was nearby & saw this location was a short drive away. I wasn't really in the mood for fried chicken, but I knew I'd have to try it. One simply does not go to Steakhouse only to order a salad, right? Instead of hitting up the drive thru, I opted to go inside. From what I could tell, there's only one way in & one way out, understandably during this pandemic. I was greeted warmly, ordered my food, & it was a very short wait. Five minutes, if that. The quick drive home was torture as I could smell the goodness filling my car. So onto the food - the chicken was amazing! Both with or without the gravy. (FYI, I ordered mild, but they do give you an option to half & half even on a 2 piece order.) Insanely crisp, not greasy at all, & full of flavor! The palabok was wonderful all things considered... this isn't your family's recipe, so with that in mind, I felt it fair to not hold it to this standard. I've wanted to try jollibee for a long time, but the nearest location is 50 min away and I never go that direction. Today I was in the area and got to try it. Very glad I did. My son and I both got the spicy chicken sandwiches. I can't believe how fresh, big and juicy the chicken was. My son had some weird stringy meat in his so he didn't finish it, but ate most of it.. I feel that the chicken itself is the best part. We also ordered palabok, which was rather bland, and the mango peach pies, which were good and not too sweet, but I wish the filling was less liquidy. I may be biased because i seriously love love love this place. So i decided to Drive Thru today instead of cooking. Their chicken which is called chicken joy is juicy and oh so crunchy i can eat it all day everyday. I also like their burger steak which is a burger patty with some mushroom sauce. I especially love their noodles called Palabok. Its a must try. Its the noodles with the yellow/orange sauce. Everybody loves their Peach Mango Pie. I am not a fan of their burgers. But some might like what they call the Aloha Burger which has pineapple in it. I love their pineapple juice but i must say its not natural and its sweet. Their breakfast menu is a must try as well. Waited nearly TWO hours for service for subpar food. Our order hadn't even been made when we complained. They refused to refund us and barely started our order after one hour of waiting, to which they didn't even tell us of a potential wait time. The chicken was crunchy and juicy, it reminds me of KFC back in the early 90's before they went to crap. The gravy was good to dip the chicken in. This was one of the most famous jingles from their advertisement back in 1995 and it has stuck with me (& probably to other Filipinos too) ever since. As I was enjoying my meal on a quiet summer evening, I was quietly singing this line.. it made the whole experience so much more enjoyable... it brought back a lot of good memories. Jollibee certainly was a big part of my childhood and adult life in the Philippines, same for my kids as well. This was my second time here, the first time I visited was a couple of years ago when they were about only a month old. I know, wrong move...but I did it for my daughter who kept begging me to take her. We waited in line to get our orders in at the counter for about 2 and a half hours, then another 45 minutes for our food. It was THAT busy.. but speaking from my Filipino heart, it was worth it. Fast forward to 2 years later (with another Jollibee inside the Seafood City supermarket), this last visit was much more comfortable, faster and enjoyable. There were a few people in line and tables occupied at around 7pm on a hot Monday. The place is clean and well-kept, and the counter service was efficient. My kids and I ordered the ChickenJOY w/ Jolly Spaghetti meal; Burger Steak w/ mashed potatoes, Big Yum, Palabok and Halo-Halo...oh, and lots of extra gravy. Every bite, food smell and experience was incredible and gave so much 'joy" to me and my kids. It's not just about the taste and presentation of what Jollibee offers, this is a fast food establishment to begin with. I know that it's just fried chicken (ChickenJoy) and brown gravy, sweet tasting spaghetti w/ hotdogs (Jolly Spaghetti), thin beef patty with a different dressing on a regular bun (Big Yum), and other items that are probably nothing special to other people and could not understand the "hype"...but Jollibee is sort of implanted in every Filipino being...who grew up or have lived in our native land, long enough to appreciate how big of a deal it is that there is actually a Jollibee here now in the Midwest area of the US. As long as we have Jollibee here, I would come back every chance I can. I could imagine that it is busier on the weekends so I'd rather visit on the weekdays. My friend and I found this place as a happy accident. It's a Filipino fast food place. We