(I'm a writer and that seemed suspicious to me). I took a chance and called. I explained to the friendly, helpful woman who answered the phone that I am under a chiropractor's care and just need an adjustment. She was knowledgeable, empowered (no, "let me check with the doctor and get back to you") and they had an appointment available in less than two hours from when I called. The address is wrong on Yelp. It's at 555 S. Sunset Dr. now. I tried to correct it, we'll see if it takes. The office is warm and light, there are two aquariums which are kind of relaxing. Dr. Tyler was friendly, jovial, warm and thorough. The cool thing about this office is you tell them what works for you, not like some chiropractors who will try to convince you that what you need is what they sell/do. I like deep, thorough hands-on work which is what I got. If you want gentle, they have that too. I felt SO much better when I walked out (headache gone in time for lunch!). They told me it was in the early stages, handed me a bottle of vitamins, and said there was nothing else they could do. Knowing that my father had gone blind from macular degeneration, I was terrified. I couldn't just accept their advice and walk away. Determined to find another option, I started researching. A friend reached out and told me about a treatment I hadn't considered--acupuncture. I was incredibly fortunate to find an acupuncturist right here in Saint George. From my very first consultation, I felt completely at ease. He took the time to listen, explain everything, and even shared that he himself had been managing macular degeneration for 16 years, keeping it at bay. After several treatments, I recently had a thorough eye exam with an ophthalmologist, who told me that my retinas looked excellent and everything else was in great condition. Doctors were out of ideas on how to help me. I tried Dixie acupuncture as a last-ditch effort... I was pretty much out of hope. Dr. Ping was very kind to me, and told me he could help me. I didn't really believe him then, but I was willing to give it a shot. After the first treatment, I noticed I did feel a little better, which had never happened before. That was encouraging for me because even pain medications did not help my stomach pain. I continued to go multiple times a week for months getting a little bit better every time I went. After a while I was able to go less and less and now I just go as I need to when I start feeling a little sick. I never thought I'd be able to feel this good ever in my life. Dr. Ping gave me my life back. It didn't happen right away, but with consistent treatment, I did get better. I have been able to hold a steady job, which I was never healthy enough to do before, and am able to be physically active. I am no longer curled up in a ball on the couch in pain after eating. This place feels like a chop shop for acupuncture. When I…read morefirst called to make appointment I relayed my symptoms and concerns and asked if they thought they could help me. They of course said yes and so I made an appointment. Upon arrival I filled out the paperwork relaying again my concerns to be attended to. Not only were my issues not attended to but there was no line of question as to my concerns or problems. It felt like a generic needling in the area I had expressed issues with. I have been to many acupuncturists and have had a generic needling to open channels in the area before but then why charge more for the first visit as if it were an intake and deeper evaluation. After the session I proceeded to try and express that there was still pain and much of what I had gone in for wasn't addressed to which I received smiles and nods and an attempt to schedule another appointment for the following day. At the end, I feel no better and feel swindled by the entire encounter. Check to make sure your therapist actually wants to attend to your needs thoroughly before committing to a session. Lesson learned.
