A friendly pub atmosphere with fine dining quality food IMHO. There are many good fish & chip…read moreshops in New Quay but if you want a good full meal, come here. I think the first review was already spot on but I'd just like to give mine for further support of this great restaurant. Apparently it's quite a well known one as our lovely B&B hosts in Llandovery had recommended we come here after seeing the dolphins and we are happy to have followed his advice. The menu isn't huge but the selling point here is fresh seafood and prepared to honour their natural taste. My scampi loving boyfriend ordered the scampi meal and I had the very fresh (caught the same morning we were told but not the one we saw on our dolphin boating trip) New Quay European Lobster linguine and it was incredibly satisfactory. The lobster meat was sweet, bursting with lobster flavour and it was the perfect pasta dish and spicy even - a slight surprise given that my boyfriend told me that we would not find good food in Wales. I could have easily had a second serving of that tasty dish. Scampi was very good but Lobster and in Summer, Mackerel are the seafood choices to go for. On a gloomy rainy day, the delicious food can be enjoyed in their cozy and beautiful pub or on a sunny glorious day, if you're early enough, you can have your meal while overlooking the bay of New Quay which is a treat. At sunset it could easily be very romantic and for a very reasonable price.

The restaurant is charming and has an outside seating area which is overlooking the Bay - very romantic. The food is outstanding - I had a delicious Cod and the service is pleasant and personal. Strongly recommend dead for the food and atmosphere in a pleasant setting.

Quick glance - as a restaurant: + locally sourced produce,…read moreincluding seafood, lamb, and beef + good value for money + attentive staff - small restaurant - reservation necessary especially in the summer season - limited choices for vegetarians Aberdyfi, or Aberdovey in English, is a small, picturesque village in the estuary of River Dyfi. Because of its size, there is a limited selection of pubs and restaurants in the village for dinner. My boyfriend and I went to the restaurant just after August bank holiday, so the drove of tourists have mostly returned home and we were lucky to be seated for dinner right by the big window with a view to the harbour and the sea. The next couple who walked through the doors were turned away as the restaurant were unable to accomdate further guests, even though the restaurant looked half empty at 8:30pm. As it turned out, the restaurant was very popular and by 9pm was completely packed. The ingredients are locally sourced where possible and the restaurant offers a range of seafood and meat for starter and main, as well as a selection of English dessert and Welsh cheeses. The food were beautifully presented and tasted fresh and delicious, although some of the combination of flavours were more experimental and, in a funny sort of way, showed its immaturity. For example, the sauce was pleasant but didn't quite go with the lamb dish, or maybe it was the sides (colcannon potatoes) that clashed with the sauce. My boyfriend correctly guessed that the restaurant is quite young, and the waitress confirmed the establishment opened only in May 2010. The food looks and tasted the part, but was not quite the complete package, but in no way detracts from the flavour. The waitresses were too eager to help and we were repeatedly asked if everything was ok (too attentive). When we ordered the Welsh cheeses for dessert, the younger waitress had no idea what the cheeses were and named a few well-known cheese variety that were not of Welsh origin. The latter is more of a problem with training and experience, but the food itself is very good, especially given the sparse choices in the area. Seabreeze is originally a guesthouse but I did not stay overnight there so cannot comment on the quality of the accomodation. If you are after a tasty meal while on holiday in Aberdyfi or in the nearby area, I would recommend this restaurant, as I imagine its quality will continue to improve. Reservations are highly recommended - also ask for a window seat if you are reserving a table for two.

I think it lacks a bit. A decent champagne on the list would have been nice to find. Ask the locals…read morehow posh they are and they will soon tell you but they all look at price first. I don't think it is good value. Also the most annoying of waitresses ever. Don't tell me you are clearing the table! Just clear it.
