Persian Love Cake

This was my first time to Joon and it did not disappoint! I stopped in on a Sunday afternoon for a quick bite and tried the lamb hummus and a beef kabob. Both dishes were exceptional, as well as the dessert cake. I'm looking forward to returning for the dinner service. The interior of the restaurant is open and clean and staff were polite.

I had made reservations for Saturday night at 6 we arrived early and was able to be seated right away. The restaurant is beautifully decorated. The food is incredible so so delicious best hummus I have ever had I can't say enough good thing about how delicious this food was the staff did such an excellent job. What a great experience one that I will never forget!

Loved this place. Reservation for 7 around 6:30pm on. Tue, wasn't too busy. Was sat right after arriving and the vibe in here is great. The decor was modern and really felt like you're in a different world. The lady who assisted us (forgot her name) gave great details about the menu and what to order as well as helped me pick between the lamb chops and lamb shoulder. We ordered all kinds of appetizers, octopus, hummus with lamb, meatballs, and then the lamb shoulder for the main course with the saffron rice. Everything was delicious, and the rice was a large order. Everyone got their own and we could have easily split three between the table. If I was local I would have taken it home. Tisk tisk. I'll keep this on my short list when in the area.

Absolutely loved the ambiance, the interiors are breathtaking. I loved that they have different dining areas which creates a cozier dining experience. We came for lunch on a Saturday and despite the restaurant being pretty full, it wasn't loud at all. Great acoustics! A lot of families with kids, which is great, since we came with our kids too. The food was great! The chicken kabob was tender, juicy, seasoned to perfection. Came with a huge side of rice that was enough for 4 people to share. The breakfast smash burger was also very tasty, the kubideh was very flavorful. Portion was big, specially in comparison to the chicken kabob. A big side of Joon fries comes with the burger. We loved the spices on the fries. Service was impeccable. Overall a great dining experience!

Overall: 5/5 Amazing experience from the aesthetics, acoustics, cuisine, and everything else. Food: 5/5 More often than not, when a restaurant has a short menu, the chef has mastered each dish. From what I tried, I'm pretty sure there's nothing on the menu that doesn't invite your taste buds for another more bite. Aesthetics: 5/5 Luxurious but not pretentious. The space is significantly larger than it looks from the outside. Despite dining during peak hours, I was able to have a conversation without raising my voice. Service: 5/5 Staff was very sweet, from the greeter to the waiter who knew the menu well and gave great recommendations.

I love love love when I have a great experience that's the perfect culmination of food, ambiance, and service that makes me want to not only come back but not want to leave. No really they turned the lights off on us lol. Thanks to Yelp (Big Ups) I found this awesome gem Joon and was able go to experience their brunch this past Sunday. It was perfect to hang with a good friend and enjoy being catered to while falling in love with so many of the dishes that we had to catch a second and third breath. Paul did a great job taking care of us and making sure our bill was correct. He inquired if there was anything we enjoyed as much as to have seconds for and brought those items out. I really wish I could have taken home the dango and kashk-e bademjan but I was being cutesie and only had a small purse with me LOL. Paul also gave us a lot of information about the restaurant and changes they've recently made. We got up to leave out and as I stood next to the bar awaiting my friend to use the bathroom, I noticed they had multiple items on my favorites list stocked. That's when Gerard approached asking if he could be a service. I soaked up more information about Joon and vowed to come back. This was an overall great visit and I really appreciate being able to talk with team members to get more insight on how restaurant's foundation and goals. We bid our goodbyes and walked around to the other side of the bar and was greeted by a bartender who also answered questions for us and gave us information about upcoming events. This was a really good experience and it definitely helped restore my faith in dining out.

Really nice atmosphere and you can immediately feel why Joon is one of the most highly rated restaurants around Fairfax/Tysons! Food was delicious and our server Christian M was very friendly and knowledgeable with the menu. We didn't use it but there was complimentary valet. Also I loved their pom fizz mocktail. Would love to comeback!!

One of the underrated pleasures of an upscale restaurant is complimentary valet parking. It sets a welcoming, stress-free tone from the very beginning--and this place delivered exactly that. The ambiance was excellent, with a stylish, lounge-inspired interior that immediately elevates the experience. We were warmly greeted by a friendly staff, and our server, Rodrigo, did a fantastic job throughout the meal. He was attentive, kind, and efficient. The food arrived impressively fast--which typically raises my skepticism--but I was pleasantly surprised, as any preconceived notions were quickly shattered. Attention to detail was evident throughout: from the presentation of the plates to the golden cutlery and the calming lounge décor. Everything worked together to create a soothing atmosphere that genuinely enhanced the dining experience and, arguably, elevated the food itself. That said, sitting by the window was less enjoyable due to cold air coming through--likely an insulation issue that probably won't be noticeable during warmer months. And if I'm being very picky, the bread did not seem freshly baked, which I would normally expect at a restaurant of this caliber. A fresh-baked option, perhaps paired with an additional dip, would have been a welcome touch--especially since places like Shamshiry and Al Borz set a strong benchmark in this regard. The portions were on the smaller side, as expected for this level of dining, but the flavors were spot-on and refined. I'll definitely be back--ideally when the weather is warmer

Went in for dinner after shopping at Tyson's corner. We got a table easily on a Saturday night. We were not very hungry so we just shared two appetizers and one main course. We started with the cucumber salad which was nice and light, had feta crumbles on top. Then we got the squash and cauliflower appetizers, it did not disappoint. It had a hint of spice to it, which was a nice add. For main, we got the lamb shoulder pavé. It was nice and moist with a touch of sweetness and served with vegetables. This was the best lamb shoulder I've had in a long time.