were on our way home to Highland Park, IL and we needed to stop by a Walmart Supercenter. As we were driving into the Walmart, my friend pointed out she saw a sign for Jollibee and I freaked out because I had it before in NJ, but she never tried it and I told her we need to go. This was late at 10pm, therefore, they were closed. But we made it a mission to come during lunch time the next day. *Verdict: It was sooo worth the drive back! We went into the drive-thru and since I wasn't sure how the menu was like (the first time I went people ordered for me) we asked the guy his recommendations. His name was Nathan. You can hear the excitement in his voice when we asked him what we should order. He keep saying "you're gonna love it, it's so good here!" He suggested the 3 piece Fried Chicken combo with two sides. He said the Adobo Rice was really good and the Steamed Rice too. Also, the Spaghetti and MANGO PEACH PIES for dessert! (A MUST!!) I knew that was the most significant item to order because that is what I love about Jollibee! It's better to eat the Mango Peach Pie fresh and hot too! Its crispy, warm, sweet and savory pie melts in your mouth! Life is complete after you have the FRESH Mango Peach Pie. Especially when Mango and Peach are my two favorite combos in anything (especially boba tea) so that hits the spot for sure. The fried chicken was really crispy. We got the spicy over the original non-spicy flavor. The recommendation is to eat the chicken with the brown gravy that it comes with and it's different, but GOOD. The Adobo rice has great flavor, more flavor than the plain steamed rice and it's the best combo to eat with the chicken as well. The spaghetti was sweet and had hotdogs in it, which I loved. Decent. This place was decent. I'm not a huge fan of Jollibee to begin with but I had a friend who really wanted to try it out. So, we did. We ordered the chicken joy, the adobo rice and the beef steak. The rice was a tad bit dry and I felt like it had no flavor so that was definitely a pass. The beef steak straight up looked like those Salisbury steaks you get with tv dinners. I wasn't a big fan of the meat but the gravy was good. The chicken joy was good, especially with the gravy. The chicken joy was nicely breaded and juicy. Is it the best fried chicken I've ever had? Absolutely not. Will I get some flack for saying I'm not a huge fan of jollibee as a fellow Filam? Probably so. When I went, there was hardly anyone there and my friends and I were able to find a table fast. All in all, this place was okay and we mostly went for the experience. Well, I couldn't pass up eating at this restaurant chain, since it is out of the Philippines, which I have visited in the past. It's like the Phils version of McDonald's mixed with a KFC. They do have several different items that are more geared towards the Philippines. Everything is good on their menu. Although, I'm not a fan of their spaghetti. Due to short staffing the wait is pretty long. As of tonight, the drive thru has 11 cars waiting for their order. We are here at 6:35pm and came in knowing what we wanted to order. We were given a table pager to let is know when our order is ready. Prices have gone up considerably. Our food order was ready by 7pm. The gravy taste is different. Its salty and cant say what is different about it. The chicken is the same as I remember from the past, thank goodness. The mango peach pie was tasty. Jollibee has been open for a while near our house but we'd never gone. My daughter has a lot of Filipino friends who recommended it so the last time we were headed to Mariano's (up the street) we decided to give it a try. Due to COVID-19 and restaurants being closed except for carry out and drive thrus, the line for their drive thru was as long as Starbucks! And their menu is very limited right now. They only had dark meat chicken, two choices for sides, and pineapple juice or water. My daughter got a two piece with fries and loved it. The chicken is fried crisp and was very fresh and juicy inside. I'm not a huge fan of fried chicken but I tried it and it was really good. It comes with some sort of gravy which she normally doesn't like, and she loved it! She was dipping her fries in it as we drove. The pineapple juice was really good too. Understaffed and it shows. The girl working was super nice, older lady was...present. Ordered online and expected to have to wait, but the wait was about 30 mins after time of estimated pick up. It took about ten minutes to get attention - between the shuffle of complaints and dine in customers. No follow up after the first time I asked which was irking. Had to ask three times to get an update. Employees didn't seem too happy, granted it was close to closing time. I am posting only the breakfast foods from here. But I Will eat here for breakfast lunch