He took the time to explain the entire procedure step-by-step, made sure I was comfortable the whole time, and went above and beyond with the cleaning. Very thorough and professional. He also clearly explained after-care instructions (like use salt water to rinse for the first 2 days, no mouthwash unless it's the kind of mouthwash specific for preventing cavities etc.), which I really appreciated. If you're nervous about deep cleaning or just want someone who genuinely cares, ask for Tien. Highly recommend!

The office has been completely turned over--new staff, new doctor, and a completely different (and disappointing) approach to patient care. I arrived for my biannual cleaning only to find out the office had changed hands with zero notice. If you get a text asking to fill out "New Patient Information," be warned: they are treating everyone as a brand-new patient to justify unnecessary procedures. The Red Flags: Redundant X-rays: Even though I had X-rays done just last year, they insisted on taking them again immediately. Unprofessional Environment: The new doctor didn't introduce himself and was wearing a gray sweatshirt instead of scrubs or professional clinical attire. It felt very casual and unorganized. Aggressive Sales Pitch: Instead of focusing on my cleaning, I was bombarded with "treatment plans" and pressured into a consult with their in-house endodontist. It felt more like a sales pitch than a check-up. Rough Procedure: The cleaning itself was a nightmare. The doctor was not gentle--I experienced multiple painful numbing injections for a routine cleaning and significant bleeding. The suction was poorly managed, and the whole experience was worlds away from the care Dr. Sean used to provide. I felt completely blindsided. If you valued the gentle, professional care of the previous practice, you might want to look elsewhere. I will be canceling my follow-up and finding a new dentist who prioritizes patient comfort over upselling.

The first dentist who saw me did a full X-ray, proposed a treatment plan, and provided a bill for the treatments if I decided to go forward. While her bedside manner was good, I spent almost two hours in her office with just a consultation, cost of proposed treatments and X-rays-- no actual treatment. She seemed very confident in her treatment plan. I'm the type of person who gets a second opinion when it comes to my medical and dental health, which led me to Peppertree Dental. Dr Vasa was calm, clear, and straightforward about his proposed treatment plan. He offered different options to help keep me CALM during the upcoming procedures. Before I left, he even asked if I wanted to get my tooth temporary filled right then to prevent any infection while I waited to schedule the treatments, and it was done at no cost (this was not offered to me at the other dentistry). I was out of their office in just 30 minutes with a temporary filling. I must thank Miguel for being gentle while he applied the filling and for walking me through the process. I think I may have found the right dentistry for me. My treatment is scheduled next week, and I will update this review afterward. I think I may be able to convince my husband to switch to Dr Vasa.

They were following up with me after receiving notification from the endodontist we had been referred to that her treatment was complete and she would need to get a dental crown. While on the phone, I asked her about their office policy, which the endodontist told me had prevented them from getting my mother's x-rays from Dr. Baek, which resulted in additional costs. At the time, I hadn't contacted Dr. Baek's office about it, but thought it really strange that they would not share the X-rays with a provider to whom they had referred us. When I brought it up during the call, the front office woman became really irate, stating that it was not her job to contact us to let us know that they would only release X-rays to the patient and that if we had called to request it, they would have released it to us. She said it was part of the HIPAA release forms that we had signed when we first registered with the office, which is not the point of why I brought this up. I was trying to convey that I would have appreciated it as part of their customer service to try and help out the patient as much as possible, rather than having them accrue unnecessary costs like this. Her absolute disdain at the thought of having to provide any "customer service," which apparently is NOT her job at all, was really the last straw. While switching between Korean and English, she also started using really disrespectful phrases, calling me "you" in the familiar form in Korean. I'm sure Dr. Baek is a fine dentist but there are similarly skilled dentists in the area, with far better staff who I can work with for my mother's dental needs.
