However, it's difficult as it's rumoured to be a pain trying to get Jennifer Aniston to visit Barkingside. The Cafe is lovely enough. Small tables, not too cramped - the people in there tend to be nice and friendly. But it all feels a little too forced, a little too on purpose. The best Cafe's are those ones that are just honest, they are what they are - born by accident. Whereas this place turned up a few years back and seemed very exact in what it was trying to be. Namely, a trendy little Cafe where people go for lunch. I don't mean to be too much of a grump - it's actually quite nice. The menu is big and varied, and you're never left waiting too long. The prices are more than reasonable. It's fine for locals, but I wouldn't make the trip especially.

This store is cosy, there are a couple of sofas/comfy chairs and outdoor seating, so it accommodates a cold blustery day or a warm sunny day. The staff are really friendly, James is the manager there and he is very welcoming and introduced himself to me as I'm very much a regular, which was very nice. It has been open less than a year and I am a big fan, the only gripe I have is that their internet does go down from time to time which means you can't visit Yelp, but also you can't pay by card =/ and if you are like me and pay by card for everything this can be quite frustrating. When looking for good with my friends we often look for what we call a "scum cafe". Basically, a place that smells of bacon and looks like it hasn't been washed since 1960. Marino's isn't as bad as that, but it does qualify as a 'scum cafe'. Let me just explain; I don't mean this place is rat-infested and unclean. It most certainly isn't. But it satisfies the need for a traditional, bacon-filled breakfast with an awful cheap tea in a polystyrene cup that tastes more like a cup than a drink. Marinos does the job. You'll get fed, it won't cost you much.