and dinner. The fried chicken is a Bit pricey compared to browns or kfc but the quality is better and it comes with gravy. This place is a Filipino staple! But anyone can enjoy it and I have seen non Filipinos in the resto eating and enjoying. The famous order is the chicken joy and you must get it! I was taking a break from shopping at a nearby mall (shopping??). I wound up at Jollibee, a freestanding fast food restaurant on Touhy in Skokie. Jollibee is a super popular chain that I have tried during a brief visit to the Philippines a few years ago. Supposedly long lines of patrons form regularly at this fairly new Jollibee, though I came during non-peak hours (Sunday mid-afternoon) so it was not overly crowded. I ordered my food, and my buzzer went off in about five minutes so it was indeed fast food in my instance. I sat in the "back" area so I did not hear the buzz of the kids dining and otherwise cavorting. I wanted to try a couple of food items. My combo meal included one piece of fried chicken and spaghetti, plus fountain soft drink. The drumstick was fine and came with a cup of brown gravy which I did not really need at all. The spaghetti is basically Filipino-style, so the tomato sauce is fairly sweet and comes with chunks of what seemed like hot dog bits. For dessert I ate a fried peach mango pie. This Jollibee meal did satisfy my food craving for the time being, so I was able to satisfactorily complete my shopping excursion for the day. read more

Coolest thing about having a Jollibee in your city is "Having A Jollibee In Your City!" I'm from Detroit, therefore I had to drive around 4hrs to get here. We put in an order for 2 buckets of chicken joy,, with rice and such and such. It was pretty much the end of the night, so it's understandable that they run out of rice and substitutes fried potato sticks instead. IDC, not an issue. Besides,, I'm pinoy as fudge, I'll just cook some up when we get at my cousins house. Anyways, the place is pretty nice. A shiny new toy for Skokie. Paint is still pretty vibrant, the floors are still glistening and the bathrooms are still immaculate. Not like all the aging Jollibee branches like in Carson City, Vegas or NYC. I'm not here to crybaby about their service time or whatever. I enjoyed their chicken joy here. They even gave us extra gravy because they ran out of rice. That to me is amazing service recovery. I thought the takeout after an hour or two later still tasted good. The peach mango pies were tasty, but big packaging for little pie sad, but I'll survive. Lol. I also had the Chicken Joy with chicken adobo rice, not bad but nothing out of the ordinary; fried chicken was decent. The portions were big enough to share. I have been changing my rating for this location from 3 to 5 to 1 stars. While the initially the location had issues it seemed to improve for some time but now after several bad experiences at this location I think the chicken has clouded my judgment. The staff is different every single time I am here. They are clearly terribly trained because everyone seems clueless about whag they are doing. The staffing has been getting worse than it used to be. The last several times I have waited in the drive thru line only to be told that they are out of spicy chicken. Absolutely rediculous if you only offer spicy and regular. That's 50 percent of your offerings! The drive thru also takes absolutely forever and they never seem to have chicken. God forbid you need a bucket of chicken. You'll be waiting in the parking lot until they bring it out to you. While I appreciate fresh food I very much am not impressed with this location's incompetence at providing their basic offerings at a timely fashion of a fast food chain. read more

I actually gave this place a different review months ago. Food has always been great. Best chicken, palabok and Filipino spaghetti as always. Whenever I am in the area, my friends look forward to the Jollibee treat I bring home with me. I heard they were a major food service operator with more than a 1,000 units outside the US. I needed to try it out. Short answer. No big deal. Just Ok Long answer. The drive thru menu boards assume you know everything about what they have. I opted for the chickenwich sandwich combo. No listing of side options. No listing of drink types. I said do you have lemonade? Yes, pink lemonade. Oh, no thanks. I'll just have a bottled water. I actually received a cup of water. The sandwich was comparable to a Popeyes chicken sandwich. The breading is thicker and very crispy. I really didn't like it. The thin fries tasted really bland. They were fast. They prefer Credit cards only a sign on the window stated. Another sign said "we are understaffed, please be kind" Not sure why they are here, nothing special that you can't find in other fast food places. read more
