Despite her recent diagnosis of attention deficit disorder, we just received a note from her teacher that her skills are improving. I am beyond grateful for this program. I graduated in 2016 with 6 other students…read more My elementary educated was excellent, I dealt with bullying due to my unusual family background, however, the principle at the time did his best to regulate the bullying and, in my opinion, it was extremely helpful. When I reached middle school and high school I continued to have difficulties, however, not with students it was with the teachers. I will admit that when I was in elementary I was an extremely troubled child. I was a foster child and did not receive the proper parental guidance in my life until I was 7 years old when my biological parents were removed from my life. Teachers talk and made my guardians aware that they knew of my troublesome behavior and were ready to act when necessary. I truly had very little problems from 7th grade till 10th with any of my teachers. In 10th grade we received a new English teacher and that seemed to be when the problems started. This teacher on some accounts made inappropriate comments about her home life and enforced her personal Biblical beliefs on students rather than true Biblical mandates, which confused many students. When the administrator was approached on the account of this English teachers' inappropriate behavior it was brushed aside due to the personal relationship between the two. My senior year my family was going through some trials that made it difficult for me at home. Instead of receiving the Spiritual guidance I truly needed I was told to "Get over it," and continue with the task at hand (the school play). When I graduated my younger siblings still attended the school. One of my sisters was accused by the English teacher in front of other students of having immoral relations with the administrator. This was verified by the teacher, administrator/spouse, and student to be untrue. When approached in meetings by our guardians, administrator, and pastoral staff this teacher stated that she did not recall saying that, would never say that, and in her mind did not say that. Unfortunately, due to these unresolved circumstances the court stated that my siblings could not have that teacher, which resulted in my sibling's removal from the school. This resulted in my sister, who is a senior, being unable to finish school with her friends. The beginning of Genesis 50:20 states that what man means for evil God means for good. This being said my sister is able to take classes at her new school geared toward her college education and has received a paid internship in a field of her college interest.