The atmosphere is very pleasant and upscale. I went here on a Friday afternoon and there were barely any other customers. You could definitely see how big the restaurant is. I got the $20 lunch special with a chicken kabob and mast-o musir. Chicken was cooked well, with slight smokiness and without being too dry. I also liked the seasoning they used and how it wasn't too overpowering. I tend to be a big eater but the portion size of the dish was very generous. I could barely finish it all in one sitting!

Joon was such a fun and delicious dining experience! We found out about this restaurant through Eater YouTube videos and knew that we had to check it out. The service was great! Very attentive. The food was amazing. We especially loved the hummus, lamb meatballs and duck fesenjoon. The kebab platter was also awesome! We enjoyed some mocktails and cocktails. They have a great drink menu. We admired the stylish wine glasses and cutlery. We thought this was an all around fantastic dining experience.

Joon has been a bucket list restaurant for my brother and I. We were in DC and knew we had to make a visit and we are so glad we did! The ambiance is incredible and the service we received was top notch! We were blown away by the presentation, quality and taste of everything we ordered. The prices are fair for what you're getting and they have a nice happy hour to take advantage of. You can taste and feel the love they put into this restaurant and I would definitely recommend trying it at least once!

IMHO close to Michelin star but not quite there yet. Relatively new Iranian restaurant to the Tyson's area in the former Cheff Geoffs location has a lot of promise. There a few things to work out. One of the things that needs no work is the food. It is exceptional in terms of quality, orientation, and preparation. The details really matter here. It's not your midnight kebab joint. It is fine dining at its best. The price points should give you that expectation. I love the brunch items here to include the lamb and hash. The French toast is amazing but sweet so I would Recommend sharing. The lamb dinner is also exquisite. Even the side veggies are not run of the mill. They use pickled mini onions and heirloom carrots. It makes a huge difference The staff are incredible and accommodating. I always feel welcome and appreciated. I love the little details. The paper clipped heart menus are adorable and the tea service is fantastic. What are items for improvement? The valet and parking. I had no idea the valet was there because there's not much signage. With construction on half of the entrance circle it's very confusing. I ended up walking both times I was there from the garage with no real safe passageway. The plates. Although beautiful they should check the quality. My plate "spun" around as I tried to eat on it becuase it was not flat. Just a little annoying. The staff maybe a little too helpful. It's just strange when there's still food and the staff come by to ask to clear it out. It's a little sad if people waste food that much. We were also the last seating of the night so I couldn't see why they needed to turn tables. The dessert. We ordered everything on the menu and pretty much everything except the chocolate pie and the apple pie had an off putting "cleaning" smell to it. It was especially evident in the rose ice cream. I love traditional flavors and rose flavor so I'm not sure what it was. For $18 for a slice of pie I'm pretty much going to be picky here.

First, I didn't realize it was a sit down and order restaurant, I was used to short order. I was quickly seared and within a couple minutes one server had brought me water as well as fresh tandoori bread and a delicious spicy green sauce to go with it. A second server appeared quickly to take my order. I explained I was used to short order, and all I wanted was their version of chicken and steak (not ground beef.) The waiter explained how he'd do the combo on the menu and off he went. Having looked at the menu, I feared this might be an expensive option, and it was. But a few minutes later I was presented with a platter of delicious looking steak, chicken, rice, onions, tomato, and event a char-roasted jalapeño. It was enough food for my wife and I have had for dinner between us, so the price was well justified. Every thing was delicious. At the end of the meal, I asked if I could order another tandoori bread, and get a small to-go container of the green spicy spread to bring home for wife to try. They brought me both a generous helping of bread and the sauce, and charged me for neither. This service, combined with a delicious meal that, while expensive, will end up being three meals, means this is definitely a spot I plan to go back to as well as recommend.

New halal spots pique my curiosity, unlike the average restaurant. It's almost impossible for them…read moreto be both overpriced and bad. At worst, it is one of the two (with exceptions). This establishment seems to be Egyptian owned, as the walls claim that Egyptians created bread, cupcakes and falafel. The service was fine, though the tables could have been cleaner. I appreciate that they allow you to substitute some of the rice portion for lettuce/spring mix although the spring mix was wet. They also offered both spicy and regular options for rice and chicken. I got spicy rice with spicy chicken, and for my toppings I got Mediterranean salad, hummus, and tzaziki. I didn't realize you could also get white sauce, green sauce, etc, so I probably wouldn't get tzaziki and get olives or something else next time. The chicken and rice combo was a bit overly spicy for me and upset my stomach slightly. I'd probably get regular for both the next time. I also got tiramisu which they recommended over all the other "cupcakes" which they claim (via the wall) is Egyptian. The tiramisu was surprisingly good. There was soft music that seems Arabic-speaking. They have fountain drinks as well as bottled beverages. They also include a service charge - it was like $0.42 for me. I don't regret stopping by, but I wish my stomach was more settled. I just came from a restorative yoga class and I was thoroughly at peace.
